    Instead of calling it hfa. Why not call it covert anxiety or masking anxiety.

  • @philipholding
    @philipholding 7 днів тому

    In my mind, your definition of hfa is just masking anxiety from others. Its what millions of people do everyday because they feel weak if they say they have anxiety. So if there is hfa, there must be low or even moderate functioning of anxiety. What symptoms do these manifest?

    I just don’t take a vacation at all. Haven’t taken one in a long time, so that is how I avoid the vacation to work transition. There isn’t any coverage for me at work, so I can’t really take any time off. HR sometimes gets upset that I just let years worth of unused vacation pile up, but my manager just tells them to let it be.

      People suck! Have had such a hard, intense year and really been struggling with burn out but was somewhat coping and functioning. Then I'd go to work and my co workers would absolutely pick me apart and point out so many petty things and flaws (meanwhile they are incompetent jerks). Now I am just paralyzed and totally burned out. There's no rewards in trying. Someone always has criticism and I am already my own harshest critic.

    After 7 years of a very nonstop, stressful, toxic job I had a break. Ended up on SSRIs, it forced me to look for a different employer. It worked out great. Ended up in a similar position with less on my plate. Got off SSRIs. First few years have been good, but feeling the stress and overwhelm creeping in lately. In my busy season, have three young kids, feels like everything is dirty, needs repair, messy, etc., basically let my fitness go, not getting enough sleep. It all just feels like too much.

    I found your videos awhile ago, but since have had two of my best friends and comrades in recovery die from fentanyl poisoning and suicide, respectively. I wept when you said “I will be kind to myself.” I have been worrying that I failed both of them somehow, but hearing you say it felt like hearing them say it to me, to remind me they love me and wouldn’t want me to guilt myself for their deaths. I know they want me to move forward and keep healing, even though they are no longer physically by my side in the journey.

    I have worked with so many people till now. We all have busy lives at home n work eventually our mind gets cluttered with thoughts. I meditate sometimes but have not come to the point where I feel calm

    • @CalmlyCoping
      @CalmlyCoping 9 днів тому

      Calm can sometimes be achieved from meditation, but it is also more about the process of being present with yourself and observing what is happening from within. This gives us so much more awareness and control over how we choose to respond in situations.

    • @chasing_mentalclarity

      I am at a very beginning stage where I observe my thoughts and be aware of it. However often people say that in meditation u feel calm . I do meditate sometimes but u know my negativity and stress levels are so high that I get distracted easily and frequently I just babble myself as if I m talking to other people. This sounds weird but this is what I m going through😔
