To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

Some tiny clarifications, when you take it off, it does go into a low power mode. It goes into further low power after 2 hours, and there is a way to do a wired connection. They sell an overpriced lightening to aux cable.
Is the further low power mode still activated if there’s no case? The case puts it into the further low power state right away too right?

I like your initial reactions and how you call things for what they are. A lot of people get stuck in the consumer mindset and the wow of a product. This tendency blinds you of the products faults. It’s always important to review tech for what it is and the bang for your buck.

On iOS in accessibility you can apply "headphone accomodations" which functionally are like a basic EQ. if you get an app that makes an audiogram in the healthkit system you can use that audiogram to correct the audio like a hearing aid, which is effectively seperate EQ for each ear, and you can also turn on transparency mode accomodations which gives you the ability to adjust the bass/trebel, balance, and volume of the passthrough audio if they're anything like airpods pro on iOS

There’s no usb audio apparently but you can get their 35 bux lightning to 3.5mm.
That is true and it solves some of the situations, but I think the issue with this is that it will still use the headphone’s dac and amp, do you can’t use your expensive and better quality ones.
I want to use mine with midi piano and need the low latency/cable connection. I don't mind the internal dac/amp as it's likely quite nice if it's Apple.

Still, you cannot "drive" them with an external dac/amp, which was his point (the cable does ADC and then the headphones work with their own dac/amp as usual, the only thing you bypass is the BT module, or the way you feed the digital signal)

@@sys-administrator you're so wrong... the entire point of wired is to directly connect the drivers to a high-powered DAC. Using lightning would go from analog, to digital and back to analog (all drivers are analog in the end) it's pointless if it's not a direct connection from. The DAC to the drivers.

Nice first impression vid. One thing, though: you kinda flipped that they don’t go into “low-power mode” automatically, and that you’d have to carry around the bra-purse, or wait two hours, to make it happen-but that’s not the case. Like AirPods Pro, they immediately go into low-power mode once you take them off. They go into “ultra-low power mode” after two hours (or with the magnets), which is a crazy-low energy consumption mode that’s for longer term storage, and requires a (very slightly) longer wake time. If you take them off your head and leave them all night on a table when you wake up they will have barely lost any power.
A video which is truly worth watching to the end - Thank you for that Linus.

I believe the claim was ‘best audio experience in their class’, but Linus doesn’t like to let a little thing like facts get in the way of a rant.
Compare them to other ANC headphones in roughly the same price range. Comparing them to open backed Grade or Sennheisers obviously is pointless, unless you would also ride the bus with that set up (and the external amps needed to drive them).
@@AaronAbernethy I mean to be fair, Apple did not define what /class/ it is. It is a very vague statement. Similar to the M1 chip, they said it is up to 2x faster with PC-mobile chips, but was easily beaten by an AMD Ryzen 5.

U can increase spund quality in menu for dosabilities. You can edit sound Cleaner or something like this but it works
There is a Headphone Jack to Lighting cable to allow you to hardwire them for $35.
Is it a different adapter than the normal Lightning to 3.5mm jack? Because those are 'only' like $8.

Employees tend to do better when their basic needs are met so working actually becomes an easier task. Linus does a pretty good job of having a line between relations and work. That is probably why he is so popular not only by fans and the community bur for coworkers alike.

just so people know you are able to connect the headphones with lighting to audio jack that Apple now sells so you can have a low latency listening experience for audio files. But keep in mind you will need an adapter or another special cord that goes lightning to full size audio jack to use with an amp. I dont think you will be able to properly utilize an amp tho. Maybe if an audio file or music engineer wants to test a song on a high-end consumer product this would be where to look but real time music production with low latency doesnt seem to be the headphones strong suit.
Can’t you use the lightning port for audio out?? Would mean it isn’t Bluetooth only as stater early in video
