  • When playing double bass, the hi-hat cymbals can be closed by hitting the lever on the drop clutch.
While in the dropped position, TAMA's Sizzle Touch Drop Clutch allows you to adjust the gap between the top and bottom cymbals, allowing for fine adjustments to achieve the desired open sound. To resume normal hi-hat function, push down on the footboard of the hi-hat stand to secure the clutch back into place as a standard clutch.

BBEDrummerAK yes! It’s replacing their Cobra Clutch. So instead of a big clunky pedal that no one wants to haul around to a gig, they came up with this at a third of the cost! I saw this video and immediately sold my Cobra Clutch, only to find out this want be available until June!!! WTH???

I will be purchasing one, maybe two as soon as they become available!!! This looks like it solves the issue we’ve always had with drop clutches in the past. One, can’t adjust the sizzle, two, the hats were always too open when in the engaged position!!! This takes care of both!!! Simply genius Tama!!! Just when I think, what could they possibly do to make any new products??? Then last year comes the direct drive pedal we’ve all been waiting for, this year the matching hi-hat stand, and so many other goodies I can’t wait to get my grubby little hands on!!!

@@vaughnmiller4371 IDK about greedy, this is a specialty item. Most people don't use something like this, so they have low volume, so they are expensive. Then the price keeps most people from picking it up so it stays expensive. This is the catch 22 with percussion hardware manufacturers. Everyone needs cymbal stands, so they can be relatively fair priced, but not all the cool shit we want on our kits.
