I’m glad you’re calling companies out on excessive packaging. I think you’ve done it in previous videos and I’ve commented there too. It really frustrates me that we as the end users get penalised for the disposal of packaging when we have little control over its creation. More manufacturers should be held to account and reduce it at source.
But here it's just extra cardboard and half a gram of plastic baggies. That's nothing compared to the amount of plastics and other materials we use on a daily basis. Any yoghurt cup or salad wrapper uses more plastic. The biggest environmental impact I'd wager is the production of the electronics and the batteries. In a product that will be disposed of in 18 months because the batteries are dead.

@@CatatonicImperfect I know this is 11 months late but I feel you are missing the point. That extra cardboard and plastic baggies mean a lot more than what you make it sound. That extra cardboard could be shrunk by 3 times at least meaning every truckload or plane trip could fit 3x the amount in it taking less fuel to distribute. It would also mean 3x less on producing literal waste. The baggies as well scale to the thousands for something that doesn't serve a purpose. Ironically LV products, bags, wallets, etc have very little leather. The body of these products are made from canvas coated in PVC. So you’re spending $2k on canvas coated in plastic with a few pieces of leather stitched on.
Well that's what idiots get for just buying for a logo to look rich. I don't care scam every idiot who is stupid enough to fall for this. I certainly would. A fool and their money is easily parted.
Yep. If this was Hermès we were talking about, though… And *that’s* the reason why Apple partnered with those, and not with LV (that and also the fact that LVMH owns semi-premium watch brands which Apple is currently in the process of eviscerating, I guess).
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. While yes they do sell coated canvas items, they also use various other types of materials. They are also pretty explicit on their website when saying whether or not an item is coated or using genuine leather.

Fantastic review, and props to everyone involved. My wife inherited several new, real LV bags. She promptly sold them and used the money to pay off most of her debt - best use we will ever have for such things. I tend to spend the most money on things that will last decades, and provide a usability that never diminishes vs an item that is subject to society's perception and/or socially trendy standards.
Not to mention, a bag that is used often will deprecate in value quickly and eventually break apart. These LV bags are basically always kept in a wardrobe without ever seeing the light of the sun, except maybe for the occasional fancy occasion once every few years.
@Joshua Paul i love linus as much as the next guy but i feel that you're right. I haven't seen every single headphone review he ever did but the ones i watched definitely didn't involve Linus going on a plane trip where all you can do for a couple hours is stare at other passengers
To be fair to LV, apart from being one of the most efficient ways of converting money into looking like a worse human being, their handbags and stuff are usually made of really really high quality leather. not that that actually matters ofc, but at least you know that it's just overpriced, not actually bad.

To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

Always wondered why if a company has the money why not back it up with an amazing sound experience v.v it's already 1200 no one is gonna fret if you spend a couple extra hundred for actually good sound quality.
Because they will not sell that many. Making really good ones is not cheap, it would almost certainly lose them money. They are not a rich company because they spend much to earn little. Literally everything LV puts out is over 800% mark up from prediction costs. How anyone is actually tricked into buying this shit is laughable. I'm a FUCKING MORON and even my dumb ass had this scam figured out by age 12.
As a child, I always thought these designer brands were the pinnacle of consumerism You get the gear, keep it for life. After I bought my first watch, the truth hit me. They're selling $50 of watch for a thousand bucks. It still takes a $2 battery like my childhood Casio. All you pay for is bragging rights. Embarrassing.
I will defend LV for the thing they do well, their leather products. My wife has a bag from them she uses every day and it has held up for years. This, however, is just a re-brand of another companies product with some red paint and a massive markup and because of the nature of the product, it is only going to last a few years anyway like most pieces of technology.
The quality may be there on their leather products, but the quality isn't thousands of dollars better. At that point, you're paying for the brand. There are instances where paying a lot more for a little better quality makes sense (when that product is used to make you money and any downtime removes that ability, or in the case of something that will cause life or death)
There are a lot of brands out there that offer the same or even better quality than what lv is asking for. Lets be honest that women love lv because of the status symbol and not the durability. Same thing for me and my fathers rolex's, the branding makes the price higher even if they're not doing anything special with the watches movement or any other unique function but at least a Rolex is a solid investment that will last so many years unlike a leather bag.
@@dredgewalker My understanding is that LV bags hold their value pretty well. This pair of earbuds they have stamped their logo on though probably not.
@@ryant2568 LV bags only hold their value if they are well taken care of and even then they're not as easily liquifiable as a rolex. Also I would never invest in something made of a material that degrades in time. Some of my watches have leather straps that need replacing every one or two years depending on how much I use them. At least with a watch it's easy to replace the leather straps, a bag that deteriorates just becomes junk.
@@dredgewalker Personally I would not even call a Rolex an investment as it will also loose value over time even if that loss is slow. An investment is something that goes up in value over time like a property. You buy a Rolex for the exact reason you buy a LV bag at the end of the day whether you want to admit that to yourself or not.
They didn't design the earbuds themselves. They just painted their logo on it and called it a day without modifying its sound signature or drivers. It's legit $200 earbuds.
I have a feeling the reason why the eq is so scooped and boosted in the bass is because the demographic of people that will buy that mainly listen to trap rap.

