ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: A return to the future! ...The really stupid future. - Комедії
"they're going to be really mad at you." "you'll see but no one else will." My friends. almost a year later and we now know this was foreshadowing for A voice in the Dark. Well played Linkara, well played.
OH THATS A GOOD ONE!
2090’s kid “why would you say that?” Lol I love that part
Man, Ravage took a weird turn when Soundwave left him. He doesn't even look the same!
Well obviously he got himself a Pretender shell.
He's no longer Russian either!
If this is Ravage, I shudder to think of what a Rumble looks like.
What about Frenzy, Buzzsaw and Laserbeak?
We don't talk about Buzzsaw...
I just had a random thought:
So, we've seen plenty of (19)90's Kid, and thanks to these strange comics we've also met 2090's Kid. So, if someone Patreons Louis to review, like, one of the original Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland comics or something similarly really old, could we potentially see 1890's Kid?
"SIIIIIIIIR!!! That was the most enrapturing experience since I took my sweetheart for a ride on Mister Ferris' brand new Observation Wheel at the World's Columbian Expositiooooon!"
And yet somehow he'd probably still understand and use the exclamation "Sewing Machine!"
I completely forgot Ravage existed.
I wish it stayed that way.
Marvel did....of all the reunions he never makes the cut....even La Luntica gets more time than he does
I don’t care if his name is Stormer, I’m calling him Taserface.
Really? I call him by his real name-Sloth.
IT'S METAPHORICAL!
Taserface has been taken.
@@Rgoid Well, this is Taserface 2099.
I've worked retail for over 10 years and trust me, Linkara, there are DEFINITELY people who seem to think we keep all the "best" product back away where they can't buy it.
A new 2099 video! Sewing machine!😎
Totally Kleenex!
E
Irons is actually a real slang term, similar to gat. It means handgun.
Huh I actually literally just commented on that before coming down here to read this XD Great minds, huh? But yeah, irons can also be slang for handcuffs, manacles or shackles. Or really any metal restraints.
as in "clap him in irons!"
"slang" doesn't mean any colloquial term folks.
Heck I have heard the term "Irons" in used by cowboys in westerns so I assume it is at least that old.
I mean "slammer" is slang for "prison" and it's a colloquial term afaik.
yeah i seen it used in westerns a lot.
I love the variation on the 'Now I'm radioactive' line. Also, hi 2099's Kid! You're totally French waffle press! 😎
Dude... Thats just disgusting, so not sewing machine
August 6, 2018: "They are going to be REALLY mad at you"
huh, I wonder what that's referring to.
June 20, 2019 (A Voice From the Dark Part 4): Oh. Oooooooooh.
Aaaand congrats! You're the first to catch it! =D
Congrats glad to see that was solved would not have put that together since I was not sure if that was canon
No its fine linkara i dont need to sleep right now
Hey, the 2090's Kid returns!
SEWING MACHINE
You think Linkara 2099 has met 2190s Kid?
I Prefer 2090'S Dude
We need to try and remember the "sewing machine" line and try to make it a thing when we closer to 2099
Yeah not many of us will be around then....have to get your kids involved
Don't know if anybody has said this yet but, Congrats on the UA-cam Silver Button!
Robitusson tastes horrible. Grew up on that crap having bronchitis all the time.
So, it's a 2099 curse word? ... I'm okay with this.
Is it basically just as bad as Marvel 2099's Shock?!!
WHAT THE SHOCK DOES ROBITUSSON MEAN?!!?
@@New3DSLuigi364 wow man why would you use the r word you bigot
And a particularly strong curse at that.
@@justanotheranimeprofilepic
WHAT THE SHOCK DOES THAT WORD EVEN MEAN?!!
@@arlenfreeman3439
I didn't say Retard, You Shocking Idiot; I Said Shocking Robitussin!!
That Paul Ryan joke Jim Sterling did never gets old.
Linkara: "Next week will be the return of the Kool-Aid man"
Me before realizing what he just said: "Oh yeah!"
90's kid is a master at the pronoun game
Ding! lol
Oh man, so much foreshadowing. It's gotta be for the anniversary storyline, right?
Also, I can't believe you used the R word. That is so not sewing machine.
He Didn't say Retard; he said ROBITUSSIN
@@New3DSLuigi364
It’s a joke.
5:33
DethStryke: Your first lesson, never announce your attack
*Goku, Naruto and a majority of Shonen anime takes notes*
1:57 “Because poor literacy is KEWL”
Never thought I’d hear the original again
Jay Arby, been subverted so often that straight is funnier. I love it when it swings back around like that ^_^
2:03
To be fair, would anyone not blame Paul Ryan (yes, that one) for that atrocity? He kind of deserves it.
I like Paul Ryan when he was doing Flash and Iron man. He's talented.
2099 Month was fun. I'm glad to see another comic from that era.
This is the first episode of AT4W that I'm watching on my PS4. I'm saying that, because I think it's awesome to watch my favorite web shows on my TV.
Nice job on the Paul Ryan joke.
