    Hi, thanks for the review as there aren’t many out there.
    I bought two of these monitors a few weeks ago and both had pretty bad backlight bleed in the corners as well as several green stuck pixels.
    I really like this monitor and the fact that the USB-C cable can be used to plug and charge a laptop (both display and power). The alien like Crosshair option is also pretty cool compared to simple crosses seen on other monitors.

      Hi! Thanks for sharing you're experience with this monitor! Sad to hear about the back light bleed and dead pixels! Did you manage to get replacements? I love the USB-C charging too! It extremely convenient 😁I'm glad you still enjoyed this monitor even with the faults! Thanks for watching 👍

      Hi how it all ended for u with this screen blooming. i have also lots of blooming corners and its to much vs old x34 2015 i have here is better. the panel type and anti/glare is also lots worse , sorry to say that include every new Ips > they all use the same antireflection coat and panels matter too/ i guess blame Lg or Samsung for that. they produce the panels, one of them at least.

    This monitor looks absolutely amazing! I do wonder if it supports automatic input switching for peripherals connected through the monitor's USB ports for setups with a laptop connected through USB-C and a desktop through DisplayPort/HDMI + USB-B uplink? The idea of still needing a stand alone KVM switch in 2022 is really bugging me

Can you confirm if it is capable of input switching so I can have peripherals (e.g. logitech mouse/keyboard dongles, webcam, mic) connected through the monitor and have them automatically switch between two connected computers using the USB-C and DP+USB-B respectively?

    Got an X34P which I’ve had for a few years - also epic monitor and wouldn’t change from ultra wide. Wouldn’t mind ‘upgrading’ to the new X34, just not sure the minor improvements over the X34P justify spending that sort of money again. . .

    • @colewelden
      @colewelden 2 роки тому +1

      @@Tragic_778 I got one. Mine is good but I do worry about that. The market has been flooded with Acer refurbs for a few months. It almost feels like a ton of them failed after about a year and were sent back to be fixed. They come in batches of a dozen or so on eBay and Amazon. As soon as they are "Out of Stock" more appear a day or so later. Not sure what's up with that, but so far I am happy with mine. Probably not worth the upgrade tho for you IMO. It is better, but not ENOUGH better to justify and upgrade. I doubt the difference would be very noticeable. If you do upgrade I would recommend something like the Alienware OLED uktrawide. For a couple hundred more NEW, it has the same features on an OLED panel. That would make for a much more dramatic upgrade. Otherwise stick out a couple more years. That's still a killer panel.

      Yeah I received my refurbished unit. This is the second of this monitor I’ve had. Sold it earlier this year and bought a the refurbished one last week. Only thing wrong with it is one stuck green pixel that’s on the far left side, but only shows up when the screen is completely black. So that sucks but it does not bother me sides it’s like 1 1/2 inches from the left so no big deal. Missed having an ultrawide. Found out the hard way the 240hz Alienware monitor doesn’t allow surround.

    • @colewelden
      @colewelden 2 роки тому

      @@Tragic_778 Mine had no stuck pixels. Definitely light bleed in all 4 corners, but that's been true of my last 3 monitors. It's just an IPS thing and I don't notice it except on a black scene also. I just hope these all don't start biting the dust for us after a year or something. It's very odd that it's only a year and change old and getting drivers took me about 45 mins to find a page for it.

    The corners blooming are bad, u did not see that in the dark rom? i see it in a bright rom on black content. My old x34 are much better on blooming U and the rest left that test out or did not talk about it i want to tell you and all: its a fricking huge thing to leave out this topic : Bleed or blooming tests should be a standard test regarding all ips monitors! thj rest is a true > Awsome! xD , the Nvida g sync compatible is not as good as my old x34, it cant even hold still when i limit it to 60 in gaming meny. its trying but its a false sync on this monitor. i also saw that in ur vid here i belive.. u must be used to good gsync to maybe know, idk, My old x34 hold stabil confirmed refresh rates while this x34gs do not! it tryes yes. the newest and only driver dont support the widget. general driver from Microsoft does work. needed the new driver is -so forget the widget app.
    however dont leave out the hate for Blooming kings monitors! G-sync due drivers from Nvidia /acerx34gs is the problem and nothing has changes : last driver 2020. and this screen are left out in the dark and forgotten. so u want get a a good sync what so ever. The screen still is a good one...
    never the less this is a true review for me.
    From what u can see u say, about blooming and bleeding buy some New glasses 👓

    Can this monitor handle 4K footage? I currently have a (relative cheap) simple VA 32" 4K Samsung panel, operating just at 60hz, but it does show me 4K content. I shoot a lot of video with my Samsung Galaxy S21 (later probably an S24/S25) in mostly 4K/60Fps, and I kinda wonder if this monitor is able to display that kind of content; e.g. does it downscale from 4K to 1440p without hiccups?

    • @colewelden
      @colewelden 2 роки тому

      Yeah but with a 3060 you won't be hitting the 180 Hz in almost any game unless you play at lower settings. Even with my 3070 it can only run eSports titles at the full 180 FPS.

    • @vikinghammer87
      @vikinghammer87 2 роки тому +1

      3440x1440 is way better anyway. Nobody has hardware that can handle 4k resolution. 3440x1440 is the perfect resolution. Its 3k resolution essentially without having the huge hardware demand that 4k has.

    • @colewelden
      @colewelden 2 роки тому

      3440 x 1440 is more than 2/3 the pixels of 4K. Uktrawide is a better choice anyway IMO. Think of it as a 16:9 4K monitor that's had the top 1/3 removed. Very nice. Easier to run than 4K and the extra horizontal pixels actually do help immersiveness in games and movies.

      forums.guru3d.com/threads/acer-x34s-or-x34gs.443007/
      According to this its just the gsync range they are both active in. S has internal gsync module which supports 1-175hz and gs doesn't and supports 50-180hz. I'd go with gs since it's cheaper and no one games at under 50hz anyway
