This is my 2017 DGC GT. This is a DIY in how to install an aftermarket radio. I ended up swapping out my other android radio for this one because this unit has more features. It has capability to hold a SIM card and Apple CarPlay. This is the process I took to get it done.

Ok when it comes to the built in mic their is away to deactivate it. Depending on the unit you get. Let me explain. You can get the same unit I got which in order to deactivate the internal mic you would need to physically remove it. Theirs a video in how to do it from TEYES. Yeah, after you make any changes to the system, it’s always recommend it to reboot so that the system properly reset.

Looks like a higher quality unit with lots of features. Thanks for the detailed video!! I currently have all the options selected with dash, rear and 360 camera system. Also, some extra cables and obd module. Just under $1000. I’m still somewhat hesitant since it’s only available from Australia. Worried about warranty etc. decisions decisions……

Does this support multi zone video? Or do the rear screen see exactly what the front unit shows?
How did you get the dvd player to display anything? I tried putting a dvd in and it doesn’t show anything. I also put the harness you mentioned but maybe I missed a connection?

Appreciate all the info! My van has the external amplifier with factory subwoofer in the back. Will I lose balance & fade controls? Crutchfield mentions this on their site with some canbus options.
No this radio has a build in amplifier. So you have some control over balance and fade.

Yes this fit in your 2015 grand caravan. It come complete with frame and plug and play wires. Ready of the box.
I got the 2K version in my Caravan and love it, only complaint is when using Android Auto everything is way to small due to the high res screen. Has anyone found a work-around to change the scaling or dpi?

On the upper left corner of the unit, is there a little mic? I’m quitting to see, but it also,to looks like a little built in mic with the word “mic” written in tiny white text next to it. If this is the case, is it possible to go without the external mic?
For the apple carplay, will it automatically connect when you plug the phone in after use set it up the first time?

When it comes to the apple CarPlay. Yes once you connected the first time it will connect every time unless you disconnected.
Great video. Couple of questions. Does your caravan have a stock amp and sub? Did you have to get an additional separate wire harness? Or the one it came with worked no problem?
My 2015 has a stock amp and sub and it looks like the plugs you have on the back of the stock radio. But I didn’t really see how you wired everything clearly. Thanks in advance for your help.
Yes I do have the stock amp and sub. No extra wires needed. The only extra cable you need is the reverse camera cable. The Teyes unit comes ready with everything else.
What dash kit did you use. Also, did ALL the necessary wiring come with the radio? (Besides the back up camera)
When you order the stereo from TEYES everything is included, including the dash kit and a aftermarket camera if you don’t have an OEM one. Check out the links in the description.
This is a really good system it supports video out by a USB for rear entertainment system. But the only problem is it only clones the front display. Meaning that if you're navigating on the front the people in the back will see the navigation. There's no way to have navigation in the front and a movie playing in the back.

Yes. Everything would work the same. This kit comes with a rear view camera that you could install if you don't have the OEM option.

Yes it will support the factory entertainment DVD with the added wire harness. I added the link to the harness in the description of the video. And for the subwoofer it does I have a factory sub and it sounds good.

I wonder if there's a way to tap into the stock microphones in the rear view mirror instead of messing around with that Teyes microphone that also ruins the clean look.

I looked at this unit, but it is SO expensive to ship.
One question about the previous Android unit you had. I just finished that video & it looks to be way cheaper. Were you happy with it while you had it? I do not need a SIM card (mainly just wanting it for Carplay).
Yeah I was happy with it. I initially also wanted it just for the Apple CarPlay. If that’s want you want it for then yeah that android unit would be it. Also cheaper.
I am a little confused I just ordered it but does it come with the ability to use my factory rear camera on my 2018 dodge grand caravan? Or do I have to buy a harness?
In order to retain OEM rear camera you need an extra cable. I provided the link for the extra cable.

