I played the first game in it's original version when it first came out. Pretty grindingly difficult from the perspective of ammo scarcity and toughness of enemies.

I had a friend back when this came out, yes I’m ancient I know, who showed this game to me and my brother and we were instantly hooked. OG Xbox days and this game was pretty much unknown at the time because halo and the upcoming halo 2 were all the rage and, for some, you could play online with friends. Kotor and Kotor 2 were very underrated and they hold up extremely well today. I still love to play them on my switch and series X today.

Picked this game up for half off last night. The dlc was announced, and if I didn't have to work today, it would be what I'd be playing. I got to play maybe 15 minutes, and I already love the atmosphere and the inventory management. The voice acting is also so very good. I'm suprised to have not seen more about this game. Usually New Blood games are on my radar. It's a great suprise.

Eurojank is a reductive term usually describing some obscure niche thing. Gothic 1 and 2 are objectively one of the best action/rpgs ever made.

It was interesting watch and i agree with most of your points here, but i disagree that gothic controls scheme is bad. If you think about it it makes perfect sense, its just unusual, the ctrl button is intent and arrow keys is the action and direction also makes perfect sense. It just sad that game doesnt explain it at all, i assume its in physical instruction manual, but they should have at least included the basics inside the game menu. At first it was weird, but after some time i quickly accustomed to them to the point i actually like it. The thing that i personally not a big fan of is the combat system, i get that some people like it, but to me its a bit finicky and janky as fighting multiple monsters becomes frustrating, some enemies is hard to read or they are to quick so you end up basically guessing their movement.

The phantom menace and attack of the clones were good movies ☹️

Honestly? I kinda liked 2033's stealth, sure it wasnt as good as Light's, but i found i could often sneak more times than others say. I will agree it is finicky though, i just wanted to say that it atleast has an audience :D Though, brilliant review <3

Mass Effect, the first one, remains my favorite of the three games in the trilogy. As much of an improvement the other two games made upon ME1, the way the story turned in Mass Effect 2 with the absolutely absurd ending and the terrible (in my opinion) decision to soft-reboot the whole cast makes me loathe it. Yeah the writing is good, and the characters are great, but everything we did in ME1 was just blown to oblivion for no good reason at all. ME1 reigns supreme for me, and in one reality of our world, I'm sure ME2 and ME3 truly built off of ME1 and it's DLC cliff-hangers.

playin it right now with the unofficial patch and holy crap it's been twenty years and it feels like how the game shouldve been so far. I've only ever gotten to downtown back in the day so im excited.

I replay this all the time. Loved Minerva's Den also. I even modded the Remastered edition for better textures. This is the best Bioshock regardless of what others think 😁

Really glad to finally see this game in a good light. reading negative steam reviews made me wary but this looks really awesome. I'm a huge fan of Thief and this adapts it so well. I really wanted to like Shadow Tactics. Alas, it wasn't for me. A skill issue, to be sure, and it's clearly a great game in the right hands. I just frustrated myself. This game looks inviting and I think I'll check it out. I've added it to my list after watching your video. Any game where I can chuck dudes off the map is a hit in my book. Did you find yourself frustrated? You likened it to a puzzle, which to me sounds like I'd be save scumming or rage quitting. I know there are times where a method might seem perfect and you try to get it to work according to your plan, but beyond that how often were you reloading a previous save?

I love this retrospective, mainly because unlike other ones you ask the obvious questions an 8 year old me has not questioned for years. Genuinely never considered the obvious of why the black vulkars and hidden beks were right next to eachother, or how the hidden beks operate LOL. Really funny in hindsight, love the video!
