You are now one of the leading authorities on restoring the Corniche, you could make his car look like new , no problem at all just like you’ve done with yours. Great viewing Gary, keep them coming !
Thanks Spence!
This episode was a joy to watch. So entertaining, perfect knowledge, totally impressive filming & production.
How cool is bob. The fact he contacted you due to your videos. So heart warming.
I really like to think that he’s wealthy enough to fly you over and let you restore it like the merc.
Gary - would be really really cool if you took care of Bob's Corniche and made it spotless like your own! I would be watching every episode ;-)
Great to see two such opposite characters get on so well. Both of you guys are great to watch for completely different reasons.
Gary, I didn't know you were so funny. That deadpan "we"? I fell out of my chair. You two are actually very funny together. He's clearly aiming to do things as halfway as possible. He is, in this respect, the anti-Gary. I think y'all recreated the Odd Couple here. I would pay for a whole series.
True
Great episode with Bob.
Many thanks
Gary passing on his knowledge is a lovely thing to see. It’s a long journey to get the Corniche back on the road but it can happen with some effort.
I follow Bob, he's very entertaining! Great videos, Gary.
Thanks 👍
Sharing knowledge is what the classic car scene is all about. We’re all in it together.
Absolutely. Spread the word and help each other out. But for some selfish people knowledge is power! Regards
You certainly know what you're talking about Gary so pleased I found your channel. Thank you
It’s my pleasure Adrian. Thanks for tuning in. Regards
Great collaboration greetings from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪
I’m so pleased I came across your channel Gary.
The steady way you explain things makes restoring seem possible and gives a lot of hope that we can also.
Thank you
That’s what I set out to do so thanks for the kind words. Regards.
Naturally, as an English man, I baulked at Bob's vision of the Rolls Royce. But, it is his car and his dream. I'm pleased to see that Gary also shared a similar sentiment.
...'The Silver Shadow Drophead Coupé was Caine’s first car. Legend has it that he walked into the Jack Barclay showroom on Berkeley Square with a handwritten shopping list which read: ‘milk, bread, newspaper, cigarettes, Rolls-Royce’'... There's more to the story but thought Bob would like that!
True. The guy turned him away thinking he was a broke time waster so he went and bought one at the next showroom, returned in it to Jack Barclay and put two fingers up to the gutted snobby salesman. Regards.
Ģlad you gents made this happen, Bob is a great character with a heart of gold, watched his channel for years . Hope you revisit soon , in between all your other on going projects. 👍
Who knows? I could be back! Regards
@@classic.obsession I have a feeling....
You certainly know your stuff Gary always look forward to the latest edition 😊
Much appreciated thanks for tuning in!!
His comment about the music, had me rolling on the floor , keep the music Gary its great
Gary’s brother was in a band in late 80s called the LA’s (means friends in Liverpool) so hopefully his music taste is good
@@apb3251 OMG Lee Mavers is Gary's brother?! That's being related to Britpop royalty!
@@dmorga1 yeah indeed
Gary, this was a very good video. Cause you made him talk about his life on things he never talked about. Honestly, you are a very good interviewer. Congrats and I hope to see more of you two together even if you come from two different world. That’s what makes the beauty of the film 😊
By the way, I love your British accent so much !!!
Great collection and nice guy.
Very hospitable. Regards
Absolutely brilliant love both channels. Hopefully Bob can visit Liverpool soon
Walk away… great videos .
Because of Video Bob is that I found Gary, excellent content and a collaboration I was hoping to see one day. Two solid and great fellas to enjoy watch tackling problems, love it!
Truth bomb: the exhaust is the least of your problems 😅
Great video Gary, great to hear some of Bob’s past and how he there.
I always find it interesting to hear people’s stories and the journey that got them to where they are. Regards.
Gary is such a nice guy, I remember seeing Roger Hodgson drive around the sierra nevada foothills in his Corniche Convertible back in the early 1980s
🏁 Super video 🇺🇸🇬🇧👌🏻
Another top release Gary, 10/10 ..that Amercan guy is one cool fella ❤ get the GB bumpers on Bob
Gary watching you work on cars gives me hope I can do anything, plus your humor cracks me up.
Much appreciated.
I'm not sure Bob is listening he just wants you to fix everything in a Day Gary.😂
Exactly what I felt
That's video bald Mosley for ya..... You should see his interviews..... I'm surprised he didn't cut you off every sentence.
