James and Sarah here, back with another episode in our van build series. This week we’re powering on with insulating and installing the van subfloor. So we’re framing out the floor, cutting up more foam board insulation and fixing down the plywood van flooring.
We have a few hiccups but things feel a little easier this week, even with the weather still proving to be a menace.
If you’d like a more detailed explanation on how we chose and installed our sprinter van conversion insulation check out this blog post on our website: thewholeworldornothing.com/in...
Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this episode don’t forget to hit that thumbs up & don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss the next one.

This is the reality that no one shows. One of the best on UA-cam, well done guys. You're inspiring me more and more with each video. You make an awesome couple too.

I just *really* love how methodical you guys are. Numbering each piece!

We got quite geeky about it tbh 😅 But doing little things like that makes it so much easier and quicker in the long term

Re the rain - in the US we can buy these kind of plastic DIY "carports". People use them to cover their boats and RVs when they don't have proper garages, but it could do for providing a temporary dry workspace. Google "cheap rv covering tent".

That’s exactly what we should have bought! Definitely something we would buy if we were to do it again 🙂

We’re just about to measure up (with no pre existing floor template) our van floor ready to cut the plywood. You guys are always out first reference point! You definitely made it look suspiciously easy though😂

Ah thank you, that’s very kind! We hope the cutting went well!! Let us know how you get on, we’d love to see. Good luck 😀🙌

Considering all the future cutting etc. you will be doing in rainy England it may be well worth investing in one of those pop up canopies

We’d certainly recommend anyone building one outside over the winter months to get one of those!

Hey team, love your channel it's really helping us with our sprinter conversion.
One question about your floor joints.. the legend that is Greg virgoe uses some wooden bevels to create a joint between the pieces of ply wood and I notice you haven't, now you've been living and adventuring in your van for a while now, has this omission given you any issues?
    Thanks again
    Luke and Lou

Hi guys! So glad you’re finding our stuff useful 😀
Yeah Greg Virgoe is the don, for sure. And he’s absolutely right on this too. We have a small lip where our boards meet which, while it doesn’t bother us on a daily basis, we know it’s there and for people like us it is quite annoying 😅
If your pieces of board are perfectly flat then you’d potentially not have a problem. Ours were bowed when we put them in but I remember thinking that they would probably flatten out with time - they haven’t.
So for the sake of quite a minor added bit of work we’d probably recommend adding the biscuit joints in.
Good luck and let us know if there’s anything else we can help with!!

@@TheWholeWorldorNothing thanks for taking the time to reply guys. We were lazily hoping it wouldn't be a problem but will take your advice and do it properly now! 😄

This frame on the floor of the car is probably a joke with the viewers or you have no idea how it's done .....
