I really "hate" that predator logo... I can't stand it at all. The old ACER logo was quite nice and mature. All manufacturers should think about those transformers look-a-like "gaming" monitor designs. They are simply UGLY and we are not 12 yrs old any more :( and those weird, useless stand designs... unbelievable. Designers need go back to the studio and begin working on minimalism immediately !

hi, i recently bought the acer predator z35 and sent it back as the ghosting was horrendous so i bought the acer predator x34p and it is an amazing monitor and has 0 ghosting or almost perfect 0 ghosting is this monitor the same would you say in terms of the ghosting as this monitor has just been offered to me for £200 less than what ive just paid for the x34p
i have watched your review but wanted to ask you if you have actually noticed any ghosting at all while playing games ie is it really noticeable on normal OD mode im using a x34p and i can barely see any ghosting at all

That monitor was supposed to be released in Q4/2017, and then delayed to Q1/2018. Last time I read, it was postponed again to Q3/2018. I was really hoping to buy it, but I got tired of waiting, so I ended up buying this Z35P.
Oh i see. Because i saw a good deal in ebay. He said that he returned the old one and the replacement still has the same greenish look at startup. I wonder if it is true
If I find this or the ASUS one on sale for a grand or less I'll definitely go for it. If that doesn't happen in time I think I'll still be happy with the Samsung ultrawide. I will be missing out on an extra 20hz though. :p
Bleh where are the Quantum Dots? Also that response time and panel type was a terrible choice... In the future for widescreen reviews there are wallpapers search for 21:9 to find them
I have tried two of these and both have terrible sound quality and volume when you plug your speakers and headphones into it. Also, playing games is impossible because the entire screen flashes black constantly. The 2nd one flashes once or twice every second, literally. I might return both to Amazon and cancel my service ticket and go with another brand. Pretty sure I won't ever buy Acer again. I had an old Acer monitor way back and it died right after the warranty expired. My old Samsung works great 8+ years later, and the Samsung I bought a year and a half ago has no issues either.
Yeah both of the problems are insanely bad and on both units. I can't believe Acer is manufacturing such garbage. The tech support person kept referring to the monitor as a computer, despite having the item number and name and confirming it with me. I have to pay for the shipping too, and I'm not supposed to send it with any cables or the original box, but the monitor is so huge, I'm not even sure what box it would fit in. I'm afraid I'm going to spend $20-$40 to ship it and they are going to tell me nothing is wrong with it and send it back after a month, when I can't return it to Amazon. I did a lot of things to make sure it's not a problem on my end. Swapped cables that I know are good, switched back to my old monitor, tried different games, PC and PS3, restarted both multiple times.. One thing that intrigues me is in Titanfall 2 it defaults to triple buffering v-sync or something along those lines. I don't get flashes at all or maybe I did once or twice. As soon as I switch it to a different sync setting, the flashes start like crazy. I switch it back to triple and it stops. I wish I knew what version of directx or sync that all games use. Some have tons of video settings and others very few, and are much more vague. I've read people say these and other monitors have G Sync screen flash issues, so I'm not sure if it's that or if I'm on to something with the different V-Sync settings or maybe it depends on DirectX versions..
I have the same desk as this I mentioned on reddit that my desk couldn't fit this monitor, I was called a scrub for having such a small desk... lol Such a stupidly large stand on this (and other acer monitors)
I have seen the LG 34UC89G in action. OC'ed on 165HZ. Very solid colours but I have just ordered the Z35P myself today. I was doubting between 3 and LG's 34UC89G was one of those 3. The 4K resolution was the dealbreaker to me and personally for me the difference between 120HZ vs 165HZ is extremely small nearly unnoticable. The Acer Z35P seems more 'futureproof' to me since 4K gaming standards are not that far away anymore and I am not spending 900+ Euro's on a screen with the mindset of switching over within the upcoming years. So if you have the money imo go for a 4K resolution screen. Keep in mind though i am no expert. Its just my personal opinion.
Only the first 2 things you mentioned are valid, FreeSync on a Gsync monitor? Really? And HDMI won't support such a resolution/refresh rate. Get a new hobby bro.
dp 1.2 does everything it needs to do for 3440x1440 @ 120Hz, freesync is garbage with pathetic frame range, it just needs gsync and dp support, scrub comment, gg.
