GOD this game sounds like a blast. Now I feel bad I've had Blades of the Shogun in my library for so long and haven't played it yet, I'll have to move it way up on my to-play list 😆 I'm definitely gonna play this in the future. And I'm really glad you mentioned that the game encourages you to change your crew members from time to time, 'cause I have the same problem of finding a thing that works for me in a game and just sticking with the same strategy until it doesn't work anymore. I can't think of another mechanic I've seen similar to the bonus points/vigor thing you talked about. Closest thing that comes to mind are the stress, disease and quirks in Darkest Dungeon that discourage you from bringing the same hero over and over again during expeditions, but you don't get any *bonuses* from choosing other heroes, and if your roster is upgraded you can keep a bunch of the same type/class of heroes anyway to choose among them while your afflicted characters are recovering. It's really cool Mimimi really made variety count, I'm just really sad the studio closed down. I hope these guys get to join other good studios or projects in the future.
That bonus which encourage players to bring different team members on missions looks interesting, usually games use a fatigue or injury system to do that. It seems like a good positive way to get players to try different tactics and teams setups.
I think this game is more my style than Desperados. 3 was my first game from them, and while it was a good game, I personally didn't enjoy it much. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but Desperados 3 felt very strict when trying different non-lethal tactics. The best character was the voodoo lady, but when she wasn't available, it felt unnecessarily on rails in what it allowed you to do. I remember throwing the coin for distraction constantly. This game seems like every character is overpowered like the voodoo lady which allows more experimentation for what can work. When I heard they shut down, the game fell down my priority list because I knew my support wouldn't matter as much. This review has definitely revived my intrigue in this game.

You sold me on this one though, the variety in the characters looks really fun to play around with. Adding it to my wishlist. Sad to see Mimimi go, but as you said, they certainly went out on a high note.
Great video, man! It's a shame the guard layout is identical regardless the time of day, but at least you're pushed into using different crew members between missions. Liked the detail you went into the gameplay. Made me a bit nostalgic of the brutal difficulty Commandos had!
