    Even as someone who isn't a drummer, these lessons fascinate me. It does make me want to pick up drums along with my guitar.

      Logan Barclay I was like you. I've played guitar for 9 years and have always wanted to play drums. Finally saved up for a kit and I've been giving it my all. I've made a lot of progress for the few months I've been playing. I'd suggest just doing your homework before you buy one. Not just about what kit you should buy, but watch beginner drumming tutorials. I started out watching stick techniques. You could buy a practice pad and pair of sticks while your save up for a kit. You already play guitar so you know the dedication it takes to learn a instrument. Practice takes practice, and I bet you've already had experience practicing. I honestly think that will give you a leg up as opposed to someone who has never played an instrument before.

    Outstanding and detailed as always, I've always been more of a visual learner whether it's watching drum covers or reading tab, I've found that for me personally when I try to listen to technical music such as progressive metal or jazz in order to learn drum parts, I'm always contradicting myself as to whether or not I'm hearing everything or if I'm missing some parts, but your detailed transcriptions are a live saver and make it possible for me to learn this type of music, I've been hooked on your periphery strange things breakdown and I'm really invested in learning the whole song now, thanks again! You are an amazing teacher and drummer!

      THat's great! Me too sometimes, there's just too much stuff happening in these prog tunes that I'm even sure that I'm not catching 100% of everything in all my videos. I'm sure I make mistakes like everyone else but I hope it's good enough though haha.
      And I've put off the last part of my stranger things video for too long, I'll get right on it to help you and some others!

      Wei Lung Wong Great to hear back from you! It's interesting to hear you say that because to me it seems as if you've been playing and transcribing Prog music for about as long as the genre has been around, I haven't noticed any mistakes or heard anything out of place!
      That would be fantastic if you could transcribe more from that song, myself and many others appreciate all the hard work you've put into these videos! Thanks again!

      Right now I practice 30mins to3 hours in a session, about 4 times a week. Because it really depends on my free time outside of teaching and doing UA-cam videos. I used to practice 6hours a day 5 years ago though.
      In my opinion both quantity and quality are necessary. You won't improve well with just one side of the coin so try to strike a balance for yourself!

    Very good and clear as always it looks like it comes from a pro Lesson or something ^^ I've a little question : i now live in an apartment and i can't bring my acoustic drumset in it (too loud) so i want to buy an electronic one that makes as little noise as possible. So is the Roland TD-30K a good purchase for this objective or do you know any drumset that doesn't make to much noise ? :) (with mmh .. "mesh" skins ? i don't know the english word but it's a specific type of skin for eletronic drums ^^)

      I too live in an apartment so I totally understand your situation. I really love my TD-30K, however you need to prevent the vibrations and stomping from your foot pedals from going down to the neighbour below you and for that you'll need a vibration absorbent platform. Try googling "tennis ball riser" I built one for my e-kit and laid a mat on top of it. Zero complaints. If you need any more help let me know Edrenn!

      Let me know how it goes! Oh the TD30K is quite expensive and since you just started working, maybe you can look at the lower end models, I think Roland just released a new mid range TD-17 with all mesh heads. I'm so happy to still see you around :)

      Thanks for the advice ! You're right the TD30K is too expensive for me but the TD-17 is looks like a good one ! Does the bass drum pad have a mesh skin too ?

      Ahh I play a bit of guitar but nothing of this level though. I just step record the guitars and edit everything together. I used to have someone else do it for me in my other videos too but not for this video. Thanks for asking and watching!

      Wei Lung Wong your welcome ;) actually no, the difference between a polymeter and a polyrhythm, is that in a polymeter, the space between each quarter note is the same, and the 1st beat of each rhythm only match with each other after many measures, depending on the beats, and in polyrhythms, both beats last the same amount of time, but as the quantity of guarter notes is different, the larger beat is “squeezed”, to fit in the measure of the shorter beat.
      For example:
      4:3 polymeter:
      1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4...
      1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2...
      4:3 polyrhythm:
      1 2 3 4...
      1 2 3..
