Honestly that Satin Purple Atmosphere Fade looks so good and is probably my favorite finish I've seen on a new release in a long time. The fact that people in the comments are getting mad about the color just blows my mind.

James Everitts That would be a 5 piece. The snare is sold separately and it’s $450 which is too much considering the Cedar outerply Walnut /Birch snare sells for $300. So we have to pay $150 more for the paint job and the BN hardware. No Linear Strainer either which is a letdown.
But the 5 kit is 200.00 more just for the color it's no big deal to me I just tried to order it its will be a month or two yet befor it's in there shop
i love tama drums they are built well and thought out for drummers ease of use.that one kit looks just like woodland camoflauge or forest inspired finish, so, how about a RAMBO themed 30 year anniversary kit with a survival knife with built in drumkey and a hidden compartment for earplugs or contraband? the logo could be an army stencil letters with armored 3.5mm plating and bullet shell shaped lugs and a mil-spec snare throw-off? barbed wire snare wires and kevlar rifle caliber rated bullet resistant tactical drumheads?

To the folks that can't stomach the gender neutral stuff, grow up. It is reality, and you sound like the snowflakes you probably despise complaining about it. FWIW, I think the kit is ugly. I actually think a lot of the Tama stuff is kind of ugly, but they make some great drums.

What happened to the starclassic bubingas?
Tyler Potts they discontinued them because Bubinga Trees are on the endangered list. This happened last year. That’s why we now have Walnut/Birch instead of B/B’s. The only drums they’ll make in Bubinga now are the Star drums and the Starphonic Bubinga.
Not fully discontinued. They just cant sell them across domestic borders. You can get them in Japan, EU, or the US, but have to be made and sold there, not across borders. Thanks to China and their mass consumption of Rose Woods they were added to a tier 2 level of protection. Endorsed artists can get anything, because whose to say you didnt tour with a bubinga kit across numerous borders? lol
Kudos to Tama for announcing their new offerings at the beginning of the month! It would be nice if more companies followed suit with this because it only generates buzz for the new product, rather than "what's new for this year, find out (maybe) on NAMM Day 1" type thing.

Not really, just people with actual logic in reality. Every finish and drumkit ever has been “gender neutral”. If you reinforce the problem by color identifying with your labels, you are the problem, not the “righties”.
The righties are girls too. I've seen dudes playing hot pink kits. There's no such thing as a gender specific colour for drums. Virtue signalling lefties don't get it.

Just bought a starclassic snare the day before I saw this. If I’d have known, would have bought another Ludwig.
I was hoping for a new Starclassic line. So basically we get a few new paint jobs and 2 SLP snares. Meh.
Joe Rico there’s actually a lot more if you go to the website and check out new for 2020. Not to mention they usually come out with more stuff during the year that they didn’t have ready for NAMM.
What do you mean by "new" Starclassic line? Most of these companies do what they know will make them some money, so a few new paint jobs and SLP snares are where it's at.
@@drumfanatik316 I was on the website on 12\31. Not much really. I just got a 5 piece Bubinga Elite Kit so I'm good for a while. Last year the Starphonic Copper was a nice surprise.
@@drummaman1 I was hearing there would possibly be a Starclassic Walnut. I believe if they sold @ even $3000 for a 5 piece kit they would move more units compared to Star Walnut @ $4800 for a 5 piece.

Instead of worrying about the kit's color, drummers should worry about its sound and their own skill set.

I beat the shit outta my gen.new. Tamas. They are super resilient. Oh, they sound better than the others too. Yeah!
I will never spend THOUSANDS of $ on drums (excluding cymbals) again - ever. What a freakin’ waste of hard earned dough. Had to sell my kit (GMS) around ‘13 after the great recession. But, I kept my Lang Gladstone $1,500 custom snare with my name on it. I will now get a $699 beautiful Gretsch Catalina kit (4-piece w/18” kick, Mahogany) with Kickports and S-Hoops that I’ll install myself. The drums sound great right out of the box without customization. But, I won’t get cheap cymbals - probably the ones that’ll give me the best value/sound among the top products. Screw spending 2 to 7 grand just on drums and ditch products that’s got someone else’s NAME on it - all it does is jack-up your price. Totally not worth it.
And once again, not a word about Slingerland, Not even a question, Really?
I'm a bit miffed at what they define as a beautiful drum kit. The finishes look like a kid finger painted them! Their blue fade, grain shown shells, are what I want! Not a freaking clown kit! Gender neutral? For drums? Now I've heard it all. The Starclassic when they first came out were stunning! Now, I find it hard pressed to consider a Tama kit over a like kit from another manufacture with a wood grain finish.
I'll take a gay starclassic TAMA drum kit ...

@@FanaticDrummer there's no doubt about the quality and I understand the logic. What I said was just about the 'aesthetics' of the instrument. The way Tama has managed this paint and finish is astounding. I've seen one very recently (looked like melted red candy). It's more astounding up-close. But, unfortunately, the end result needs a disclaimer every other minute that it's, in fact, not a wrap! Let me tell you I would never pay for a painted car that looks wrapped. Cheers!
Mahbubur Rahman I just think they picked a rep who feels rather new, and “job hungry”. Meaning hes only there by proxy of means to a job. But he doesnt speak like, or speak to drummers. Im fully invested in Tama, but after seeing this, as a corporation, i’d have way more oversight on the people speaking on behalf of the company and their products. Even I could have done better, and kept the descriptions more unique to each set without sounding so generic. Hes just a cheap salesman, not a drummer.
The Club Jam Flyer kit is a bad joke. Seriously! It sounds like crap and it's too expensive for what you don't get.
Yes got my first Tama in 80th a Imperial Star,🌟, and later Super Star 🌟 in 1984. It have 4 concert Tom's which sound amazing, cuz they got no resonance head and mounted separate, not @ bass drum. From this method benefit the bass drum sound too, to me it's feels more open @20". Woodsnare 6,5 x 14" also have warm and volume sound.
Later I realized Phil Collins played a similar kit, also a left handed player, like me.. 🤣