Let me tell you about the average LV customer: I used to do tech support for an old retired couple with a basic pension. I'd come over to reset the router or change the TV's input from HDMI-1 to HDMI-2... you know, stuff like that. Usually for free, or they'd give me something by the end of the month when their pension came in. Even though they were poor themselves their son had a great job, several houses, a Ferrari and a trophy wife... let's call her Karen. For Karen's birthday she asked her mother-in-law for a $2400 LV bag. They flew all the way to florida for her birthday and gave her an envelope with $500 because that was all they had. Karen was FURIOUS. Never had she been so insulted in all her life. She started a huge fight in the middle of her party, then locked herself in her room crying for the rest of the day. She made her husband kick out his parents that were staying in the guest room to get a hotel room instead. And the next day he had to take her out shopping for the LV bag she wanted (and a few other things for the emotional distress) Oh, and she didn't give back the $500 either, obviously. True story, I swear! That's what people who buy LV bags are like. Or at least the one I know.
Reminds me of when I worked at Beverly Center in Beverly Hills as a parking supervisor. I would often see a beat-up car approaching the exit with a sad guy at the wheel and his soon to be ex-girlfriend with a brand new Louis Vuitton handbag in her lap.
There are definitely a number of wealthy people that don't have taste. But I will say that having insane wealth (we're talking when a million dollars is just a drop in the bucket for you), you'll tend to spend your money on the most ridiculous things just because you can. We always keep seeing these rich people buying the stupidest or weirdest stuff but really they're doing it to be different and standout to gain that sweet attention they oh so crave and would perish and die if they didn't receive it, and also because it's an exclusive item. A good example like the LV earbuds in this video. They're an exlusive item that only a certain number of people can get. The more rare it is, the more it costs, the more it'll gain the attention of rich people.
You don't buy Louis Vuitton for quality but for exclusiveness. $1200 from Louis Vuitton which includes audio means a cheap product with mediocre electronics. No audio company is going to work with them to give away their best audio and Louis Vuitton doesn't have any credibility in audio. So they must have worked with another company but got mediocre crap they made to look exclusive for rich people who only care about the brand.
I’ve had the MD MW07 Plus for about two years and have loved them. I wear them almost every day for at least 4-5 hours and the battery is still lasting about 7 hours. They aren’t as good as the airpod pros, but the battery life and UI make up for its lower quality ANC and sound quality.
I have the mass drop go version which I beat on during work and they are great sound, durability and battery wise. Only thing I dislike about them, which I'm not sure it if it also applies to the plus is that if I only want to listen to music with one ear, it has to be the right earbud. Would definitely recommend them
@@mooshroom199 That's not an issue with the production release, which I had. I regrettably upgraded to the new MW08s and they are actually a step down in both fit and audio quality. @@seanf4776 I disagree about the battery life on the MW07s. I've had two of them, and the Blue Steel version ended up with a lot of battery degredation and last only about 1.5 hrs on a full charge. I switched to a paird of MW07 Go and MW08 Go's and they definitely are much better. I would say the former does everything for battery life, and durability.
Great video. Kudos to you Linus with sustainable packaging and all. One huge box and plastic packaging just because of consumerism is gross. The whole brand one-upmanship, status thing (in general, not the video) is so cringe and unnecessary.
9:41 Well Louis Vuitton don't want to associate their brand with $250 headphones. Also LG and Meridian are a collaboration so there's no price competition. Plus let's be honest - Louis Vuitton Horizon owners couldn't care less who Master & Dynamic are. Many designer brands now have a line of electronics. I guess it's not surprising with smart wearables and fashion merging together. Even AirPods are a fashion statement, so it makes sense for the designer brands to catch on to that.
"you can only justify their cost based on how they make you feel" You aren't wrong, but this reads much more positively than the motivations that probably caused the purchase would imply, because odds are you're buying this to maintain a wasteful luxury image (or facade), that while impressive to other similar idiots, really doesn't look good to everyone else. Along with that, the wastefulness of spending this much money on earbuds is an "emperors new clothes" level of foolish, and an insult to everything involved with its creation. My point is, if I was a cow and my skin was used to make the leather in that disposable case, I would be a sad farm animal ghost. And that's not ok.

