The PC vers getting controller support and split screen is also extremely appreciated
For me, personally, to have it accessable on my PS5 and use a good wireless controller, along with it upscaled to 4k so it doesn't look like a potato is worth it. I now don't have to keep a small CRT TV for my PS2 just to play it and it look descent, nor do I have to buy strange adaptors just for it to look bad on my TV. So extremely convenient, then on top of the online support it's worth it.
Though a $20-25 price tag would have been more on par, I agree.
It's all about money, if they see a profit can be made they'll do this with other games. So for me it worth it since I want remakes of other games. It would be nice if the games were cheap or free, but here in reality money matters.
For me is 28:99pounds I ready per ordered it when it comes out I gonna play it can’t wait to play my childhood game once again so many memories of this game

The disc version of the PC version also doesn't work online unless you use game ranger I believe. I just tried playing last night

Think about it like this. No dlc seasons passes, no mtx’s. When you buy it you get the whole game(s) lock stock and barrel. No $14 skins or lootboxes, no extra whoring out. That’s why it cost what it cost.
From what you see that's included, it seems like the price you pay is fair enough. There is completely new and overhauled programming here that people have to work HARD to get right, especially when you're revamping a game that came out 20 years ago, for modern times. New .exe files and compatibility makes the game more mod friendly, what you get for Battlefront 2 remastered they can go probably 4x further than they originally could. Especially going from 32 bit to 64 bit processing.
The game could personally be $69.99 at full price and I would still buy it it's not about the cost it's about how this game was my childhood and I'm reliving it on next gen consoles ENOUGH SAID
It is especially for those getting it for the first time on PS5 and Switch.
I've just been doing campaign,but the few mp games I've had,have been fun but oddly short.
Whenever someone asks if the game is worth it,I clearly state that for hardcore fans who don't care about gfx and just want an upscaled collection with all their dlc packed in,then yes.
You'll get both games in their full versions (Xbox used to have exclusive content),in 60fps with the mp cap lifted from 32 to 64,with upscaled resolutions.
Again,simple but for hardcore fans of the originals it's fair but if you have no interest yet and feel unsure,then wait or try out the originals for cheap.
The collection is not a remake,just an upscaled bundle which is purposely keeping the original feel because Aspyr are more experienced in keeping old games as close to their original releases with minor tweaks.

I pre-ordered it yesterday, and I’m SO BEYOND EXCITED for this collection! Also, I’ve NEVER played Star Wars Battlefront (2004) before, but I played a LOT of hours of the second game.
The game will come in a neat package and launcher, it's upgraded to 64 bits (that's awesome for mods), upscaled to native 4k, will (probably) have some sort of official support to likely fix bugs, new 64 player servers and “new” content for consoles (XL mode, etc…), DLCs…
I mean, is it a cash grab?

Is it still worth it?
- Also yes.
Battlefront fans are happy they will be able to play the OGs again with also a new online experience and basically on every platform they want. That's a win-win for me, they could've done a lot less and people would still pay if the “Battlefront” name was attached to it, but they are at least giving cool stuff.
I hate it when people say things are a cash grab. Like no shit every company on the planet would like to make money. Almost like it’s the company’s goal.

Recently, we got the news about how Disney wants something like 30% cut on everything related to Star Wars games now (that's why there were many games canceled in the last few weeks). So we are luck Apyer is doing this port with all this “new” and cool stuff, cause considering what I said and that Apyer also want to get some profit on this, I can see why they priced the game around $35…

Yes it's a great package for new people. Same for old. No cause it'll get no post launch support. Yes cause we'll eventually keep getting remasters. I need the rogue games already on console
I think the upscaled textures, dlc content, online support, and hero assault on all maps justifies the extra $10-15 if you don't already own the games. And If you're on console the fps boost and XL mode are two more reasons.

It’s amazing how much that 15 bucks difference makes 20 bucks it would be a no brainer at 35 it has me questioning wether I want it, how long the online will be active, and if I just want to wait for a sale

With Dragon’s Dogma 2 coming up and the economy being what it is I can’t justify the price for a slight visual upgrade and some online support.
Perhaps it will go on sale in a few months and I can re-visit. Had it been $15 to $20 max then I could see it
Is the game worth a pre order? I dont believe in pre ordering games however being able download the game before launch is enticing.
It's worth it. I have it on switch and to be able to replay one of my childhood favorites mobile is awesome.
I wish it had ports of Renegade and Elite to justify the release.
I think a lot of the value comes from the time you sink in.
I feel like the value of expanded hero assault has been under valued that's an extra 10 in content rn there if u ask me. My best childhood moments can leave Mos Eisley

It's not really a divided subject. Most people are okay with the price. It's mostly the PC crowd who wre complaining about the price. But even then it's not all PC players complaining.

Just because you have a PC and have mods, Doesn't mean EVERYONE can afford a PC and mods. This is worth the grab for nostalgia players like me

Not really tbh lol, at least on PC. From the photos we’ve seen so far, the game could look a lot better than it does. There are tons of mods that do better job at “remastering” the game. That and MP is still active on it. I really would argue it’s not really worth it on console either. Yeah, you get two heroes and a couple DLC maps that you get with BF2 anyway. It’s cool, but not really worth it if you already have the games on PC, maybe worth it on console.

Buuut we get double the battle size on console from what we had plus XL mode plus a lot clearer visuals. Has me... a bit excited.

I'd like cross play where I can decide if I want to have cross play or not as well as decide if I want to have it open to PC or not. That is what Enlisted does, they let you decide who you want to be open to play with.

When these games came out back in 2004 and 2005, both of them were $60. Now, they are BOTH repackaged with all bonus content do just $35. Now that’s a steal.
