I am a guitarist, and I can still appreciate how much time and effort went into learning these drum parts. I also appreciate the editing, it is really well done and must have taken a lot of time too. You are amazing man!
Hey I hope I got the guitar chords right haha, it was all by ear and I wasn't 100% sure of the second and third chord. Thanks for your encouragements anyway :)
It sounds perfectly ok to me!
holy cow, just saw your videos, you're an awesome guitarist
Wei Lung Wong Thank you so much man! That's a big compliment coming from such an awesome drummer :D

Another excellent video. That breakdown helps so much. I feel like it’s possible for me to play at least 1 bar now from an AAL song lol
That's great to hear. I remember the days when I managed to play even just 1 bar of my favourite songs I was overjoyed :) All the best!
cool video idea thanks for your good work its appreciated

great work!!! I try to download the transcription but exist a host error. If you can give a solution i¨ll appreciete it.
This song is more complicated that I thought, and this was just the intro. Keep going dude, amazing work. Do you have fanpage on facebook? I don't found you there
I believe you can do it no matter how complicated, all it takes is time and by the way this video was inspired by your comment on my Kascade video. I don't have a facebook page yet but I might set up one and announce it in my future videos. Thank you Kronosz
What is the meaning of those curved lines between notes, where you seem to skip that note?
Those are "ties" and they're used to combine two notes into one longer note, or in drums you simply play the first one, and skip all the other note(s) it is tied to. Hope that helps
Makes sense. Thanks
Sure You're welcome
The more i watch your videos the more i think you are a genius! Seriously did you study drums at some point or learned this all by yourself?
Greetings from germany
Hi Dustin! I did study drums at some point and did two semesters at Berklee College of Music, however I had to stop because of finances. Greetings from Singapore!
Sorry to hear mate... nevermind you are an awesome drummer nonetheless! Excited for new videos^^
exercise 2 and 3 remind me of opeth so much.
slowed down*
Cool, I've been listening to them since their Heritage album.
Wei Lung Wong
Oh you responded.
Didn't expect that. Amazing demonstrations man.
Showed them to my brother as well, I play guitar more often, but your videos have helped me with drums as well.
I love paradiddles/polyrhythms
Can you teach us swarm by meshugah
I have many requests to answer, so I would more likely do it if you are a subscriber, you've written positive comments, you've bought something from my webstore, donated on my Ko-Fi, or all of the above. If not, I might not get to your request, no guarantees.
Just perfect. Wei What program do you use to write down the sheets?.
i believe it's Musescore. Looks like it, anyways. it's a very good software!
Oh I use Finale Songwriter. Although Musescore is a good option too and it's free unlike Finale
OMG I
Which program do you use to make the drum sheet?
Finale!
What program do you use ???
for the video?
+Wei Lung Wong to write sheets
OHhh, I use Finale Songwriter
Incredible video. I've been simply enthralled with Matt's drumming since I've started listening to AAL. Always wanted to know how to approach playing this and the video has been immensely informative. Thanks a ton!
+JevousGaming Me too! He's the biggest influence on my drumming this past year, happy drumming and gaming!
