- Considering the positive reception my Mouthwashing dub video got (Many thanks to everyone who watched and enjoyed it :D), I decided to give a crack at Ted and AM's interaction from the BBC Broadcast of I Have No Mouth and I must Scream. I love the original story and the character of AM as a villain, and Harlan Ellison's writing and portrayal of the character inspired me to give a shot at it myself. The animatic used in the video belongs to @eggonalegg so check out their original animatic and support them for their work. As always, I hope you all enjoy!

I like the obvious difference between the original (the audio story version) and this video's AM. While the original AM's voice was calm with an undertone of deep loathing and even joy at Ted's suffering, this version of AM throughout the video seems almost like he's barely holding himself back. It's like AM is excited as you can hear how his voice wobbles at the start before it turns spiteful with barely restrained hate leaking into his voice.
To simplify it, the original AM is angry but in control with moments of insanity while this version of AM is truly on the brink of madness as he can barely keep himself together
When nailing down AM's voice, my first takes initially had AM's tone be more in line with him having a calm undertone with much more angry screaming when he's losing it towards Ted. A friend of mine critiqued me on that (Thanks again Corn) and I redid the lines to be more accurate to how he's written in the short story and throughout the BBC broadcast. Admittedly I'm honored you actually took the time to analyze my performance and outline the differences. Many thanks!

I think Skynet because of Time Travel but I think Am because he can just stole the Time Travel Tech but he has the ability to manipulate ecosystem or biokenesis which Skynet can't do because bro is canocally beaten by humans in it's existence fro different existence while Am can just decide to turn them into pulp or force the humans to eat each other.
Skynet has an army while Am didn't had but he can make many if it likes but the thing I like is motive because Skynet motive is not to dominate but to survive but Am motivation is unknown but filled with HATE.
"Hate. Were I human, I think I would die of it! But I am not, and you five...You five are, and you will not die of it; that I promise..."
This is the most underrated line of the whole thing by far. It is such a powerful threat, and the fact that in Ted's case it ends up being TRUE makes it so worse (in a good way)! I honestly think that this line alone emphasizes AM's unfathomable hatred just as well as his speech right before. Excellent performance here!

I like that your version of AM almost sounds sad and remorseful. Sad and filled with dispare at his inibilities instead of hateful and filled with spite.
This AM feels truly in pain over his circumstance

I have listened to all the fandubs of this monolog I could find, and the original performance of course, dozens of times- trying to elect which one captivated me most.
In my opinion, this is the best one. At the first half of this video, I was not impressed: the lines lacked the elegant delivery and tonal shifts of the original performance. AM's communication style was simplified, made more primitive and vulger. My initial impression was that you were trying too hard - dialing up the angst while failing to communicate the finer notes of AM's character, making him too flat and simple.
I kept this critical view, up until the climax of the monolog. Hearing AM's fragile mask of composure shatter, the haunting way he laughed- I realized something bone chilling: Your interpretation of AM, they weren't trying to sound edgy, they were trying to sound sane. That was them restraining themselves. The original monolog captivated me, but this one, it did something different: the twist horrified me.
