This is Denice (daughter in the video). I am SO HAPPY that our story is being shared...literally all over the globe! My mom and dad raised four children and did a damn good job providing for all of us. My mom died in 1988 at the age of 44. Dad was left to raise my third brother and I as a single parent. He sacrificed so much working midnights full-time and we did our best to carry on without my mom. A part of my dad died when mom passed. Then dad started having health issues and to make life even harder, my brother Zane passed in 2004 at the age of 32. Another piece of dad went with him. I know comment sections on UA-cam are open to public responses from viewers who can only comment on what they are seeing but do not have any history on the back story. It's easy for keyboard warriors online to post crass remarks saying it's a shame to see a car end up like the Monte did but there is ALWAYS a back story and often times it's because life has knocked the wind and will out of a person. I'm thankful that my dad is still with us! He's 81 now. He proudly served our Nation during the Vietnam era too! He loved his wife, loved and raise his four children into adulthood and made sure we all were raised to be valuable members of society. To have WD Detailing and Cleveland Power and Performance pour their hearts and souls into this project leaves me unable to find the right words to express my gratitude! For those in my generation, love on your parents, mend whatever may be broken and let them feel what my dad has in this video. They are worth it! My Dad is WORTH it! ❤🇺🇸❤
Hi miss Denice! I'm so sorry for your losses. But you did great by getting this beautiful car back on the road for your dad. Your dad's reaction made me legit cry. God bless you both and tell your dad he's awesome from all of us here at Exotic Detailing Puerto Rico ❤❤❤

My dad worked at the General Motors plant in Arlington Tx when these cars were built. He got a white 84 Monte Carlo SS new off the line. Then the next year my sister got a white 85 Monte Carlo SS new off the line. The following summer we took a family vacation road trip with my mom and dad and my sister and her husband in both of the cars. My dad retired from General Motors and passed away in 2014. Had an 86 Monte Carlo SS which was a sweet car, burgundy over burgundy interior, but years later after lusting after the 86 and 87 Grand Nationals, my cousin had one brand new, I finally was able to own 3 of them at one time. Still have 2 of them and are a complete joy to own and drive!

