    So tell us, would you go for a fixed bed or a convertible bed? And why?

    • @jamesleyland4359
      @jamesleyland4359 3 роки тому +1

      Deffo a fixed bed because i’m too lazy to set the bed up every night and take it down in the morning !

      Fixed so I can have the garage space

      The garage space is such a winner for us! So useful 👍

      Yeah we can’t even imagine having to set up and take down the bed twice a day 🤣 (we tend to have a 30 min afternoon power nap most days)!

      I'm planning a convertible bed since I need a decent office space for working part time - I'm hoping I don't regret it.

    Have very much been enjoying your videos. I know it must be so much work to do the build, film, and edit. Thanks for all you do!!

    Finally collected my Sprinter on Thursday so the fun has just started for me. Reverse camera went in today, came with the bit yours was missing and I wired it for full time viewing. Definitely a fixed bed for me complete with garage space underneath and I'm also going to be doing the wardrobes in a similar style to your build. Thanks for all the inspiration you two have given me to do this.

      Oh amazing stuff 🙌👏👏👏 Good idea on the permanent feed for the camera, can imagine that will come in useful. We’re so happy that you’ve got some useful stuff from us too 😀 so nice to hear.

    I would put side of the mat where you cut against the back instead of exposed.

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing

      We did try it that way round but because it was against the square wood it didn’t look straight. The coconut coir sheds quite a bit at first but settles down after a while so it’s all stayed in tact and you can’t tell that the front isn’t completely straight anymore because it’s been trodden on and kind of moulded to the shape of the step 👍

      We were a day late last week so thought we’d even things out 😆 We haven’t got simply safe but we do have a movement activated camera that sends us a notification when triggered. And we have various other security stuff too. It’s definitely great for peace of mind, especially with so many camper van thefts happening at the moment!

    • @kallienielsen3898

      @@TheWholeWorldorNothing ahh that makes sense. lol. GOOD TO KNOW! Glad to know that you both are being safe ant your taking good measures to keep the van safe too!

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому

      It was and still is a huge concern for us, we’d be so gutted if anything happened to it after all the time and effort we put into it! We’ve even added a few more security devices since we finished it 😀 None of them are individually perfect but our thinking is that the more annoying and fiddly we make it to break into, the more likely they won’t bother 🤞

    We have a fixed bed and love all the space for storage in the garage underneath. If we arrive late at a destination it’s just pull up and bed is ready and waiting for us. We do have a two seater type of couch facing the sliding door with a table also to eat at and admire our surroundings.

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому

      Exactly the same as us, we find the storage is invaluable and the convenience of not having to make a bed at the end of a long day isn’t something we’d give up now.

    Looks great as usual ! The trick with the tape is to remove it before the paints fully dry , 👍👍

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому

      Now you tell us 🤣 haha. Wish we’d known at the time though, it was such a pain getting it off!! We thought it was cos we used cheap masking tape but that makes complete sense 👍

    Having had two motorhomes where we had put the bed down every night it became a real chore, our next van will have a fixed for sure.

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому

      That was one of our main concerns! We definitely didn’t want it to end up feeling like a chore. That’s great to hear from people with experience of it 👍

    Great video guys, you really knocked it out the park this time. The little doors look soo good and also the window frame and step. The bed we are choosing is two separate beds at the back as my husband is too tall to sleep across the width of the van. I put our Maxair Fan the other day and a Midi Heki Rooflight in today. Super happy, I am so excited. Take care and stay safe you two xxx

      Thank you 😊 That’s a new one on us, two beds, look forward to seeing your design! Sounds like you’ve been busy, the roof light and fan were one of the most satisfying bits of our build so that must feel great to have them in 😀 We’re excited for you 👍😊

    💕The corner of butcher block as you enter the van should be cut off or rounded💕Coz it’s painful when you hit your head/body on it💕Or even your eye💕

    Hi guys love your videos watched so many you've helped me loads! Quick one. Wood size for the bed frame what have you gone for? Did you self tap the one near the back doors to the back of the van? Have you also glued them? The planks that go side to side around the perimeter of the frame, how did you attach that to the outer? Did you kreg them?Cheers :) Sam.

    Are you still happy with the carpet on the step? Our concerns are it getting wet during the rainy seasons and getting dirty very quickly, requiring shampooing.

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 роки тому

      We’re still happy with it, yes. It’s definitely a bit dirty but it’s quite easy to brush off every couple of days. Not sure what we’d do without it really as we’d just be trailing the muck inside the van otherwise. We’ve not had any problems with it getting wet either. We cut a spare section that we carry in our garage so it it does get really dirty or tatty then we will replace it. But a year and a bit in and it’s not been replaced yet. We’d definitely recommend the coconut coir matting 👍👍

    I absolutely love your van conversions . Measurements on point❤️
    The look throw cabinet is Awersome she did such a great job.. You guys need to go into business..
    The little window .. Did it come w/ the van or did you guys install that as well?

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому

      Thank you very much 😊 We didn’t enjoy building it much so probably wouldn’t want to make a business out of it 😅
      We had the little window at the back right at the start, it’s one of only a couple of things we didn’t do ourselves 👍

    which (size) sprinter van is this? I was leaning toward convertible bed, but I think you guys have converted me to fixed lol

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому

      It’s a long wheel base. The bed thing is really a personal choice, we just knew we didn’t want to be taking it down and putting it up constantly 😅 Plus the storage space underneath is amazing!

  • @thebespokebird
    @thebespokebird 3 роки тому +1

    I'm just wondering how you're going to clean that little mat if it's glued on? (Or is it the base for a removable one?)

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  3 роки тому +1

      We vacuum and brush it off regularly and we kept the excess so we have plenty more for when it needs replacing 👍
