The drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car crash. It took 2 yrs learn how to play drums again. The band waited for him. There;s several foot pedals he use his left foot to play the parts his left hand would've played Great songs "Rock of Agea" "Photograph" "Foolin".They were great in concert. That same round stage & lasers
Aha. Just being a bass player I didn't want to pitch in, but I'd heard that (depending on the drummer) the left foot is normally the least used extremity out of four. And so DL's engineers exploited this fact. See? We bass players DO listen...especially to the kick drum. We just ignore the guitarists. All the best.
2 years is nothing. Got a friend that couldn’t play drums with 2 arms to save his life. Tried for 15 years. But That speaks to Rick’s talent and drive that it only took him two. My all time fave drummer.
Def Leppard has so many hit songs, but the song that really put them on the popularity map was the song and video “Photograph” so I suggest you react to that for your next Def Leppard reaction.
Rick Allen drumming with one arm is inspiring. He wasn't born that way though. It was a car accident. It was sewn back on and amputated due to infection. If you think about it, he lost it twice.
First album after drummer Rick Allen's car accident where he lost his left arm. It was 80's. Song is on the 1987 album, Hysteria. And last album before guitarist Steve Clark (long blond hair) passed away in 1991. This album, and the previous album Pyromania, were huge.
If you go watch some videos of their work before then, like Bringin' On the Heartbreak, Foolin', or Photograph, you can see him performing with 2 arms. The drummer lost his arm in a car accident in 1984. He was only 21 years old when it happened. He decided he still wanted to be a drummer, and adopted an electronic drum set that allowed him to control more of his drums using his feet instead of his now missing arm. It took him 2 years to recover and learn how to play, and the band waited for him, opting not to get a new drummer. Consequently, this album, Hysteria, is their best selling, most popular album.
Love this song, so glad to hear this beautiful lady hearing this and Donna's husband not shooting my hillbilly butt.😂 Love the channel and I hope that you understand that I was joking around.😅
First actual clear shot of rick showing the empty sleeve is actually at the 5:40 mark... give or take a couple seconds ... I guess they missed it... clearly shows the hanging shirtsleeve ... I've love the Leps since the early 80's WAY before the accident... how they stuck together and waited and figured it out, is AWESOME
Rick Allen got into a horrible car accident. He got ejected from the car but his arm got caught in the seat belt. But the fact is, it says a lot about the friendship and the loyalty of the other band members that they waited until he recovered, until he was built a special drum set and until he learned to master it.
I was waiting for you guys to see his missing arm. The reaction was priceless! Thank you! This is one of the greatest song out there in my opinion! Great reaction as allways! Love from Sweden.
She loves to see some good hair - and she has great hair herself! But yep, you mustn't miss the fact the drummer has one arm - and the other thing a lot of American fans don't realise: that they're a British band, haling from the city of Sheffield! The line "Do you take sugar? One lump or two?" is a classic British one, used of course, to add to the innuendo in the song!
How does Def Leppard drummer play with one arm? Equipment. Allen has used custom-manufactured cable routing by Whirlwind. He uses four electronic pedals for his left foot to play the pieces he used to play with his left arm, which from left to right trigger sounds of a closing hi-hat, bass drum, snare drum, and a tom drum.
As a Def Leppard fan here. Ive seen them live in concert once in 2015. I can confirm, they put their whole heart and soul into the entire concert. Id love to see them again sometime before they officially retire. And to answer your question with the drummer, yes he only has one arm. He lost his left arm in a car crash I LOVE YALLS REACTION TO THIS SONG
I saw them for the first time in 2022 during the Stadium tour on Fathers Day the night was incredible the bands opening band was Classless Act followed by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts then Poison and Motley Crue and Def Leppard Rounded out the night they were all fantastic..this was my very first concert in my life and worth every penny
The Biggest selling single sold in 1 day in history, Never to ever be beaten due to the Internet. The 1st 3 songs that they came out with wasn't doing the best so far but the album's started selling and went to #1 Quickly by this song alone, as Strippers used this song to dance to in California while the Band was in Ireland Touring, but when they came back it was already a hit. They made a UK Video at first but then changed their mind & went for the Live in Contert video instead. Good Choice!. I saw them 5x lol Good taste girls!!!