I’m glad you’re calling companies out on excessive packaging. I think you’ve done it in previous videos and I’ve commented there too. It really frustrates me that we as the end users get penalised for the disposal of packaging when we have little control over its creation. More manufacturers should be held to account and reduce it at source.
Rather the opposite. I would much rather get a charger in my box than have the company virtue-signal about their ecofriendliness.
@@bbking006 the charger not being included is just the companies being scummy not environment conscious. Glad countries like Brazil are calling them out
@@CatatonicImperfect I know this is 11 months late but I feel you are missing the point. Now I am not saying pushing all this wireless stuff on people isn't going to do good on the environment, they just serve a purpose unlike all the wasted space and cotton and plastic bags.

Why would they spend extra money on resources when idiots all over the globe will buy them even if they're made from extremely cheap materials.
On buds more money does not necessarily better sound make. There are always weight, size, and battery life tradeoffs
Because they will not sell that many. Making really good ones is not cheap, it would almost certainly lose them money. They are not a rich company because they spend much to earn little. The reason why Apple or Samsung make better Earphones is because they sell the quantities to justify high development costs.
Yeah, why not start with the most important stuff like audio quality, background noise cancelling quality... usability, you know, like... quality quality, and THEN add leather cable tie and wealthy people bits and bobs?

Please make rich Linus a constant thing in your channels. That was freaking funny.
LTT videos are starting to become legit major TV channel quality. I hope this channel lives on for at least as long as I am alive and then some.
They took more time making the case feel nice than the headset being actually good
because as he demonstrated, they didn't make the earplugs, they just slapped their logo on it
They didn't design the earbuds themselves. They just painted their logo on it and called it a day without modifying its sound signature or drivers. It's legit $200 earbuds.
Willing to bet $80 Raycons sound better.
@@krozareq soundcore Ankers sound better
Best played with fashion show music.
The way they absolutely SCOOP the mids reminds me of the Raycons.
By chance, do you watch dankpods?
@@Goorue Of course, he saved me from buying a pair.
I need dankpods reviewing this
I have a feeling the reason why the eq is so scooped and boosted in the bass is because the demographic of people that will buy that mainly listen to trap rap.
I was going to argue then remembered Logan Paul and his fans
You'd probably be correct. I understand that it's likely the market they'd be catering to the most with this product but as both a trap fan and a sound engineering I can't help but feel embarrassed by that V curve lol
What they should have included in that huge box, considering how expensive it is... is 1000 dollars in cash.
The life advice at the end was much appreciated. This is the kind of info this world needs to hear.
I'm a fucking moron and even I knew this shit since I was 10
@@conkerlive101 Good for you. I've met a ton of people who aren't that fortunate. There is a whole generation of people who's parents didn't teach them the value of a dollar much less give them any useful knowledge in life.
You're experience is not the same as others. You assume that common sense is actually still common.
Who hurt you, and why are you so angry?
there there
@@cppctek There's some things in life you shouldn't need a parent to have to teach you. Not getting ripped off is one of them.
I hit the Like button as soon as Linus called out their packaging practices. That's good journalism there!
Intro is spicy 🔥, you can tell this is going to be good
I just have to say that I love your segues to your sponsors, I usually just skip past sponsor content but yours I actually watch because of that.
I really hope LV sees this. But I have a feeling that they, and their customers, are so far removed from reality that they won't care one bit. Then again, they might be pissed. Which response do you think I'm hoping for? 😂
