I'm in the process of converting a 2017 Sprinter into a campervan and so far I've been using Greg Virgoe's videos as a guide, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of your videos. Your approach is completely different from Greg's, but I do like the humor and the way you tackle problems. What also strikes me is how easily you (seem to) work together and complement each other. Wonderful stuff so I subbed. ATB from Belgium.
Yes Greg Virgoe is the godfather of sprinter conversions! You can probably tell from some of the techniques and methods we’ve used we also drew on him a fair amount. A fantastic resource. But we definitely didn’t set out to do instructional videos, largely because, unlike Greg, we didn’t have a clue what we were doing 😅 So we’re also pleasantly surprised that people are getting some value from them 😊 We think the fact that we have worked together for the past five years probably helped us with this project but honestly there were lots of times when it really pushed us to the limit! There were plenty of arguments and disagreements along the way that we didn’t film. What stage is your van at?! Really excited for you, it’s such a great feeling when you complete it. Thanks for the sub too 👍
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing Hi James & Sarah! Thanks for the quick reply. I'm at the stage where I've insulated the floor, walls and ceiling, including that so-called pizza oven in the driver's cab. The side trims are sealed up, the unistrut roof rack is installed, the roof vents and windows are ready. By the way I really like those little side windows you have installed but here in Belgium they are impossible to find and UK companies don't ship them over. Materials are costing an arm and a leg over here. Covid is defenitely making some people very rich.. So still have a lot of things to do but I take my time. Thanks for the time and effort you have put in your videos and I hope to once meet you somewhere in Europe or even Brittain because I am very fond of nature and English history. And now I'm off. Duty is calling..😁
You motioned that you'd put up a video of the gas connection i.e. to the cooker - which video is that (title)? Great video thanks - interesting how you solved the problem of making a cabinet, with an integral gas dropout!
Ohhhhhh coming along nicely! 🤗😍🚐 I would add a round layer of fine stainless steel screen to that hole for the gas box... you don’t want bugs to crawl in there, especially ants or the kind which burrows in wood! 😱
We’ve had a few people say similar now, it’s starting to make us paranoid 😂 We’ll definitely look into doing that though, bugs is the last thing we want 👍
Great video guys hope you don't get ants and spiders coming up and in through the drop out perhaps a bit of thin gauze over it should stop that just a thought take care.
We don’t have the measurements to hand I’m afraid, it is in the specifications of the oven though so if you can find the depth of that in it’s specifications, it’s the same 👍
Hey hope your both well and enjoying van life x How does the gas drop out work ? Is Gas heavy enough that if it leaks it drops towards the ground and through the drop out ? Thank you in advance x
Thanks 😊 We’re actually putting out the gas installation video (including the cooker) tomorrow, so you’ll see in more detail if you watch that. But in short, we left a longish S shaped piece of pipe coming through the floor which allowed enough flex to connect the oven to it using the provided connector which has nuts and olives to tighten up,and then just pushed the oven in once we’d done that. That S shaped loop of pipe also means if anything goes wrong we can slide it out and disconnect it pretty easily without damaging anything. Hope that explains it but let us know if you need more info 👍
Mainly UA-cam! We literally watched videos every day on how to do each different thing and taught ourselves as we went along 👍 We’ve never been to Cyprus but would love to visit one day.
Thank you 😊 The condensation took us a little while to get to grips with but after a lot of research we figured out that keeping it at bay comes down to two things - sufficient heat and good ventilation. So we use the fan, especially important when cooking and showering and tend to have a minimum of one window cracked to provide the ventilation. Heat isn’t a problem other than in winter but we hate the cold anyway so tend to have the heater on a lot which solves that part 👍
Hi guys we bought same cooker just found your channel and subscribed. lovely van build 🏴👍🏻🏴
Brilliant guys. It’s looking better and better
Thanks! It definitely felt like it was coming together at this stage.
Vi seguo dall’Italia 😊 Good jobs guys
Grazie mille! 😀

🤣🤣😅 well at least we know they wouldn’t fit up there 😀

😳 we thought about mice but we’d never considered ants or spiders! Will look into that gauze for sure 👍

Do you sell the plan/ measurements for your unit for the cooker?

@@TheWholeWorldorNothing that’s great I was stumped as with the box for the drawer been in the way .. looking forward to tomorrow’s video 😁
Haha yeah so were we before we installed it, we actually had to ask the guys who we bought our gas tank from what was the best way to go about it 😅
@@TheWholeWorldorNothing 😂😂
Nice , I would ad something like a mash that no small bucks can come in .
We’re looking into that, definitely don’t want any bugs getting in! Cheers 😊

good video as always, I have a question. On winter days, how do you deal with the problem of condensation in the van?
Thank you 😊

Yes thank you, much better now 😀