Def Leppard were formed in Sheffield, England when the lads were teenagers in the 70's... Despite being a UK band (heavily influenced by Queen as u can tell)... they became stars in America by 1983 while being completely ignored in Europe for years... Joe Elliott (vocals) made up a fantasy band called 'Deaf Leopard' and the local band he joined in 1977 adopted the name and changed the spelling to Def Leppard... Pete Willis & Steve Clark (guitars) and Rick 'Sav' Savage (bass) were in the original band. Rick Allen (drums) joined at age 15 (Allen's parents had to co-sign his record contract w/ Def Leppard because he was only 16 at the time) Def Leppard came out swinging in 1980 w/ a minor hit "On through the night"... but the UK crowds were unimpressed. In America, they became conquering heroes and their 2nd album "High n' dry" became a platinum hit after Def Leppard started working w/ producer Robert John 'Mutt' Lange (who would go on to work w/ Shania Twain's biggest albums; and they were married for a while) and the band were a success on MTV which was just starting out. Unfortunately, guitarist Pete Willis was fired in 1982 because of his alcohol issues... Phil Collen (guitar) replaced him and finished recording the 3rd album 'Pyromania' in 1983 which became the 2nd biggest record in America that year (10 million copies sold) behind Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Tragedy struck Def Leppard in late 1984 when drummer Rick Allen crashed his sports car in the UK and lost his left arm when he was ejected from the vehicle. While in the hospital, Rick Allen told the band that he wanted to play drums again... so, Def Leppard loyally waited for him to work on his craft... He set up a custom-made electronic drum set that allowed him to play beats w/ his feet and 1 arm and made his return w/ Def Leppard to the stage in 1986. 'Hysteria' was Def Leppard's 4th album released in 1987 and it was slow to sell and the band was in debt from recording it... It was the single 'Pour some sugar on me' that took off in 1988 and 'Hysteria' would sell 12 million copies in the US and finally score a #1 album in the UK. Def Leppard also revolutionized the live concert experience by adopting the 'round' stage at the center of arenas (instead of at the end of the venue) while they played - it was a design Metallica would copy on their 1991 tour and beyond. But tragedy struck Def Leppard again after the 'Hysteria' tour... Guitarist Steve Clark was losing his battle w/ alcoholism and drug addiction. Def Leppard gave him some time off in 1990 to ease some of the pressure to help him recover and suspended their recording sessions... Sadly, Steve Clark died in early 1991... Def Leppard completed their 1992 album 'Adrenalize' w/ guitarist Phil Collen playing all of Steve Clark's guitar parts... They announced that Vivian Campbell (guitar) was joining Def Leppard to take Clark's spot. Despite their popularity, Def Leppard found themselves declining in record sales because of the 90's 'alternative' rock scene made them look dated and unhip... the pop-friendly 'Slang' album in 1996 only sold gold (half million copies)... 'Euphoria' (1999) also sold a half million copies... and another pop-friendly record 'X' (2002) failed to sell gold. Things started turning around in 2005 as a Def Leppard 'best of' album 'Rock of ages' renewed their popularity... In 2008, Def Leppard and a young Taylor Swift performed together on the CMT show 'Crossroads'... Def Leppard released 'Songs from the Sparkle Lounge' (2009) w/ a song 'Nine lives' featuring Tim McGraw. In 2012, Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell was diagnosed w/ cancer and took time off to get treatment... The band returned in 2015 w/ the self-titled 'Def Leppard' album and were a hit across the world playing huge shows... Their latest album is 'Diamond star halos' (2022) and the band toured stadiums w. Motley Crue... they have a stadium tour w/ Journey in 2024.