Of all the YT videos I’ve watched, never have I been as touched by this one! I’m a retired auto mechanic who learned and thrived on 80’s cars- especially GM’s. So thanks first to Denise’s dad for serving in our military, and secondly to you guys for attention to detail in the restoration of this car! Great job guys and a new sub!
I am an old retired guy, and I love to watch these "barn find" videos and especially the clean-up and details. This is one of the best I've ever seen-- not only did the car look and run amazing, but to make an old guys' day... well, there aren't enough words! Seeing this car makes me appreciate my 87 SS 10x more. drove it 200 miles last month when I went on a small road trip and it handled it like a champ, no problems at all, still original motor and interior. I would never sell my car in a million years. 🎉
Definitely appreciate it. I had an 87 SS Aerocoupe with T-tops that I bought my senior year in high school in 2003. But sadly had to sell it like 5 years later because I needed the money to survive. I still regret it to this day. When I purchased It, it had been sitting under the trees in a neighbors yard for a few years and was covered in dirt, leaves, moss and mold and the white paint was barely visible under it all. It didn't run but only had 60k original miles and the interior was dusty but mint. The owner said it ran when he parked it but not well and only had it a couple years before he parked it and didn't really know much about it other than it was rare because of the Aerocoupe, and sold it to me for $3,500. We towed it home and got it running again by just cleaning the contacts in the distributor. Then came the full cleaning which took forever but it looked brand new when I was done. Then as we dove deeper we found out it had a 4 barrel Holly carb and an Edelbrock intake manifold, aftermarket distributor and the computer and emissions were deleted. Then on the first drive the trans shifts very hard and fast and we realize it's even got a shift kit installed. Then we find out that it's got a posi rear end which was not standard on the ss and either optioned that way or added later. We also suspected that it had other internal modifications done as well like a cam as it had a bit of a chop at idle and who knows what else because we never had a reason to look deeper but the main evidence there was possibly more done is that it was fast. Like way faster than a stock n/a 305ho by quite alot. I have no idea what power it made but stock is 180hp and my friend had a 93 mustang gt with intake and exhaust and stock they made 245hp so his was probably 260hp maybe and had the lighter cobra wheels and a fiberglass cowl hood which would put his car close to 700 lbs lighter than mine and we were dead even in a race until over 100 and I would start to pull away just a bit. Best guess was that it was around 300hp and even more torque. I even put the tires off my dad's 81 corvette on it that were way wider than factory and it was still a burnout monster. My favorite story is when my friends uncle was talking shit and saying "it's only a 305 and they're shit and I needed to get a 350 before I'd stand a chance to his car." Then he pointed at the burnout marks his car made down the road and said "With those wide ass tires I bet it can't even do a little burnout" He ate his words that day. I power braked it for a second and then let off the brake and took off down the road in the longest smokiest burnout any of us had ever seen. It was probably an 8th of a mile long. He tried saying I just power braked it in first the whole way but we walked down the street and you could see a break in the marks where it shifted to second and then third. It was also the fastest I have ever been in a car but because the speedo stops at 115 I have no idea how fast it was but I had it pinned for awhile past that and it became very floaty and apparently that happens around 140-150. Sorry for the long story but I rarely find another person with love for an 87 ss I can share my stories with. When did you get yours?
@@travispoulin252 read it all, I appreciate you sharing your story, I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading it. I’m glad you were able to experience owning one of them, not everyone can say that. Truly amazing story brother. 💪
I'm the 2nd owner of an '87 Aerocoupe, since '91. Don't drive it much anymore, but this makes me want to spend more time in it and working on it. You guys did a great job...especially since he served our country.
I worked at a Chevrolet Dealership in the 80s . I was a Detailer and did PDI.Pre Delivery inspections. I got to drive a lot of Monte Carlos. We had to road test them after Inspection...That was fun...Being a young man then. It's one of my favorites for sure. Thanks for bringing back some memories. Great video and nice work.
Back in 1991 when I was 21, I had a black '81 Monte that had this same exact color interior with the same bucket seats. Didn't have the floor shifter as it was a column shift automatic & the only exterior differences were that mine had no rear deck wing, no side ground effects and the standard Monte Carlo nose. I remember at one point I had paint masked the car off and sprayed all the exterior chrome bits ( minus the rims ) so the whole car was just jet black, looked so badass, kinda like a Gran National. Seeing this car come back to life reminds of my own & sure brings back some great memories with it. Thanks so much for detailing this car so well guys, you're the best!😁👍
Holy Crap, tears just rolled down my face. Awesome video, great emotional ending. I have seen a lot of detail videos from various detailers on UA-cam but you guys are the most enjoyable to watch.
My dad had an 85 Monte Carlo SS that looked identical to this one and it is one of my earliest memories. I have LOVED that model ever since and would give anything to get my hands on one. Some day!!!! Excellent job making it beautiful again, it was a great video.
I'm not crying, you're crying. I loved this video. Car stories like this are the best. Denise, thank you so much for bringing this project to WD. And thank you for sharing your family story. Your parents did a great job. Please thank your dad for his service, parenting and great taste in cars!
Gibsonsgpilot, thank you for your kind words and I will pass them on to my Dad. He and I are still pinching ourselves that the car is out of the kitchen (literally) and with us here in a nice clean garage where we can continue to love on it and enjoy it well into the future. It's so surreal! I honestly never thought anything like this could ever happen. When vehicles are parked for an extended amount of time due to life situations, it can seem like all is lost. Then by the INCREDIBLE resource of the internet, we have crews like WD Detailing and Cleveland Power and Performance that have the passion and drive to take what looks like a shabby dog needing a big-time grooming and WOW...just no words!!!!
Wow seeing the owners reaction at the end was priceless! I was crying when his daughter drove him in the car! I was 9 months old when this car was parked and it cleaned up extremely well! Thank you guys for making this gentleman extremely exited!
The best Detail and Reveal I've ever seen on UA-cam, the gentleman who owns the car really deserved this surprise because he took such phenomenal care of the machine before parking it.
I remember when these Monte Carlos came out and I have always wanted one ever since, a beautifully designed chevy. The black and red decals were the coolest in the day and still look great. Nice job cleaning it.
I've been hooked on your videos for the past month or so you guys do a terrific job. I don't know anything about detailing but it's just fun to watch and I enjoyed the interaction between you all. You guys are a class act but you don't take yourself too seriously. You have humility in what you do and you're very good to the people you are helping out and they can't always be easy to work with.
This video shows all the GOOD in people and was much needed considering whats going on around the world. This is one of the best episodes ive watched on this channel. Well done to all!
