my Sennheiser HD202 still works like a magic
Sony is all-around decent for whatever price range you are targeting too. They have basically everything on every price range.
if only they can fix their stupid naming scheme. Yes, I know it makes sense for their engineering team, but not everyone are science students.
@@fuisharu Damn that takes me back.
I had my HD202's for like 10 years.
I sat on them, I ran over the cable with my deskchair COUNTLESS times... and they just keep on trucking.
I still have them in a box somewhere.
Had to get new headphones though because the plastic railing was absolute garbage and on one side it wouldn't catch anymore.. like, AT ALL.
5:28 Savage - haven't actually looked at the Airpods Max since our review because "why would I?" Ikr most people just get XM4s or m50x or Bose ANCs.
I hear you but I like the Apple cans more. Pricey yes but they’re always on sale and the quick connect to my phone and Apple TV is worth it for me. I also think their sound is very balanced and was pleasantly surprised with how close they came to my hifiman in comparison.
@@mattschwartzstein3159 I can understand but, for me, the APMs clamp too hard on my jaw and end up hurting after a few minutes while my Sennheiser headphones feel much better and get comparable sound.
The APMs can be great if they don't put too much clamp pressure on your temples or jaw.
It's crazy how convincing these fakes have become.
Alot of stuff gets better. Just look at the Chinese "fake" Legos they quality these days is awesome especially for the price.

ngl if they put some effort into the driver/sensor tuning and made the housing aluminum instead of plastic, they could easily raise the price to $250 and have a significantly better and closer knock-off
I absolutely love these types of videos where Linus is given some sort of wonky or likely bad product and we just get to watch his blind reaction to all the weird or wonky stuff
As a sound technician, that eq was one of the more painful parts of the video
I am going to make a complaint, this made my 2W mono headphone sound poor! 😂
😂 😂 😂 I felt it too.
Why?
In fairness, the Apple version they were trying to replicate won't be the best sound quality, so the target wasn't great.
I'm not even a sound technician and that hurt to look at, I can only imagine how nasty that looked to you
"The mesh feels meshy" - Linus '21.
Better meshy than mushy or messy :D
Ken from Computer Clan actually covered about this product in detail actually but seeing Linus joining on the ride too is a great addition.
I like that LTT’s intro music never changes.
I mean they did change it once, but I hope they don't change it ever again
I’ve been here long enough to see it change at least 3 times
It did change several times as the channel grew (check out their videos from 7 and 4 years ago), but I like the current melody better than any of the earlier ones, and I'd be happy if they never changed it again.

Man I was so happy seeing “The Fearless Flyers” in one of their demo tracks
Do you know what app they are using for the eq by any chance?
"Gained access." It's likely the manufacturer that Apple hired to produce the official Pods.
I doubt that the original airpods manufacturer is making this knockoff, they probably just leaked/sold the schematics to someone else

Linus, do a video on Dbrand's Darkplates vs the regular PS5 plates in terms of thermals. They have a new design that should lower the temps.
He doesn’t have the equipment or know how to pull that off. A video from gamers nexus about it though would be interesting.

Doubtful they are still around, these companies get raided by police often. They are probably sitting in a jail cell somewhere, lol. None of their company sites are up anymore, good indication they got caught.
@@sqlevolicious Not necessarily. It's quite possible the people behind the company work from overseas in China or or whereever. However, it is fairly easy for Apple to take those websites down since the website is most likely registered in US/CAN. I guess the people behind ProMax just sell the same product under a different name.
6:10 Team should do more blind tests and troll the reviewers more. So much is biased if even the "correct box" in the hallway can make speakers sound better for the reviewers. Yeah, a little bribery goes a long way in the factories apple is contracting. While apple tries to safeguard everything, its not under their own roof and things get through all the time.
I mean all apple products are made in China
No pressure sensitivity.
I love how the verdict was "these are shit, but compared to the actual thing, I won't stop you from buying them." It says alot about Apple as a company
The question is - why do you care if something is overpriced?
@@retrocomputing because if you can buy something that's cheaper and sounds better you should. Im not saying buying the knockoffs are better, but what I am saying is Linus clearly said you can buy headphones sub $200 that sound better than a real pair of the AirPod Max. For that reason, I think you should care if things are overpriced. Because at that point you end up paying for a brand and NOT a product. Hence why Apple is a terrible company. It's a cult
@@kellenwalburn5238 can you show a 200 USD wireless headphones pair with NC, transparency mode and the same build quality? The build quality thing is something that many people enjoy. For headphones, I shop for lightweight over almost everything else. For comfort reasons. It's completely barmy to add weights. I understand it feels premium, but it also ruins a major selling point.
Lighter headphones don't stay in place as well. The weight of the cord slowly pulls it off your head.

When the Apple iPad was first released, I waited for a knock off version of it. After some shipping problems, I eventually got it and that's when I learned I should have gotten the real iPad. This fake iPad obviously ran Android OS on it, but the experience using it was bad. It was slow, had a plastic touchscreen which "bounced" when I typed on it, and the battery life sucked. I think it was the first electronic device I just threw away after a month of use (normally I either erase and reinstall the OS on a computer and give it to a family member or sell it).
Since then, I never bought a knock off electronic device - I stuck with the major brand names.
Yeah it's much better to buy from a cheap but major brand than a fake one
Honestly I feel this company could legitimately grow themselves if they made their own products, they have at least some potential