I went to see Def Leppard back in 2017, just to watch these guys. And to watch one of the greatest drummers of all time. Rick is amazing. Also check out Rens new song. Fred again mash up.
I've seen them in concert 5 times and my first one was in 1986...this Hystera concert was my first time seeing them. Going to see them never...never gets old...!!
His left foot 👣 plays the beats his left arm would otherwise play due to customised kit... Truly inspiring overcoming and adapting and just true grit and determination to be with his brothers and the boys would never leave rick behind. Go def Leppard 👍
Saw Def Leppard live a few years back here in OKC! You need to play more songs like this..really. Yes, the drummer lost his arm in a car accident years back. He's really great isn't he?
What you're seeing here on this stage is something Def Leppard they weren't the only ones to do it but they were the ones that did the most they did what was called theater in the round and basically what that is is most concerts the stage is at one end of the stadium in everybody else is directly in front. With theater in the round the stages in the middle and the band literally runs around this entire stage 360° in a circle because all of the audience is gathered around the stage in a circle it brings the audience much closer to the stage but it's a definite workout for the band because they're literally running around everywhere even the drummers portion would rotate to be a different positions throughout the songs that way everybody got a chance to see everybody. The theater and the round experience was truly epic!
This album came out in 1987. The previous album Pyromania came out in 1983 and was second in sales to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. I have seen them 6 times, will see them this summer as they kill it live every time
I just loved when you saw that Rick Allen what's playing the drums with one-arm. You just had that beautiful reaction that he has one arm he's playing the drums like.
All right my lovely ladies... I thought it was real cool when the chorus line hit, all three of you turned into bobblehead dolls. Most excellent reaction ‼️💯🔥🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
*Regardless of what others may say, DEF LEPPARD released a lot of good albums & songs through the years. Hits like "Love Bites", "Let's Get Rocked", "When Love And Hate Collide", "Demolition Man", "Man Enough",....* 🔥🎸🔊
The 1st time I heard this British hard rock band, was in 1982, when I was in high school, in topeka, ks. I was dating this girl named Debbie. You 3 are awesome! Thankyou!
The first time I saw them was in 1981, saw them for Pyromania and I saw them in 1987 for the Hysteria tour, they are and will always be one of my all time favorite bands, they had a lot of setbacks and never gave up, and never gave up on their drummer Rick Allen, great band with a great story...and yes they are still today a great band live.
Some of their live concerts are on UA-cam. They were in Japan recently and their concert is on UA-cam. I’ve seen them live so many times. For my daughter’s sweet 16 we took her to see Journey & Def Leppard in concert. I was watching her more than I was watching the concert. I took a lot of video with my phone of her to show the rest of my family cause we all pitched in to make the concert happen. She loves Rick “Thunder God” Allen. She’s autistic and has loved Def Leppard since she was little. 12:02 his first concert back from losing his arm they brought in another drummer to help him out if he got too tired or had trouble. The backup was late and when he got there they had already started. He looked and was like “what do you need me for? He’s got it”. There are videos on UA-cam where he talks about the accident and recovery. They tried to reattach the arm but it got infected so they had to remove it. He’s the youngest of the group. Joined them when he was around 15yrs old. He’s lucky to be alive cause a retired nurse happened to be around and took care of him. The seatbelt of his car took it off. He also does art on the side. He met a wonderful woman that helps him and he plays drums for her when she records a song. They have lots of songs to check out. Their catalog is extensive and great. Some of their new stuff is just as good. They have one called “Kick” that they did the video similar to their “Animal” video. “Let’s Get Rocked” is a good one. “We Belong”, “Undefeated”, “Photograph”, “Hysteria”, “Foolin”, “Goodbye”, “Promises”, “Armageddon It”, “Nine Lives” with Tim McGraw, “Rock On”, “Love Bites”, “Rock of Ages”, “Rocket”, “Two Steps Behind” and “Bringin on the Heartbreak” the list can go on with ones to check out. The did one Christmas song and they had their fans submit video of them singing along to the song and they put them into the video. It’s called “We All Need Christmas”.