This was so cool to watch , this car is a survivor, it brings the best of the past to life again, the car was in good shape and taken care of if it would of had a car cover on it ,it would have been outstanding, what you did for this family and her dad was fantastic you and those motor jockeys are the best 👍🏼 thanks for taking us along on the journey!
This Channels evolution is truly amazing. I was onboard since day 1 and to see these guys traveling across the USA transforming cars as well as peoples lives is AMAZING.
This is Denice from the video. The WDD crew is VERY respectful and that's something my Dad told me after we surprised him. You can tell they all grew up being formed to show respect and revere elders. Our society at large may not reflect this but there ARE good younger adults still with us. May we keep doing our part to be good examples for them to model after.
All I can say is "Wow" but wow doesn't even describe true words. I myself own a 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe & am the original owner buying it brand new. It is my dream car & seeing this video really struck home. Mine is silver with t-tops & I truly enjoy driving it. My only wish that GM could've done better when they built these Montes is to have a 350 under the hood instead of the 305. My Aerocoupe under went a restoration to preserve my baby since it was my only means of transport so I couldn't let this car go to the scrapper. My only other dream car would be another Monte Carlo SS. Thanks for the video-really enjoyed it!
I worked across the street from the Arlington, Texas Gm plant from 1986-1990. I loved watching these SS Monte Carlos roll out brand new. They also built the cutless 442 there. Great memories ❤
Been watching you guys for a couple years now. I lost my grandfather a few months ago. Just before he passed he got into a vehicle accident and totaled his truck. He needed a vehicle badly and he traded his 06 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic for a new truck with a good friend of ours. After his passing I detailed his Harley in my garage and over the course of a week we went through everything on the bike. When we pulled it back out into the sunlight for the first time it took me back to my childhood days when I would see him pull up to my house on it. I was in tears when I seen the paint glitter and shine while the chrome reflected perfectly. I wish he was around to see it. I’m the only detailer to ever touch that bike other than himself. I still have extra parts and I’m the only detailer the bike goes too. The story of this Monte Carlo in the video hits hard. I’m so glad those people found WD Detailing. You guys do an amazing job. If anyone’s curious the bike is posted up on my TikTok Mello Dynamics.
Thank's WD Detailling Guys ,more that auto clean ,this history it's a Big Heart ❤ Very Emotion Family history. Great Video. Excelent Job. Always Fall yours videos ! Regards from México 🇲🇽🙏 Congratulations !💯👌👍✌️👏
This was a awesome video I used to have a 85 SS...myself I love them Monte Carlos and I also had a 73 and 87 Much love to the guys who brought it back to life again
My grandpa, dad and brother all own G-Bodies. '82 Monte Carlo, '87 Grand Prix, '84 Hurst Olds. This generation of American muscle cars hold a special place in my heart. Every time I see one, they make me feel close to my family no matter where I am. Super cool to see one being stored and appreciated like my family appreciates ours.
I had a 87’ Monte Carlo SS with T Tops as a teenager. One of the coolest cars I ever had. Coincidentally, it was also the year my crush finally gave me a chance 😂.
Denice here from the video. We are putting TLC into the car and just last night in the garage here I looked at the car and said to myself, "She was born a 'head turner' and will be again when she's ready to be back out on the roads again." A beautiful car like this envokes so many emotions. I absolutely love it! ❤
The transformation is amazing! his reaction is so wholesome but by far my favorite part is his daughter, his little girl holding his hand and doing such a kind thing for him 😩😩🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
A car is sometimes more than a car - it's a family heirloom and a whole bunch of fond memories wrapped up in it. I still have my late father's 1964 Ford Galaxie 500.
My first car was a 1985 Monte Carlo SS, loved that car. The motor went, and at the time I had no money to replace it, so it became one with the ground unfortunately. I still have it though, a sad reminder of better times. My Father has a mint, all original 1986 Monte Carlo SS, bought it brant new, only has about 40, 000 km on it. Original everything, even the tires. Still has the new car smell, lol. Thanks for featuring an ss monte, I feel they don't get the love they deserve/
This is Denice from the video. I agree 100%. So many want to bash the 305 V8 but my parents didn't get the car to see how fast it could rip and tear. They got it because the LOVED the design and look of the car ❤. They loved it and never ever beat it. ❤
@@tkdterp8 Denice I am especially happy for you and your dad! I worked at G Body assembly in Pontiac Michigan where all G Bodies were eventually built until the very end which I witnessed on second shift December of 1987. The Monte Carlo production was shifted to Pontiac Mi sometime in late 1985 from Arlington Texas. The olds were transferred from Lansing Mi at one point also and I assume Buick Regal from Flint. The bodies came from Fisher Body in Flint Mi and were trucked down I75 to Pontiac. My dad bought a 1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic all black and left it to me as his legacy I cherish it.I lived that legacy of working at G Body assy.
A restoration is never that simple in my real life experience, but it's a beautiful and heart healing story that brought tears to my eyes. All Good !!!
This is Denice from the video. Rest assured that the Monte Carlo SS will be gone through top to bottom and front to back before it is out on the roads taking gentle cruises and appearing in local car shows. We will do it right and it won't be quick. ❤
This restoration project is a shining example of your extraordinary talent and dedication. Every detail has been meticulously restored, resulting in a car that’s both beautiful and historically significant
Denice!! Can’t believe it’s you on one of my favorite detailing shows. Ha ha. Denice helped train me to get my black belt in taekwondo, she is a third degree BB. And total bad ass!! Love the video! Take care Denice miss you❤❤.
What a sweet car! Kudos to the owner for keeping it out of the weather all these years. It’s amazing how much dust and dirt can get on a car sitting inside a garage!
@@mattpruss8141 Didn’t realize they asked that question, they rattle on so much about things, I guess I missed that part. All the G bodies are just cake decorated cars anyway, but to each their own.
My dad is retired Chevy dealership parts manager, so I grew up in the Chevy world. So my favorite G-body is a Monte SS. I had an '85 Grand Prix with a built race motor that I loved, but the Monte was always a dream car.
You guys are the best. To see where you’ve started from until today shows just how hard you’ve worked & how much you care about the people & their vehicles. This one definitely hits home because my dad is a Vietnam vet as well.
This was a truly delightful and heartwarming video. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. As a first-time viewer, I am compelled to subscribe to your channel.
The Areo Coupe came about because the Ford Thunderbird was kicking it's ass in Nascar competition. The SS also was inspired for stock car racing. The nose piece has aftermarket versions that are used all over the US in grassroots stock car racing.
Beautiful detailing great to see it still running strong 💪Those 80's - 90's GM muscle cars like the Monte Carlo, Firebird, Camaro and Buick Regal T-Type and even the Impala/ Caprice have been collectors cars since they deubted but these days they are valuable since they're fairly rare now.
my grandfather had my aunt in 82. she has rett syndrome. my grandpa stopped everything when she was born. my grandma didn’t want anything to do with her and divorced him. i’ve now gotten his 47 and 51 chevy truck back running. i love watching stuff like this

