every time i render, it outputs it with a black box around the entire video. This box is only seen when i hit render but not before

I need help. If I have two landscapes. How do I pick which landscape my PCG graph would sample. It seems to favor the first landscape I added in the level, and it ignores the second one? How do I force it to use the second one or both if possible. For anyone that can give me an answer, thank you in advance.

Anyone still getting relatively square grids even after the transform?
So is a mesh better than a landscape? Can I use voxel plugin on a mesh? Is a mesh more or less performant? Does it take up more or less vram? Does 5.4 PCG work just as well with a mesh? There's a lot of questions when using a mesh.

This is great. But what if you wanted to make, say, a stone path through the forest, and not have vegetation on that path? Yet have the path be a controllable spline that can blend into the dirt landscape on the sides?

Hello Aziel , really awesome tutorial ! really appreciate u give us such the great contents. I have tested to duplicate the scattered mesh , bit it seems will lost the PCG on the duplicate one ,even they have same actor tag on it.
Would love a video on how to implement this new "Runtime Hierarchical Generation". Runtime seems to be the future of PCG.

Not sure if you know but you can render Apple ProRes video with different settings 4:4:4, 4:4:2, HQ, etc... You need to activate the plugin. Just in case you don´t want to deal with image sequences.

Hey Aziel, I tried to draw a spline but the points project under the map every time the only time the points stay on the surface is if I click on the option “world” then it stays on the surface after I press accept and go to selection mode, I am unable to drag the points to alter the shape. What do you think I’m facing here?
Hey bro, you obviously got a lot more experience than me -question, how come we don’t or “can’t” use images to give a sense of a “height map” like we can do with terrains to create the models? Wouldn’t it be cool just pop in the photo & it renders it into a mesh like the landscape “plane” then just “weld” them together then stick the bones on & animate & rig out? Would this be possible? 🤔
Now this is the sort of stuff where AI generated it all for me sounds like a good solution, I make 3d, make music and use UE, but assembling it all together is another skill set, make me an AI that eases management

Great tutorial. But you can add/edit sound attenuation on sound waves in the scene, in the details panel
Very true. That is a great bway of doing it also. I personally like to build a premade asset that I can just drag into to all the places in your level you need with minimal tweaks. Just a time saver for very big levels.

How do I get the grass off the cliff if I have no cliff map and am using the standard landscape? it is off the sand and other painted layers but the cliff and grass are auto and its on both.
You can use a normal to density node to mask out the steaper sections that have the cliff material. Check out my most recent video, I cover how to mask by surface angle. It works on meshes or landscapes.

Hello! You are the master of PCG so i'm reaching out to you for help. I have made a PCG that generates me room each time I open a door. I have the locations of the walls. My question is: Is there a way to make a World map (Press "M" for map) That shows all my rooms? Again I have the walls X and Y. I was thinking of using widget with canvas, but I'm not sure and I can;t find any information of that. I just have X and Y and I wish to create a world map that changes in game mode. Any advise ? Thank you!
🌟Another really good one, Thaddaeus! @azielarts Any idea how much of a performance hit this delivers? I used the other PCG technique you taught on a huge map and when I added my camera I went from 70 FPS to the warning about low memory and very low frame rate. I'm sure I've done something wrong - starting with the map size. I did limit PCG spawn to just visible to camera but not much help. Going to duplicate the level/map and on the copy try to apply World Partition to reduce the data load. I mention PCG because I've seen some forum posts that say it is costly. I'm doing cinematics so thought my 64 GB, 3080 box could handle. I guess not.
looks like violet colored nodes are substrate and they are slowly migrating everything
I did not know pcg can do this i will try it later although my landscape has layers i cannot paint them due to it being a substrate but maybe it will work by just using the layers

Running an i7 6700, 64 gb ram, and an 4060ti 16 gb with 2tb portable ssd. It is sometimes slow but is working - like a slug :)
@azielarts I couldn't get the points to only apply to the grass layer. @24:43 Also I could not get the points to show up at all unless I set the Float Value to a negative number like - 0.2 or lower. As a result my trees are still growing in the adjacent Landscape Layer. Any idea how to fix this?

This worked really well until 5.4 Now the Foliage Procedural stuff has been removed. I'm guessing for the new system? Do you have a video on that?
