Originally the ending was gonna be different but was cut and changed for being too ill fitting and had some problems with special effects: We see the flushed away zombie arm with epideme in it floating into space and hear it trying to decide which way it should go, the arm then points towards the camera and says in a deep voice 'this way.'
My favorite line from this is when Kochanski tells Lister that if he blows himself up she'll never speak to him again. After he leaves she asks "how stupid am i?" Kryten responds "according to my calculation, maam..."
This was the first Red Dwarf episode I saw (on a video that had been recorded for another show) and the video ran out with Lister talking to the epideme virus with the explosives, so my impression was that the show was ultra-dark. I was also about 7/8, so I was scared off the show for about three years, until the publicity ahead of Season 8. My inner child breathed a sigh of relief 13 years later when I finally saw the rest of the episode.
The one thing I remember about the next one you're doing is the "Hand, pick up the ball" scene. 😉 Also, thank you, Dena. Enjoying this trip down Red Dwarf Memory Lane. 👍😀
2:27 - Um, no it wasn't and no they're not because you're not the Kochanski from this Lister's universe. Grant and Naylor writing scripts before they've had the first coffee of the day again...
I doubt coffee made any diff they fucked up continuity constantly and rob grant didn't even care about continuity but I don't think he was writing this series
I liked it too, but it wasn't one of my favourites. I thought the part where Carmen tries to make love to Lister was extremely gross, and I make it a point to turn my head whenever that part airs. Still, this was good. I liked the idea of the virus sounding like a game show host and I loved the look of it on the screen.
when I saw this one when I was 7 the zombie lady and virus scared me because at the time I watched it a had a hundred ten fever and though that I got the virus that and I ate some nasty ranch dressing so that's what I thought the kissing scene tasted like
I was never sure about Epideme. Don't get me wrong, the concept was fun and everyone did a fine job on the day but... something felt off about it to me? I guess I had trouble meshing the cold horror of the situation with the blips of fun. I know that's a pretty Red Dwarf thing to do and it *did* get laughs out of me but I always much preferred Nanarchy. Speaking of which... XD
YES MORE RD VLOGS! Also have you seen the deleted scene where Cat has caught a mouse and Kochanski is disgusted by it so later punishes him? Omg I wished they kept that in!

Talk about a fare well to arms
Things Lister had to kiss; giant roach like creatures, zombies, gelfs, Rimmer(!)
All because he complained that Chris was getting more action than he was
@@archiefraser8927 careful what you wish for and how you wish for it.
@@archiefraser8927 really? At the time I don’t think Chris had kissed anyone else on the show.
I love Kryten screeching at 8:47.
Craig: JESUS... It's ok I'm only acting XD
I thought of including that clip, it was really cute.
The first time I saw his episode I thought this was how Lister was going to get the robotic arm the future vision of him had in Future Echoes
I think that was the original idea
I think that was the original idea
Always nice to see a new one of these. Thanks Dena, happy new year!
4:50 I love how Cat says that line
Welp, Dena uploaded another Red Dwarf vlog. Excuse me while I pause my entire life to watch :)
The one thing I remember about the next one you're doing is the "Hand, pick up the ball" scene. 😉 Also, thank you, Dena. Enjoying this trip down Red Dwarf Memory Lane. 👍😀
I was just watching Game Grumps playing Hand Simulator today, and that scene came right into my brain.
Sledge O'Matic Yeah, that scene is among my favs of Red Dwarf. Why I'm looking forward to Dena's next Vlog so much.
"It's got a couple of the usual season seven BUGS..."
Pun intended?
Random American Star bugs
omg I'd forgot "fabaroo" was a word. I'm gonna use that now.
2:27 - Um, no it wasn't and no they're not because you're not the Kochanski from this Lister's universe. Grant and Naylor writing scripts before they've had the first coffee of the day again...
it was Naylor and Alexander. I don't think Alexander really got RD. Naylor didn't like the interference but he did the same to Robs' script
I doubt coffee made any diff they fucked up continuity constantly and rob grant didn't even care about continuity but I don't think he was writing this series
Yes!
Great as ever see you in the next one
2:23 i dont get this line, doesn't she remember that she's not from this universe?
Unfortunately for you I recall the Kryten whine being quite popular over our way :P
Wonder why they didn’t make it go down to his leg, easier to replace a leg with a false one than an arm. Rule of funny I guess.
If i had to lose a limb to save my life, I think my first choice would be a leg.
Easier to replicate the functions of a leg with prosthetics.
Hope you had a good holiday season!
You too ^.^

I haven't. I'll have to look that up.
