Great episode Gary, we were at the same viewpoint last week on a California cruise, fabulous road overlooking Universal Studio park.

Hi Gary - I like the idea of changing the colour to grey. For some reason I thought red didn't suit the Corniche. I own a 'Titan Grey' Saab with the excellent colour code '303' (the Airfix boy in me appreciated that no.! It was also the number Eric Carlsson used on his Saab 96 sometimes) if you want to take a look as it's one of the nicest 'greys' I've come across. Great result with the seats too! As a matter of interest, will you be re-colouring the red piping? I think the seats would look a lot better with a dark grey piping! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! Cheers!

Yea… incredible find, but it is done in black!!!! Worst colour for a Corniche!! Who on earth would choose such a hideous colour combination to re-leather an interior for a beautiful Corniche?? Yuk!!!!!!

Gary, I have to agree with some other commenters. A red Corniche is stunning. Plus it looks to be beautiful paint on the car. And with a fresh black interior with matching body color piping?? I’d say keep it red all day!

I heard that about the XJS too, engine in back, that’s why they designed in the flying buttresses to help better support the weight of the engine out back

What a fantastic find Gary, it looks brand new! I think the grey exterior with this black and red piped interior will look fantastic. What shade of grey are you thinking of? One suggestion! I love when they did black interiors with red carpets. It really sets off the black and even more so with the red piping! Can't wait to see this restoration! Sorry to say, but the “quality of those seats” isn’t there. Mulliner Park Ward generously stuffed the pleats with a defined crown, likewise the bolsters. These are flat, meaning that new covers were simply placed and stretched over tired old foam.

That car has not aged at all it still looks like a rich man’s car

it’s meant to be, leave the car red, the new interior is matched perfectly, it’ll be stunning.

...well... at least you must have been able to get all those brake components for the price of one of my front brake discs (okay Pads and Rotors for sure, maybe a couple of the Calipers)

Another great video. I've noticed on a couple of videos I watched there's a mark on your left cheek, looks slightly dark and raised blotch. So obviously not oil as seen it on different videos. I hope im not speaking out if turn but may be worth asking GP to check it out. Hopefully nothing suspicious. Keep up the good work. And if you ever get round to a Jaguar 3.2 XJ6 x300 model I'd be absolutely delighted. My apologies if too personal an observation. You're almost as handsome as your cars 🙂

I have to say that the miraculous Corniche interior with the bright red piping really does justify keeping the car in that bold red…. why bother with all the extra expense and effort of a repaint… just let the car come together naturally, someone will love it !

What a find! Great video as always Gary, nice to see that lovely Corniche coming together again. I think grey is a great colour, a little more stately than red on a Rolls Royce and the red piping will set off nicely with it. Plus the Elite and the 928 are both red and you can have too much of a good thing!