Everybody has already commented so much about Rick Allen's missing arm, so I won't say that much about it 🙂Only that the poor guy lost it on the last day of 1984, so his New Year's celebration sure took a horrible turn! If you watch Def Leppard videos from before the accident, like "Bringin' on the heartbreak", "Photograph" or "Foolin'", you'll notice that he was one of few hard rock drummers to use the traditional jazz grip, having started out as a big band drummer. This particular song was, in stark contrast, an extremely lucky accident. Def Leppard were just wrapping up an excruciating, three year long recording of their fourth album "Hysteria": including a first, costly to the literal point of millions of dollars, attempt to record it with legendary Meat Loaf producer Jim Steinman - an attempt that was ultimately scrapped in its entirety, and the band put the producer of their previous two albums, Mutt Lange, back at the helm. Anyway, eleven songs had, finally been finished and the record was all but ready to print - when Mutt Lange overheard singer Joe Elliott playing something on the guitar that he didn't recognize. Mutt asked what that was. Joe responded that it was just a new idea he was fooling aorund with. To which Mutt in turn responded that he'd better get it finished real quickly, because that WAS going on the album. To the absolute despair of the whole band, they had to get the whole song written, rehearsed and recorded at, by their standard, neck-breaking speed. But it paid off. When "Hysteria" was eventually released in August 1987, sales were initially decent but unspectacular. And the first singles were not massive hits. Which was bad news. The previous album "Pyromania" had sold a mind-boggling 10 million units and its successor could not afford to sell much less since the recording had been, as you can imagine, insanely expensive. Then "Pour some sugar on me" was released as a single - and everything changed. The song was a colossal hit and from then on album sales, and ticket sales, also started to sky-rocket. The band toured all the way into 1989 and when they had finished, they had also accomplished what not even their most devoted and optimistic fans had dared to hope for. "Hysteria" had SURPASSED the sales of "Pyromania", selling an all but unbelievable 13 million copies. To date, it has sold way over 20 million copies and ranks among the most successful releases in hard rock and heavy metal history. So that, understandably, makes Def Leppard alongside Iron Maiden the undisputed colossi of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
I can tell you how fun thier concerts are, everyone is dancing and having fun , this is one of my favorite groups I loved them and thier concerts are great. Yes 80s we had the hair and loved the guys had the best hair too. I can tell you they still perform if they come around dont miss seeing them for they are still great performers and so fun, there is actually a movie The Def Leppard Story you can look it up on youtube, as the drummer did lose an arm and the band stuck with him and let him recover to still perform with them
One of my favourite bands from my childhood! And Rick Allen is one of the iconic drummers from the 80s and he did it with one arm. The band were legends standing by him while he had to re-learn how to play after losing his arm in a car accident. I was waiting for you to notice! Other songs of theirs: "Love Bites" and "Hysteria".
In 2022 I popped for tickets for Father’s Day for my brother and myself to go to the 3rd stop of the “Stadium Tour”… in Orlando where Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue and Def Leppard performed and it was a great time
When the curtain dropped in concert, it was actually during the opening song, Stagefright. They played Sugar right after Rick's drum solo (at least when I saw them at Hampton Colliseum during this tour). Tesla opened for them and the whole concert was one of the best I'd ever been to.
This video was filmed in Denver Colorado in February 1988! I was at that concert and then again when they played at Red Rocks Ampitheater also in Colorado on August 12 1988!
I remember watching this, and a LOT of others back in the 1980s on MTV - you know, back when THAT is what they played! They called them "Hair Bands" for a reason :)
Kudos to Rick Allen and the Band for persevering and sticking together after his accident and loosing his arm. They were huge back in the 80's, and still are to this day. I loved the Pyromania & Hysteria albums, and my Girlfriend at the time was the one who introduced them to me, Photograph was our favorite song. Fun Fact: The Warning got to open for Def Leppard two times in Mexico, and on the second night the Band came out and watched the The Warning's entire set from side stage.
