Welp, I took a huge leap and got my own shop! Now I can have a home base to continue building big ol' choppy v8 powered machines and film content for you guys. Its not very big so we are going to have to get creative with the space to fit 3 cars in it while being able to film. Luckily my friends over at Bendpak and Ghost shield are coming on board to help get this place set up. Oh and the best part about this whole thing is that we are right next door to Suppy and they boys! Its starting to feel like the old Hoonigan shop already. Stay tuned for updates as I continue to build this space out.

as much as you can, keep everything on wheels. all the cabinets, all the benches, as much storage, etc.
your concern about long ass vehicle backing into the lift area is valid, but if you can wheel things out of the way for a bit it makes all the difference in the world.
i'm still stuck in a 20x20 2 bay garage at home (fuck this town with a 40' pineapple) and I made sure everything on my side of the garage is on wheels. I can literally empty my bay of EVERYTHING, and roll it into the wife's (with her car outside obviously), but it makes a MASSIVE difference when I need to do crazy shit like yank motors and transmissions. oh and it makes the annual cleanup easier too. :D

Dude, you can put storage racking on the bit you need free for longer cars to access the ramp, just don't put the first level until 4-5ft above ground and run a 10-12ft beam so you have a empty void to swing round in. I have a small shop and I keep my guillotine and folder under pallet racking that starts at just over head height, and there's motor's and transmissions and all sorts on pallets above. I also park my forklift partially under a different rack to save space.
