Heyyy lovelies, in this video I showing you how I did Hydro-Dipping with Jesmonite. My amazing friend and Patron Joy, asked me last week if we could do it ? I said I would try and here we are ! so ALL CREDIT to Joy over on Instagram at
/ vestahomeandhearth
I was so excited to try Hydro Dipping Jesmonite that I ran immediately to the garden and tried it .. I then fed my findings back to Joy and thanked her for her suggestion.
Hydro Dipping has of course been around for many many years and so many products are used. However after an extensive search I could not find Hydro Dipping Jesmonite on You Tube. I have to warn you .. once you start you may not be able to stop. It is a tad addictive like most things ! haaaa
If you do try this or anything else you see on my channel then please do tag me on Instagram and use the hashtag #Clairemademedoit Credit for this idea goes to Surya at Goldline Artistry. I loved the idea so much !! so thanks Surya ! x

Jesmonite does not need sealing before dipping ❤️❤️
are you able to do this with cured resin pieces also or only things like this or clay type materials?
I’m so glad you did this video. I’ve been watching videos on hydro dipping and was very interested in it. I saw them move the paint off the surface with their hand while the piece is still under water. It eliminates the bumps of paint on your pieces. You are probably getting texture because you are shaking the piece under water to move the paint away. Just a thought unless you like the texture. Great job!
heyyyy Katherine ... ahhhh so its possible that I shake to hard ? so just shake gently ? great advice thank yooo that could totally be the reason for the texture x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner Hi Claire, you don’t need to shake the piece. Just move the water away from the piece with the opposite hand. Then pull it out of the water. You will get a cleaner finish. Good luck 😊
@@Sweetencourager21 ohhhhhh I gotchya ohhh that's good to know for sure !
Incredible! So, so pretty. Love the blue and copper. What a great idea to do with those pieces that look a bit flat, boring, or even ugly. Now you have me wondering if this would work with any of my resin pieces! Thank you once again for the great tips and ideas you give us in these videos. The psychedelic, hippie colors and swirls have made an awesome comeback and I will probably be trying this technic before summer is over! Love your work...keep the videos coming!!! 🐇
thank you so much Charlene .. a few have asked me about Resin and I really do not know .. my gut feeling is that it won't stick .. and if it sticks it won't stay :( but it is something I guess I could try tomorrow and then post it on my community tab x so glad you're going to try it though it is so much fun x
That looked a lot of fun 😁😁
It really was 😍😍😍
You are simply the sweetest, your videos are amazing, your energy as well and you have the most wonderful voice! I think you bring a lot of joy into the heart of many people! Thank you for everything you do 😍
Ohhh thankyou so much Moniqua that really does mean so much ❤️❤️❤️ such an amazing thing to hear and means a lot that I inspire others xx
Absolutely stunning 😍, do we need to use a sealer before doing this?
You have some wonderful ideas hun, another lovely video. Hydro dipping always seemed so out of reach until now x
thank you so much lovely xxxx I really have Joy to thank for bringing this to my attention its really so much fun x messy yes but fun x
Hi there rhis one turned out amazing and so fun to watch love your creativity ❤️ 💕 💖 ♥️ 💗

thank yoooo Stacy and I am sorry it got dunked again lol
Love your energy, Claire!! Thanks for the awesome ideas!
thank you Rayana xxx really glad you like it
Love this video. And your colors are fabulous.
They turned out beautiful. Love a bit of hydro dipping. I have so many tins of spray paint left over from different jobs. Must start grabbing plain things and dipping them. Oh god Claire what have you started??? I wonder would a coat of spray varnish sort out those coasters?
haaaaa Emer sorry haaaaa you will have so much fun I know it lol I am not sure about varnish I do have some but not sure what it will do x
Oh yes! I must do this to my underwhelming soap dishes! Thank you Joy, and Claire! My daughter used to do her fingernails with this technique using nailpolish....
You did a beautiful job 👏 💜
ooooo that will be lovely x thanks so much Melissa x ahhh yes that must be fun
Great…Grater…claire!!!! Soooooo cool ❤️ love them all