It’s amazing how yall can pass up a man this incredible and so huge on utube is beyond so many of us do yall realize how good and incredible this phenom is well I hope yall realize this o e day have a blessed day
yes, even to this day, they still rock on just as hard as they did when they were younger. they just wrapped up their most recent world tour in Australia! and its always a treat for us long time fans to see someone's reaction when they realize that Rick Allen rocks so hard with only one arm! many reactors make a remark about how hard the drumming is at the beginning of the video, then later when they realize how he's playing those drums... their expressions are priceless!
Yes, I can tell you all that they are great live. I saw them... about 10 years ago. and they give a great show ! and this song... is really an anthem when they play it live, it is great ! and Kathy and Donna can confirm, their first part was also amazing : it was Styx ! so yeah... a combo Styx / Def Leppard, it was in the great shows I've seen in my life ! Rock on ladies :)
Hi. I did my military duty in the north of Sweden when this came out in 1987😍. A great album still. Sorrow is a Woman and Love Bites are other great tunes from that album that I love🤘🏻❤️. Loved your reaction as always ❤️..!
Is it wrong that I watch every single First Time Def Leppard reaction for that realization moment? Alex Hefner's and Mister Video's were the most awestruck in my opinion but that moment... when people realize they haven't seen Rick Allen use his left hand... and oftentimes they realize that the left sleeve is empty... there's almost always that EXACT expression. Pure Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Rick Allen is a better drummer with one arm than most people I know are with _two._
A great reaction to an epic song. I'm slightly older than drummer Rick Allen who started playing the drums aged 9 and played in several bands I remember him from Heavy Metal band Rampant. At the time I played bass in a band we did a lot of Deep Purple numbers in the late 70's early 80's he joined Def Lep at the age of 15. I was born in Sheffield England he was born in a small village Dronfield a few miles away. He lost his left arm in 1984 after a car crash he had to learn to play the drums again with one arm and I think you'll agree he plays well!😊 Lulu's fascination with "Big Hair" and Perms makes me smil. I think maybe she was born a generation too late.😅
As a stage tech fir years while Rick Allen is a very nice person and all. He was actually a wondwrful drummer performingbon his Tama kit before the car accident. Having His Stamina and dedication is impressive. Petforming repeated loops from a drum pad and doubling with your foot us something any drummer can honestly do especually these days. In the 80s Duran Duran Roxeettee Van Halen The Cars Heart even Country Grouo Alabama was using same set up as his or electronic pads and cymbols it was an 80s thing.
Back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit, Rick Savage ( bass player) put his jacket up for auction he wore it at the 1988/89 MTV Awards... it's a beautiful light blue leather jacket!!! I ended up paying $1000 USD for it!!
You're right about hairs--I grew up in the 80's and I remember at school, both boys & girls had these haircuts, with the smell of spraynet in the hallways, this video also kind of started the ripped jeans fashion in the late 80's (by memory, it came out in 87 or 88). Thanks for the reaction and have a nice day, all 3 of you. About the drummer, he indeed lost an entire arm in a car accident. Instead of kicking him out & replacing him, the guys supported him while he learned to play with only one arm. talk about good supportive friends.
I saw them in 1983 in Chattanooga Tennessee before Rick Allen lost his arm, they were great live! He seems to have built a great drum kit ,he still kills on the drums!
11:30/Lulu, baby girl...sometime during the 1980's the drummer 🥁 got into a car accident & lost his left arm!! But with the help of foot pedals...he can still play the drums 🥁!! ❤ ❤
Just one of their iconic songs that i suspect every American rock fan knows They along with IRON MAIDEN [ both brit bands] conquered America in the 80s
Great review, now you’re hooked on Def Leppard ! Yes he lost his arm in car accident, check out earlier leppard , let it go, bringin on a heartbreak . Good stuff, great band. Lost guitarist Steve Clark in 1991. They’re really an inspiring band for fans, been through a lot and still rockin!