Hello and thank you for waching. I dont have the rear view monitors but this is the cable to retain the rear view camera and rear monitors To retain rear view camera with rear monitors. Plug and play cable which routes which routes the A/V outputs of the OEM VES DVD player to aftermarket receiver

What holds the unit in place? If the frame screws into the unit, what screws did you use because mine didn't come with any screws.
Yeah, that holds the unit in place is the 5 screws. mines come with screws but they’re small Phillips head.

Thank you. For the SiriusXM you can download the app on the radio. run a SIM card or hotspot. And you make it work that way.

Excellent video..but I had a question so if I install one of these stereo what happens to the dvd function? I’m assuming you no longer have the dvd?
I’m not 100% sure since I didn’t have the DVD on my Van but apparently the same cable that keep the stock rear camera also keep the DVD function alive.

What do you mean by full featured android unit. This system runs off android 10. So basically it’s an android tablet.

Yes I have a 2017 and it works. In the link it says up to 2015, but it actually works all the way to the 2020 model. So yes for your 2019 will work. Everything will work fine.

My CC3 unit is holding up very well. I would actually recommend anybody who wants to upgrade the radio to this one. It’s a very good unit. I’m very happy with it.

Yeah only from the AUS vender. Shipping was about 2 weeks. They will help you with any warranty issue and tech as-well. And I got the 32G.

@@briandoddsit’s confusing. I want the 360 camera system but don’t know if I still need the DVR front and rear camera separately. You also need the 128gb CC3 with the 360 but it lets you continue checking out with the 32GB version. Yes shipping is $100ish
@@peteysparks252 How did you discover the 128gb CC3 is required? I ordered the 32GB with the front camera, the rear camera and the OBDII. Didn't end up getting the 360 for my van. If I think that was a mistake I guess I can always move this to another car and get a 128 head for the van. I do wish there was a place in the US to order them. It was $120 for shipping! :(

My Van didn’t come with rear view monitors but there is a cable you can buy to retain rear view monitors. And adding a SIM card you can have Netflix or UA-cam anytime.

Yes it comes complete with all the harness and wires plug and play. It comes with a rear camera to install. If you have the stock camera than you need an extra cable which the link is in the description of the video and that will make the rear view camera plug and play. As far as SIM card I’m using T-Mobile. $20 unlimited data.

Yes, the link says up to 2015. I have a 2017 and it works perfect. It actually works all the way up to 2020. Sim card is optional that’s only if you want Internet on your device if not you can run a hotspot through your phone to get internet on your device.
Wondering from anyone with a rear dvd, can you play the dvd on the back screen still but have the radio on the front like the factory?

No interior fuse box. The only fuse box is next to the car battery in the engine bay.

I’m pretty sure you can, but I have not been able to figure it out. that’s why I’m using the aftermarket mic. There would need to be some rewiring in order to use the OEM mic.

Yes I did the TEYES has a better audio quality. Sounds better.

@@RonDIYMods I have the stock amp too. I have DGC 2008 and 2019. last week I switched media systems between cars. The head unit from 2019 sounds worse in 2008 than the original one. The head unit from 2008 in the 2019 car with an 11-channel standard amplifier resembles a well. If you experiment with replacing standard head units or sell them, do not forget to programmatically remove the theft protection, otherwise the head unit will require a PIN code.
How do you remove the theft protection?
Is there anyway to do a mod that can also control the AC and Climate Control using this Android?

Yes you can use any SIM card. You can get it with your cell phone provider. Just let them know it’s for an android tablet.

in my 2019 dodge caravan the steering wheel controls simply don’t work no matter how many times I’ve tried. Also, the learning functions don’t work either. Be forewarned
You need to get into the radio system and program the canbus to make it work.

@@RonDIYMods I removed the unit today today to check my wiring and found that the plug that goes into “c”, which is the can port, was not all of the way in. After getting it back in I was able to use the steering wheel controls. Thanks for your content