Ravage has a garbage truck as his mode or transportation? ...$20 says that his attack phrase is *"GARBAGE DAY!"*
That laser wand reminds me of the one Dr. Linksano made for you back during the Battle for Bludhaven 3-part review.
I already know that Ravage 2099 will NEVER appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe 2099.
Another review that really pours hot sauce on the sewing machine!
(That means I enjoyed the review)
Cameron Grow how board are you?
The thing with Ravage is that so much changed over the course of the first few issues, the character we see here is nothing like what he becomes in a very short time. The first couple of issues are almost a bait and switch.
The penciller was Paul Ryan (not that one)? Was it THAT Paul Ryan or is it Paul Ryan (not that one, no not that one either?
I think it might be that one, but not probably that one.
It's the other one.
Has there ever been a good Paul Ryan? What's wrong, Ryan family?
7:34 Actually Linkara that was an example of an anachronistic slang. Iron is a 19th Century slang word for a Pistol, admittedly it's odd use of it as Iron is usually used to reefer to a revolver and not a Semi-Automatic Pistol.
So it’s similar to a sniper policing his brass?
I love how the 2099 continuity continues to make "shock" a curse word!
Okay we got some juicy hints to some future events:-
Linkara gets a new outfit
Someone will be sorry to Linkara over something he did to him
Linkara will do somthing that will make others upset with him
Let the fan theories begin ^^
Prepares to go to sleep or almost go to sleep
*SEES NOTIFICATION*
I AM WATCHING NOW!!!
Same here.
*clears throat* I have to…
Good job on getting the upload up 18 minutes before the day ends on your local time!
I'm just here to say SEWING MACHINE!
Actually Linkara using “iron” in place of “gun” is pretty old slang that already exists today, see the phrase “packing an iron” for an example.
8:26 Dude, what the squanch?! Why would you say something like that to him?! Not Tylenol man, NOT TYLENOL!
1TrulyMad chicken ramen am I right
Very un-sewing machine.
Did...
...did this series even have an editor...?
Keith Pixton I'm thinking he's referring to the comic . . .
Keith Pixton hah,
The comic
...sorry for the misconception...
The editors of marvel/DC are idiots.
Spider Doctor If it did, the editor didn't do his job. He just wanted to release Ravage 2099 # 2.
tencents6
That's what I'm implying...
I will admit though, I like seeing heroes build up their arsenal, bases, and whatnot. Small consolations.
Kool Aid Man Again.. OH NNOO!
Oh yeah!
Combat King 0 Indeed my friend indeed.
+JamesTheBrony/JTB
*OH YEAH!!! HERE COMES KOOL AID! HERE COMES KOOL AID! I'M GONNA SAVE THE DAY!!!*
Combat King 0 O_O *looks confused as to why he burst through a court room wall*
so after this paul ryan, not that one, flunked a PE test, and stopped working on comics, he went on to screw games reviewers through brash games?
A new 2099 comic review? SEWING MACHINE!!!
"Try not to be too mad at him, he really is sorry about it."
Plot twist, he was really talking about the Nostalgia Critic the entire time.
No, he was not.
@@AT4W I know, I just find it darkly humorous when fiction accidentally predicts real events.
Though I'm guessing he still hasn't actually apologised though.
I can't help but laugh at Ravage 2099, because I feel like it's supposed to be a parody of this genre of comics, even if that's not actually the case. I really hope to see more reviews of Ravage 2099 in the near future, that would be totally SEWING MACHINE! ...also, that Ghost Rider 2099 you teased at in your All-New Ghost Rider review.
9:26 -
This comic...
*Can Go SHOCK Itself!!*
13:05 - "Dude, your skin is really red."
Surprise twist, this guy is actually Red Skull 2099.
can you give 90s kid another episode? Maybe he gets the kool aid man? Or maybe something with Pepsi man in it
Or maybe see him finally finish Justice League Task Force.
Solidus-Skully good idea
Only if it's set in the future and we can get back the '90s dude from 2099
Sleep or linkara......sleep or linkara......sleep or linkara.....alright sleep you win this time
Tobias Jonsson you made a mistake. Linkara was totally worth it. (Kidding of course)
How fitting, I just finished watching all of your previous 2099 reviews. Clearly this means one of us can SEE THE FUTURE!
20:53-20:57
90s Dude: Also, try to go easy on him. He is truly sorry about it.
Linkara: Who?
Me after watching 'The Clone Saga Storyline': Well obviously, he was talking about Linksano.
Knowing the future-slang is written by Lewis looking around his desk now... I can almost place exactly when this was written. :P
The Rambo 20 film poster reminds me of the Ghostbusters 10 gag from the episode "Future Shock" of Godzilla the Series, where they end up in a post apocalyptic future where flying triceratops monsters called Dragma rule the earth, but at least its a timeline where the Ghostbusters film franchise managed to produce a successful string of sequels after part 2 in place of one bad reboot XD
So a guy concerned with saving the environment drives around in a creaky gas-guzzling garbage truck armed with waste he found all over town?
TheGrayMysterious it turns out, yes
Ah who needs sleep in 2099
3:22 Heh, love the Mortal Kombat movie reference... 3:42... okay, now that is basically a melted version of a Shokan (human/dragon hybrid, Goro's race).