In addition to drummer Rick Allen’s car accident and losing his left arm > they suffered another tragedy when guitarist Steve Clark (the one with really long white hair) died of an overdose just a year after this tour. They have a dozen super hits that are all rocking bangers plus 2 ballads that were chart toppers.
Kathy makes the cutest faces. 7:12 processing what Lulu is saying. lol And 10:39 when noticing the drummer. He lost an arm in an accident. Crazy story, but he managed to re-learn how to play with an extra foot pedal.
I saw Def Leppard at the Illinois State Fair when I was (I think) a Junior in HS. Had no idea before that the drummer only had one arm. Talk about a surprise.
He uses his feet to compensate for losing his arm, he has pedals that he uses that have different drum sounds and other things, I taught myself how to play drums watching him, I would air drum to their songs using 1 arm to teach myself how to do separate things with my different feet and hands, really good drummer
I was at McNichols Arena in Denver, Co when they filmed parts of this video and "Armageddon It" although in the way way way back. Lol But as others have stated this was an interesting time for Def Leppard because the drummer lost his arm in a car accident. So instead of disbanding the band stood by him while Rick had a drum set made so that he could play again. Despite all their trials leading up to this record they had so much success with it that they toured constantly for over 3-4 years before releasing another album as Hysteria continued to top the music charts.
Hi. Love your reactions. Love Def Leppard and they are still going strong..also Mötley Crüe. Saw both bands last year on tour and they are amazing!! Been a fan since the 80's of the bands. And they still tour. Do more Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe 🤘
You can check out Def Leppard live from the 2022 Stadium Tour. They were with Joan Jett, Poison, and Motley Crue.. Def Leppards live show from Detroit in I think it was 2018, is awesome too. You can find those shows on UA-cam., Jay from Toledo, Ohio
Taylor Swift’s mother is a HUGE Def Leppard fan. Taylor heard Def Leppard from the womb. In 1983 , Pyromania was the second best selling album of the year only behind the best selling studio album of all time. Thriller by Michael Jackson. Photograph, and Rock of Ages were the two big hits from this album.
The rest of the band wrote the Hysteria album while Rick Allen was recovering and re-learning how to play drums with a highly custom combination electric/traditional drum kit. The drum parts where recorded using a drum machine. I remember when this album came out. I listened to it so much the cassette broke. EDIT: This is from 1987
I don't watch you girls untill around 11 p. m here in Scotland. Again love your reactions. Lulu made me laugh about her Papa's belly. My grand daughter does the same. Good rock song.
🤘😎🤘 Cool Reactions! My friends and I were actually at that concert in February of 1988. I was 15 and it was at McNichols Arena (aka Big Mac) in Denver, Colorado. Such a great 2 hour show.
Amazing group from the UK, and fantastic song. Pour some sugar on me was released in 1987, I saw momma's look, she just realised the drummer had only 1 arm, he lost his other arm in a car crash, and had to learn how to play the drums with his one arm and his feet. If you want to know the story, and see the movie about the group, the movie is called Hysteria, story of Def Leppard.
Def Leppard were one of the youngest bands to have a major record deal in history as far as hard rock groups that were not a family or a single performer. They were barely 17, 18 years old and they made their debut album "On Through the Night" which had a very minor hit on it. (I forget in even now lol) then they made their what I consider "BEST ALBUM EVER" High and Dry!" At which point they showed themselves as one of the great writers of very Hard Rock pop music as well as performers! They really stepped it up on that whole Album and tour! Then they came out with their biggest to that date break out Album "Pyromania". Which IMHO was their second best Album but most would argue their very best. Songs like "Photograph" "Rock of Ages" (No Not THAT one lol) "Foolin" "Too Late For Love" all were REALLY GREAT SONGS!! and Hits as well. I do love that album and their sound which was all them and no electronic tricks. (I mean other than studio effect on the recordings not pitch correct or digital drums or sequenced keyboards etc. Like they did for everything they did after that Hysteria and Animalize and What ever other junk they put out and made Millions from but were just a sad watered down version of their younger selves even though they weren't that old yet. LOL. But I did respect the drummer lost his arm and they were true to him and didn't throw him out then he learned how to make one arm work with some technology and relearning. Props to him!