They probably don't care. Their customers are mindless sheep that pay for anything Louis Vuitton branded.
They don’t care
Yep. I'm sure it's a mixture of mindless sheep and/or not caring because it's a status symbol for those in the thin crust of shit on "top" of society. 😒
@@jacobperez8921 Just like iSheep.
The real fashion statement in this LV video is at 4:35, with the wonderful Northernlion hoodie in full display.
i want an episode of the two Linuses fighting for 12 minutes.
The people who buy things like this, have absolutely no idea of what quality actually is.
Just sheep spending 500 extra just for a logo.
They usually also have so much money they don't know what stupid thing to do with that money next...
@@conkerlive101 no, that's Apple customer, but at least Apple has quality. but this one? this is worse.
Battery life is godly on MW07s, and the snig fit (you have to rotate them in not push them in) is great, I used them a lot while trail running
@@seanf4776 they sure do stay in great, only time one has fallen out was after I got clocked in the head by a container door. Also never had em die on me, even when I worked 10 hour shifts I stuck em in the case for 20 mins during lunch and made it all the way home with music
@@seanf4776 I disagree about the battery life on the MW07s. I've had two of them, and the Blue Steel version ended up with a lot of battery degredation and last only about 1.5 hrs on a full charge. My second pair is fine, but I don't like how the case continuously charges and loses large over time, and this was true for both pairs.
I switched to a paird of MW07 Go and MW08 Go's and they definitely are much better. I would say the former does everything for battery life, and durability.
While the in ears aren't that great, their over and on ear headphones are phenomenal
yea that's what linus talked about starting from about 9:00 so he knows
yes. Like he said in the video. Maybe watch before you correct them?
That casetify sponsor hit me like a train, to be fair tho they didn’t really have any controversies at that point so no blame
yeah, funny how it turned out
Great video.
Plus let's be honest -
Louis Vuitton Horizon owners couldn't care less who Master & Dynamic are.
Many designer brands now have a line of electronics. I guess it's not surprising with smart wearables and fashion merging together. Even AirPods are a fashion statement, so it makes sense for the designer brands to catch on to that.
That casetify ad aged well
"you can only justify their cost based on how they make you feel"
You aren't wrong, but this reads much more positively than the motivations that probably caused the purchase would imply, because odds are you're buying this to maintain a wasteful luxury image (or facade), that while impressive to other similar idiots, really doesn't look good to everyone else. Along with that, the wastefulness of spending this much money on earbuds is an "emperors new clothes" level of foolish, and an insult to everything involved with its creation.
My point is, if I was a cow and my skin was used to make the leather in that disposable case, I would be a sad farm animal ghost. And that's not ok.
welp... this sponsorship aged like milk
It gets even sadder when you consider the fact that these get thrashed by $20 wired earbuds. The KZ ZSNs.

0:41 Rich Diva Linus passed the YASSFICATION VIBE!!!💅
That Louis Vuitton box is part of the experience. There's no doubt that the average buyer of this thing would keep the box.
As for the price, the difference in pricing is actually due to the brand of course!
I never understood the whole "luxury brand" branding deals that tech companies do as there is such a thing as luxury electronics brands(that they often times already own). A rich guy would feel just as much of a "flexing on poor people" appeal with a bang and olufsen as he would something with Louis Vuitton branding
I stealth flex with affordable but expensive Planar headphones and quality boots whose brands no normal person outside of enthusiasts of those niche interests has heard of.
And yet 11900k sold many units despite being a 11700k
I must say... your sponsors are GREAT. Only sponsors that I actually watch cus they're very funny.
