I have a legit question too. Why do her daughters have to prove to her that they were molested by her sleazy father instead of the father having to prove he didn't? Your priority should be your daughters not your husband.

If you watch the one before this the mother spends from the time she came forward at ten years old until the first appearance in this show manipulating her daughters And telling them she didn’t believe them. From the time they were children!! Yet, people sit here wondering why they are so messed up and why they just wished he actually was a better person. Plus you hear from childhood that oh you are mistaken, no you are just a pathological liar or you imagined it and this is exactly what you get!

I think a common thing that is misunderstood about sexual abuse is the trauma bond created between the abuser and the victim. It creates an intense fear of abandonment and severe attachment. You start to think it’s your job to protect everyone. You feel alone and try not to tell anyone, but it just keeps coming up until you heal.

Here's the thing: Janice Dickinson is what one would call not a good witness. Her credibility is not great. But, just bc someone doesn't have great credibility (die to drugs, mental disorders, trauma), doesn't mean they can't be raped.
I believe it was her who was also molested by bill Cosby and when she spoke out about it years back, nobody believed her. Yet, here we are. This happened many many years ago.
There is so much trauma and confusion and psychological torment wrapped up in familial abuse. Hard for laymen to understand. They think they know.

When children are abused they are forced to create a second self to deal with it. The reason I spoke highly of my parents while I was a kid and teen is because how could I do any different? I couldnt act out or contradict them out of fear, and I desperately tried to justify their words and actions because I didnt want to believe they were hurting me. No child wants to think ill of their parents, and we never stop loving them no matter how bad things are. We only stop loving ourselves.

Her mother and siblings should be ashamed of themselves for turning their backs on a VICTIM like this. SHE didn't take your husband and father away from you, she didn't destroy your family. That 'man' that you're so desperately defending did. The moment he started abusing that poor girl, HE messed his whole family up. For his own selfish needs no less. Put the blame where it should be instead of putting it on an INNOCENT VICTIM who did nothing wrong and certaintly didn't deserve to be hurt and traumatized. Her mom should've protected her from that monster, like a parent is supposed to do. You ALWAYS believe a victim until you have PROOF that they're lying. Especially if that victim is a CHILD.
This isn't denial on the mom's part. If she really believes her husband is completely innocentand shouldn't be in prison, she's DELUSIONAL and SELFISH and doesn't deserve to be a mother.

    1. The mother knew about the abuse before the rest of the family and did nothing about it

This was infuriating! The brother actually became more hostile towards the sister AFTER she passed the polygraph. He started with being willing to forgive HER and ended with washing his hands of her, but wanting to be around her daughter. I wouldn't let him within a country mile of my daughter, if I was her. His moral compass is beyond busted. The only one who showed any sign of hope was the younger sister. Thank God Amanda found a husband who supports and loves her. She deserves it.

  • @fluffyelf2
    @fluffyelf2 3 роки тому +10

I get it, I really understand her (the daughter) i understand why she let her daughter be around him. Things like this do a number on your head and you really want things to be different to reality so when she said she wasn’t ready she was still in denial mode. I believe her when she said she was desperate for normalcy. It’s very naive to believe that a daughter who was abused by her father cuts all ties the fist chance she gets. There’s a lot to it, other people involved. I don’t think some people understand the gravity of damage that is done to the abused. Yes you would think her instinct to protect her child would have kicked in but it’s just not like that. Women stay with abusive husbands for years and years, they put on a happy front to the outside world, make excuses for him and most people understand this. Why on earth would the situation be any different for a person being sexually abused by their father. The family tie is still there. You would presume that she must hate her father after all he has done and maybe if he was some stranger or family friend she would but like she said she still loved him at that point and wanted things so desperately to be normal. I really don’t think people understand the gravity or enormous courage you have to have to face what happened to you. What she did isn’t uncommon at all.

  • @LuxMeow

I believe her because it happened or started so young it became normalized in a way and she learned how to cope in secrecy to avoid more shame and guilt. Until it became too much and she finally needed it to come out. So it makes sense, it's sad that the mother has such a struggle believing her daughter.

the amount of evidence required to successfully prosecute a child molester is astronomical. and what they force a survivor to go through during that trial is horrendous. it's like being r%ped 2nd time, but with an audience. The mother is deluding herself purposefully. she is proper sick.

  • @dlldll9754

I believe he molested her. But she left her own daughter there because she thought her mom was there? Your mom doesn't protect children from this man. You don't need to give a child a reason, you say no, that's that. This is why these things are cyclical.

There has been a facade to uphold in my situation as well although the whole family knows what he did.

If you know there is a rapist and peadophile in the house, how come you leave your innocent child with him. Doesn’t matter if the mother would be there as she is an accomplice. They would never stay alone with my child even for a second.

I know most of us seek to create " normal " families in order to make up for what we went through....I hope she has that...whatever it was in her head when she imagined it . Peace of mind is too much to ask , but I think a happy family is within reason , considering what was taken .