Of course, I know of the drummer having one arm, which is wild. They are a great band, but I didn't follow them very much and this is the first time that I've seen them. Lulu, please find that picture of Donna and post it! LOL Thanks ladies for the great rock and roll.
I've seen Def Leppard a few times live..always a good live band...i loved the earlier stuff before Ricks accident and electric drums and Mutts influence.
Ladies you did see that right. He has only one arm. Originally he had two arms when he joined the band, some years later he lost his arm in a car accident. This is when electric drums started to come out. It took him some time to get it right and as you can see in the video he got it. The video didn't show it to much but he plays the drums with his right arm and his feet. Pretty remarkable isn't it. This is one first big hit songs on this album after his accident
Def Leppard | Pour Some Sugar On Me
.. When the drummer lost his arm , his band-mates stood by him. Great story of determination & Loyalty.
He is an amazing drummer.... and can stand with the best of them. I really thought he would be done after that.
@@teresa2845 we all did
@@teresa2845 Rick Allen's story is such an inspiration.
Mad respect to the band for standing by him and not replacing him, which I’m sure they were under tremendous pressure from the record execs to do.
I was wondering whether they were going to catch that. They finally did toward the end of the video.
That passing might as well have been suicide.
That's what makes that album so bittersweet. The videos only enhance that feeling.
Always love the reaction when people notice the drummer.
@10:40 that look when you realize the drummer only has one arm and you start to wonder what's really possible
Love this song, so glad to hear this beautiful lady hearing this and Donna's husband not shooting my hillbilly butt.😂
Love the channel and I hope that you understand that I was joking around.😅
Thank you
I loved the look on Kathy's face when she noticed Rick Allen, the drummer having one arm.
Lulu was too busy looking at hair to see Rick Allen drumming with one arm ....lol!
There's a video that shows how he does it.

I believe THIS is when and why the "Electronic Drum Kits" that are so popular nowadays came about.
@@mstover2809 It gave the whole concept a new Platform and when the Record went Bananas it was out the gate and changed the world
I was lucky enough to meet them and see them live on this tour. They are so nice and they killed it live!!!❤❤
As a Def Leppard fan here. Ive seen them live in concert once in 2015. I can confirm, they put their whole heart and soul into the entire concert. Id love to see them again sometime before they officially retire. And to answer your question with the drummer, yes he only has one arm. He lost his left arm in a car crash
I LOVE YALLS REACTION TO THIS SONG
Thanks
I am thankful to have got to see them live a few times they do put on an awesome show, they are on tour now and I'm trying to get my tickets now
Def Leppard were formed in Sheffield, England when the lads were teenagers in the 70's... Rick Allen (drums) joined at age 15 (Allen's parents had to co-sign his record contract w/ Def Leppard because he was only 16 at the time)
Def Leppard came out swinging in 1980 w/ a minor hit "On through the night"... but the UK crowds were unimpressed.
They still put on a incredible show
Got to see them live in concert for the 1st time i love them theyre my favorite rock band and it was a birthday present
Need to see them live. So worth it. Ricks drum solos always get a standing ovation
I've seen Def Leppard live twice in the past 5 years. They are great
Seen Def Leppard 7 times last time was in Edmonton Alberta with Motley Crue Poision and Joan Jett!Great reaction 😊
This song was released in Sept. of 1987 and 12 year old me loved it I'm turning 49 this year and this is still a great song.