You may not sell it but eventually someone will
I worked at a Chevrolet Dealership in the 80s .
I'm not crying. It's just a little breeze that hit my eyes. Job well done WD, Denice and family. Great restoration and video. 💪💪
Damn breeze got me too
It Sting's, what is this substance leaking from my face...😎
The Monte Carlo SS is a gem of a car
This one was so great
The reveal was everything 😎🙏

my favorite G body
I was 16 when the Monte Carlo SS came out, absolute beauty, àllways wanted one. This brings me back to 1985.
@@tommcdonough6086 This is Denice from the video. Yes, I agree. It totally takes me back in time to 1985 with my family and the car
Brings a tear to my eye. The body gets old, but the spirit always stays young.
Amen to that my friend! ❤

Anyone else shed a tear? He was so happy.
I did lol a grown man

Thanks for your service sir well deserved
Love how he said “is that OURS” such a wonderful family man.
Great video guys! Love to see you saving that Gbody for the original owner and now the family can enjoy it again!
This video shows all the GOOD in people and was much needed considering whats going on around the world. This is one of the best episodes ive watched on this channel. Well done to all!
This was one of your best, guys! So heartwarming seeing a family treasure coming back to life ❤
This was so cool to watch , this car is a survivor, it brings the best of the past to life again, the car was in good shape and taken care of if it would of had a car cover on it ,it would have been outstanding, what you did for this family and her dad was fantastic you and those motor jockeys are the best 👍🏼 thanks for taking us along on the journey!
This Channels evolution is truly amazing. I was onboard since day 1 and to see these guys traveling across the USA transforming cars as well as peoples lives is AMAZING.
Seeing the owners reaction is PURE GOLD. Love it everytime we get to see their reaction.
I don't think I've ever seen a monte carlo SS with pin stripes on the spoiler ‼️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shout out to you guys from Ohio. Thanks for all of your hard work and the great life lessons in helping deserving people like this!!
Apart from being an enjoyable video & the SS is an all time classic, it’s nice to see the younger generation still showing respect by using “Sir”.
Great job ,still haunts me to this day all those tv shows that wrecked classic cars instead of restoring
It shows again that cars aren't just something to drive from A to B for everyone. GOOD JOB! 😍👌🏻
I love the sped up cleaning sequences 👍🏽 always relaxes me
Awww this is such a sweet ending! So glad you guys could help them
Léon from the Netherlands here. You guys are amazing! I am a car cleaner as a hobby. I defenitly love your work!!
I worked across the street from the Arlington, Texas Gm plant from 1986-1990.
I loved watching these SS Monte Carlos roll out brand new.
They also built the cutless 442 there.
Great memories ❤
This is exactly the kind of content I always hope to find. Uplifting and kind. Made me smile. Made me cry. Gave me hope.
Thank's WD Detailling Guys ,more that auto clean ,this history it's a Big Heart ❤
Very Emotion Family history.
Great Video.
Excelent Job.