You really need to teach 90's Dude how to tell you information from the future. Vague foreshadowing is the least helpful way he could tell you this stuff.
NOt quite least useful would be to make a prophecy
I spilled my drink when you said "... Paul Ryan, not that one" XD
2:05 Well of course, if House speaker Paul Ryan was involved, then the book would have no spine.
Hi linkara I just rewatched you movie and man you outdid yourself Lewis. It's been 10 years and the AT4W channel shall live on
That description for the next episode, before you revealed it would be more Kool-Aid Man, had me thinking you must have found a secret issue of Marville.
Surprise jim sterling reference makes me happy.
yes I had to wate 4 years for RAVAGE 2099 part 2 & im glad linkara prevailed .
"Paul Ryan -- not that one."
I get that reference! 😮
Marvel Method clearly at work here. A disinterested Stan was clearly just adding dialogue to a 90's comic artist's 90's interpretation of whatever vague plot he came up with.
5:38 Thanks for the Princess Bride reference. My favorite movie!
Actually, the Irons thing makes sense as slang for guns. Mainly because it seems to have come from the older term of "shooting irons" which is already slang for pistols, originating from westerns...
I love 2090's Kid's hat.
You know it's a bad sign when your villain's philosophy is "FRIKEN NORMIES REEEEEEEE"
I love that you included a Paul Ryan (not that one) joke :D
3:10 Tron Legacy OST is always a win in my book!
"Iron" has always been slang for "gun". Check a potboiler or two sometime from the 40's. Also, "ventilate" has also been a slang for shooting someone for a long long time, too.
Yeah Harvey shoudl have told him that
Oh cool! Another new outfit! Can’t wait to see it!
oh my god, voice in the dark!
Radical foreshadowing is the best foreshadowing.
You know what'd be cool? If it was revealed that Deathstryk is actually Magneto in disguise, affected by radiation so he was both a mutant AND a mutroid. I mean, his characterization is basically identical anyway.
I'm working a nine hour shift at the daycare today.
(Sees new episode of AtFW)
Oh boy, oh boy! My day got even better.
A motte? How about #MakeMutantkindGreatAgain
It's hard to tell if all of this is foreshadowing or fore-brick-throwing. And it's great.
I loved your use of Daft Punk! YES!
Looking forward to seeing what (20)90's Kid and 90's Dude have foreshadowed about the future.
Dethstryk is literally REE NORMIES the supervillain. XD
"Paul Ryan, not that one." Ha! Cute Jim Sterling reference ;)
Cool, a new "Because poor literacy is, kewl" graphic. Kinda miss the other one though. The mishmashed letters helped make the misplellings stand out more.
Eh its still pretty good
All these years avoiding "the more colorful swear words" and you just drop a hard Robbatussen on a guy
Are you even the Linkara we know? What have you done with him you monster
Nice Silver Playbutton behind you. ;)
Sporting the Silver Play Button in your background now. You deserve it. :)
8:26 - Holy shit, Linkara just dropped the N-bomb. O_O
Man, I love this channel ,where you could look back at the 90's and wonder what the hell comicbook writers was smoking when they come up with characters like Ravage.
When the comic says mutoiads or whatever, all I can picture is Mutons attacking a 2099 character.
Oh hey, Linkara got a silver play button! Congrats man!
2099 90s KID RETURNS!!!
Dude, "Drop the irons" isn't future slang. Calling guns "shooting irons" or just "irons" is dates back at least to the old west.
So, if anything it's some really old-timey slang for 2099.
I hope we get to meet 1890s Kid once day
How could returning to Ravage 2099 could get more awesome? The return of 2099 90’s Kid!
Very happy to see a new video, but why are you uploading this at midnight?
Nash 2099: "Oh boy, this is quite the story. Former Alchemax Eco-Patrol executive makes a superhero costume out of garbage, assaults several Eco-Patrol officers, robs Alchemax facilities and rams a garbage truck into a store to steal a bulletproof vest. I keep telling you people New York these days is like Florida in the 2010s, but no one believes me!"
I love that Stormer shares his name with one of the Misfits from Jem. Also, the guys using "ventilate" are not really future slang, at least not in my book since I've seen other shows and whatnot use it has a term meaning, "fill someone full of bullet holes".
Yay more 2099
Oh god Linkara’s getting ANOTHER new outfit? Already too? I honestly can’t wait to see!
Kleenex review Linkara.
noticed a couple amusing things in the background : Stanley's follies and Lieber Discount Furnature
I feel oddly compelled that "iron" used to reference guns is not a new bit of slang they made up, or at least it was used in reference to guns before they made it up. I point you to the song "Big Iron" by Marty Robbins (which I mostly know about thanks to Fallout New Vegas). A man in the song has a "big iron" on his hip, which he explicitly uses to shoot an outlaw.
I don't know what is more terrifying: the presence of cartoony evil politicians in the world state coughTrumpcough, or the fact that there's a comic about Kool-Aid Man. Also, I thought 90s Kid changed his name after the last fight with the Entity.