I love all your videos ❤️❤️❤️
You r the queen of Jesmonite experiments ❤️❤️❤️
thank yooo Nesrine xxx
These look great Claire! Can't wait to see what you do next :-)
thank you so much Kate xx
I tried hydro dipping on some trinket trays I'd made with plaster, they came out ok. I was pleasantly surprised by the results, but as I was limited with the nail polish I had I realised I needed better and more colours to try. I haven't got around to doing it again. But love the results of your vid.
ahhh Dawn yes a few have said nail varnish that would be fun I wonder how it dries ? so glad you like this xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner they dried pretty well, as long as when painting your nails lol. But I loved the spray paint idea ❤
A fantastic video. Even the 'failures' are stunning. Something for me to think about most definitely, but probably not with spray paint.
thank you so much Christopher x yeh it was so much fun to do
The blue and copper was amazing but the ones with Starry night vibes were my favourites!
Ohhh I agree they were my favs too 😍😍😍 thanks Mizz ❤️❤️❤️
This is Georgeous! 💙 I love the results!
thank yooo Meg xxx
I love the big round pot. It looks like you're in space looking at earth! xx
thank yooo Amethyst it totally does
Hi, wonderful Idea I like it.. The blue and copper look very nice.. You are gorgeous
Thank you so much Lovely xxx so sorry for the delay I am sooo behind on replying to comments x
Well since I’m such a newbie still I have a whole box of trays that I messed up. I’m now going to try this and see what happens :) Thanks again Claire for your ideas :)
ahhhh that is amazing they will be beautiful xx
Hiya Claire, never have I ever seen such a thing. Interesting process, bit hit and miss though. Some great success, some not. Overall hard work. 👏👏👏
thanks Dad :)
Beautiful, reminds me of the tie dye, I did at school, still waiting for my jesmonite to arrive, so excited, my usual hobby is decoupage, for which I use, mod podge, then polyvine heavy duty wood varnish to seal, it is high heat resistant, fast drying, hard finish, and I use it on coasters, is there any reason why I couldn't use this on jesmonite, either dipped or undipped, to seal, thanks I love your videos.
heyyyy Susan wow that actually sounds ideal for Jesmonite but I dont know for sure x I hope your Jesmonite arrives soon and you can test it out x
Have you tried mixing boron into they water? You can use nail varnish too.
Hi Claire! Thank you for this amazing idea! Do we need to seal our jesmonite items before hydro dipping them?
Heyyy lovely .. sorry for delay x no it does not need sealing xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner okay thank you ❤️
Iv done it using distilled water and a powder to catch it. Never shamed it just dip slow and take out slow so what you don’t get going in you could get going out. It’s fun using Christmas tree plain round decorations
oooooo Alison that sounds like fun too :)
I’ve seen this before but not followed up on it because resin has its own colour 😂😂😂 but it looks so much fun
thanks girl a few have asked if it can be done with resin but not sure at all i must try it x and yes true .. Resin generally doesnt need saving for the most part x
Love this! #clairemademedoit is going to be my new saying to my husband 🤣
thank you so much Nicky ha ha love that x
Going to try this but can’t straight away, thank you for all the ideas you do xx
Amazing Vivienne ❤️❤️❤️
These look so gorgeous!
thank you so much Mary xxx
Hi claire, i like those results but got a question. Had you already sealed the jesmonite piece before hydro-dipping it? X
heyyyyy Kim .. thank yooo xx no I did not seal any of them xx
Was excited to try this. I used a deco gold spray and it didn't work. does it have to be a certain type of spray?
heyyyy Jo ... Oh no .. I hadnt really thought about different kinds of sprays not working ... I only have Rustoleum metallics and chalk paint x
I remember doing this at school 😍 some great results 😍❤
ahhhh yayyy you did ? I was here thinking i was the only one haaaaa
@@ClairesCraftyCorner definitely not, so much marble paper lol its great fun 😍 ❤ xx
I used to do that with nails back in my beauty therapy days, except I didn’t use spray paint cos my clients would have given me some funny looks lol xx
ahhh ha ha Donna a few have said this now .. it makes me wanna try it lol
Love the Blue and Gold 😻
thank yoooo so much xx so do I :) its my fav for sure
Hmm, I think maybe if you used a sealer then cups wouldn't stick to the surface. It could be the spray paint that is causing it to stick? These turned out really beautiful, by the way! I have never heard of hydro dripping... where the eff have I been? lol.
heyyyyy girl ... never ?? ohhh we did it in art class here but i guess we would have done more marbling on the top layer than dipping so glad you enjoyed it x
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I really wanted to take art classes but never could because I was in band (yes, band geek here!) and apparently that was at the same time. :( I loved being in the band but I have often thought about how much I would have enjoyed art classes!! So, yeah, never did that kind of marble effect before, but it is so cool!
@@trishscreativecrafts ohhhh Trish haaa live that xxx Art was compulsory in our school curriculum until we were 14 .... then we could choose subjects xx
@@ClairesCraftyCorner wow, that is so interesting! Everything I've learned about art I've taught myself. I missed out! Lol.
@@trishscreativecrafts ahhhhh yeh I know our school systems are so different aren't they x fascinating stuff
Love your video’s, you give me so many ideas’s
Thankyou so much 🙌😁❤️
Were these all sealed before you did the hydro dipping? X
heyyy lovely x no i ddnt seal any
How about sealing the coaster with the jesmonite sealer and then trying the heat test? What do you think, will that work?
heyyy Saee .. It is definitely worth trying I am not sure if the sealer will stick to the oil based spray paints but can try x
Do you have to use warm water, or doesn't it matter, Claire?
I watched a video awhile ago and that woman said it had to be warm water, which I'd never heard before.
heyy Amethyst .. I believe the warm water just stops it solidifying immediately yes
@@ClairesCraftyCorner
Thank you xx
Are these spray Paints matt, satin or gloss or would it work with any of them xx
Hryyyyyy lovely .. these are metallic and Gloss x and I have a video out tonight testing Chalk Paint too ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve got a box of marabu marbling inks I definitely need to try this 😍
Ohhhh Amanda that sounds incredible ... that is what I would have used in school for sure loved it x
AWESOME
Oh my god, just gorgeous!
thank you so much Elsi xxx
You can spray the water use cocktail stick to make patterns then dip
thank yoooo so much I did this in tonights video and said thank you xx I just didnt get round to replying to you here until now lol
Starry night! Lol ❤
oooooo yes Sheryl xxx
Loving the videos thank you x
thank you so much Donna xxx
Hi, you do need to seal afterwards... an thanks for video great as all ways...
heyyy John .. no no sealing needed x
Would hydro dipping work on concrete?
heyyy lovely yes absolutely it does x
Can it be done on resin?
heyyy yKaren .. sadly I did not try it .. my gut says no .. but I will give it a go tomorrow and post in my community tab
@@ClairesCraftyCorner oooh ty it would look amazing on glitter resin if it worked
@@ilaria298 yeh it would for sure 😍😍
Wowzer I love this, I will deffo be having a go #clairemademedoit 😅
Maybe leave the item to cure for 24 hours before trying the heat test.
heyyyy lovely ... that one was a tester from days before .. so it had been well over 72 hours xx :( sadly will need an alternative top coat maybe to be used with heat x
Can u hydro resin pieces ..#clairemademedoit! 😮
Heyyy Sheryl I totally meant to test it out havent yet x