Congratulations !💯👌👍✌️👏
This was a awesome video
I used to have a 85 SS...myself I love them Monte Carlos and I also had a 73 and 87
Much love to the guys who brought it back to life again
My grandpa, dad and brother all own G-Bodies. '82 Monte Carlo, '87 Grand Prix, '84 Hurst Olds. This generation of American muscle cars hold a special place in my heart. Every time I see one, they make me feel close to my family no matter where I am. Super cool to see one being stored and appreciated like my family appreciates ours.
Damn, now you guys made me cry. What a reveal!
Like I said before you guys are the nicest people all around to family a family get back their good memories back
I had a 87’ Monte Carlo SS with T Tops as a teenager. One of the coolest cars I ever had. Coincidentally, it was also the year my crush finally gave me a chance 😂.
It's a beautiful thing when kids do something great for there parents ❤
This car always turned heads. Such a beautiful piece of engineering and design.
Denice here from the video. We are putting TLC into the car and just last night in the garage here I looked at the car and said to myself, "She was born a 'head turner' and will be again when she's ready to be back out on the roads again." A beautiful car like this envokes so many emotions. I absolutely love it! ❤
Mike, I agree. Cars now seem to look more alike from brand to brand. There was so much more 'personality' in car design back in the day!
The transformation is amazing! his reaction is so wholesome but by far my favorite part is his daughter, his little girl holding his hand and doing such a kind thing for him 😩😩🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
What a heart warming video fellas. Best of luck for the future.

A car is sometimes more than a car - it's a family heirloom and a whole bunch of fond memories wrapped up in it. I still have my late father's 1964 Ford Galaxie 500.
Guys, you've really outdone yourselves. I think this is your best video yet. Congratulations on a job very well done
God bless the old generation…they deserve every bit of happiness and contentment at that age 🙏🏽
Adding the Power and Performance crew to the videos, is a nice and welcome aspect to them.
@@markchwala I just read this and shared it with my dad. Thank you so much for sharing your story here! 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for helping this man and his family out you guys rock
I graduated in 1985, I love the Monte Carlo SS...
I always had a thing for the 78-81 Malibu G-body. But i like all G-body cars.Love seeing videos like this.
Love how you both take care of that little pigeon. I loved watching this!

Hurst olds and 442 . There's a special feel in an Oldsmobile
This isn’t an Olds.

So, was a competitor of Buick GNX, now, this car is timeless, it never gets old.
As an owner of a 87 GN back then. No competition speed wise. But definitely a 442.
My dad is retired Chevy dealership parts manager, so I grew up in the Chevy world. So my favorite G-body is a Monte SS. I had an '85 Grand Prix with a built race motor that I loved, but the Monte was always a dream car.
Favorite G-Body. Had a 84’ Monroe Carlo SS myself when I was 17. I’ll have one again someday soon
You guys are the best. To see where you’ve started from until today shows just how hard you’ve worked & how much you care about the people & their vehicles. This one definitely hits home because my dad is a Vietnam vet as well.
Watching the seats being cleaned was the visual equivalent of popping bubble wrap.
Memories of the car for us Gen X set.
This was a truly delightful and heartwarming video. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. As a first-time viewer, I am compelled to subscribe to your channel.
"THANKS A MILLION" was said with so much love and appreciation. Well Done WD Team!
My Dad loves deeply. ❤
The family's reaction spoke volumes, enough said.
Best video I seen in a while! ❤❤❤
Loving the 1986 MC SS Aerocoupe. Only 200 produced that year. Most either love it or hate it
The Areo Coupe came about because the Ford Thunderbird was kicking it's ass in Nascar competition. The SS also was inspired for stock car racing. The nose piece has aftermarket versions that are used all over the US in grassroots stock car racing.
Обычно я улыбаюсь когда смотрю видео от этих двух рукастых пацанов, но сегодня я плакал. Молодцы! Спасибо за букет положительных эмоций.