This rock era lives on forever ❤ no music genre can beat this music live or death
Glad you enjoyed it

*Regardless of what others may say, DEF LEPPARD released a lot of good albums & songs through the years. Hits like "Love Bites", "Let's Get Rocked", "When Love And Hate Collide", "Demolition Man", "Man Enough",....* 🔥🎸🔊
Allen lost his arm in an accident. The group waited until he learned to play with just one arm to go back out on tour.
Wow
The 1st time I heard this British hard rock band, was in 1982, when I was in high school, in topeka, ks. I was dating this girl named Debbie. You 3 are awesome! Thankyou!
This was my 1st ever concert back in the day.... amazing show!
In the Round, Awesome Concert, seen them live several times, still touring today they were in Las Vegas yeah, good review by u guys 👌😆🤘🎸🎸🎤🥁
YEAH my fav rockband of my youth
Great band live mixed perfectly you could hear every part!
This is the best band in the world!, playing the best song in the world!
I was also lucky enuf to see this in the late 80’s. 1989 was when I saw this concert. It was a great concert no doubt about it.
I bet it was.
Blast from past def leopard is one of the iconic bands with one of the best drummers ❤
In 2022 I popped for tickets for Father’s Day for my brother and myself to go to the 3rd stop of the “Stadium Tour”… in Orlando where Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue and Def Leppard performed and it was a great time
a great English band that a lot of us thought were American because of their sound. Water. One of their best. Thanks, girls.
When the curtain dropped in concert, it was actually during the opening song, Stagefright. They played Sugar right after Rick's drum solo (at least when I saw them at Hampton Colliseum during this tour). Tesla opened for them and the whole concert was one of the best I'd ever been to.
The full albun Hysteria (1987) is one of my favorite albums from Def Leppard!
That is clips of a live performance. I was at the concert and it was AWESOME!
The thunder god, Rick Allen
GiddyKitty has a pretty reaction to it too.
Kathy's look of realisation was priceless.
He lost his left arm in 1984 after a car crash he had to learn to play the drums again with one arm and I think you'll agree he plays well!😊
Lulu's fascination with "Big Hair" and Perms makes me smil. I think maybe she was born a generation too late.😅
Thanks for the information
Love This Song and The Whole Hysteria Album Is a Classic 👍🥰.
I've seen def leppard 4 times great band
Sheffield England..Def Leppard pure class.
You can find those shows on UA-cam.,
Jay from Toledo, Ohio
I’ve seen them in concert so many times, I got second row seats for this in the round concert. Try to see them every time they come to Alberta.
Awesome
EDIT: This is from 1987
As a drummer i have mad respect for Rick Allen. Truly inspirational
They are great live, seen them 6 times.
Oh wow!
Blasted out of every British bedroom window in the 80s 🤘🇬🇧🐆
Amazing group from the UK, and fantastic song. Pour some sugar on me was released in 1987, I saw momma's look, she just realised the drummer had only 1 arm, he lost his other arm in a car crash, and had to learn how to play the drums with his one arm and his feet. If you want to know the story, and see the movie about the group, the movie is called Hysteria, story of Def Leppard.
I love it when reactors see Rick for the first time. Great Song, Great Band and a Great Reaction. You should react to Love Bites from them next.
My favorite band ❤️ thanks for reacting.
Our pleasure!
You're watching my first concert experience. I don't know if any of the footage is from the venue I was at, but that tour was my first concert.
Lovin this.. yes love to see the pic of that lovely lady with big hair 😁 I'm 62 and still got mine, and I'm a bloke
LuLu is back! Awesome!
I saw them at the baseball stadium in Dayton Ohio.
I love old school Rock in Rio❤❤.Congratulations dear ❤
I've seen Def Leppard a few times live..always a good live band...i loved the earlier stuff before Ricks accident and electric drums and Mutts influence.
Great British band, pure Sheffield steel! Yep, Rick Allen lost his arm in a car crash, so pleased to see him continue doing what he loves!