@@sixthrees333333Hahhahaha…. So true…. I was thinking the same.
Love the good humored banter between you and Bob. I hope you take this project on.
22:47. Totally got scammed at that garage. They saw him coming a mile away. I think Bob is way out of his league, Gary.
I always enjoy watching you and I'm glad you cane to vegas to meet Bob, I also own a 77' convertible corniche here in Vegas. I keep saying I would like to create a youtube channel if only I had the time. I also have 3 other RR projects, anyway I'm enjoying you and Bob thank you both
We should meet up sometime!
Gary your channel is about to explode now after this video, do me a favor fella don’t change the music.
Nice one Shane and thankyou for your support!
@@classic.obsession Thankyou for videos Gary, the amount of pleasure I get from them, I especially loved the video were aldo was on it and you guys chatted about football and his time with the Ireland 🇮🇪 squad, they were great times. Anyway best of luck in the future, and hello from Dublin Ireland.🙏
I like Videobob, he cracks me up.
Brilliant video , got to be your best yet in every variation . Keep up YOUR good work ,as we all realise so much work goes into your videos Gary 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Much appreciated
Super Sweet!!! Badass rides.
Interesting video with diverse content ,remember seeing the brand new Rollers being pdi’d at Watsons RR In Renshaw street Liverpool mid 70s with the lads checking the handbrake hold on Oldham Street up the hill from Renshaw street to Roscoe street on the polished small set cobbles
Lol at 16:57 😅... Bob's reaction to that was priceless.
With your trips to the USA, Gary, I often wondered when you guys would get to meet. Good stuff
Great stuff.... I follow both of you so, this was a great surprise, fantastic bananas
Thanks for watching!
This was fantastic! The banter and humor was excellent and it was an honest look at dealing with an old classic.
wow, great episode, lovely to see another car enthusiast!
Love this channel. Really developing into something good
Glad you enjoy it! Much appreciated..
I got the impression he wasn’t full paying attention to what you were saying, and talked over you. Leave him to it.
This black Rolls Royce is a massive project. Make sure the owner will be able to pay you for all examination on the various issues and the time to get the car back on the road again. At least you will be in a great area. 😊😊😊😊
Video Bob sent me !
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but I'm so glad this one didn't. Saving the world one Rolls Royce's one at a time.
Great video Gary, why not invite Bod over to Liverpool and bring him to Chung ku cars and coffee. 😀👍🏻
Great show
guy is blessed to have that workshop
Great episode. Bob seems like a nice chap. Good luck with his Rolls Resto.
I would say you were champing at the bit there! In a few hours I reckon you would make some serious inroads on it!
It’s screaming out for someone to put it right!….or cut corners and make a mess of it. Depending on how you see it Luke!! Regards.
Old Rolls + White T-shirt = good day at the office...
Those transmission bolts, ever think of using Thread Sealer? Not locker, but a sealer.
now if the weather holds out i'll get filthy myself with spring car detailing, Brembo Brake Dust here I come!
Once again, Thanks for tuning in buddy!
There is a fella here in Melbourne who has Elton Johns Bentley Corniche. He has restorded it to fabulous condition.
very interesting, and humble, guy 😎
That was so good...on paper the pair of you should clash...you are the perfectionist....
Really excellent upload thank you 👍
Pool of blood …I love it….Jesus Christ…
THIS IS VEGAS alright! Little is as it seems.
Great video mate 👍
You guys would make a great TV show. So much fun to watch. Keep posting Bob and Gary.
Interesting to hear what Bob said about the pop up lights on the Knight Rider car oftern don't work on Pontiacs. I own a Lotus Elan M100, and GM owned Lotus at the time. The same headlight motor lifters are fitted to the M100 as the Pontiac. The nylon gears in the lifters breakdown and turn to dust over time. Repair kits are available from SJ Sports cars. Great episode!
Would be interesting to see you fix it. Must be hard not to offer an opinion when Bob was takin g about the changes.
I had an eclectic friend that bought the same Cadillac hearse President Kennedy was carried in. I swear that thing was cursed! He always brought it to me to fix, and if it could go wrong it did!
Enjoyed that Gary ! Something a bit different and unexpected !! Very funny and humerous in parts and the "We ..?" and "Beans and Toast " line (I saw you troughing at his gaffe on his video...) that made me chuckle....! Lots of work to do on his motor but at least the hood and the back seat are there egh ? Keep up the great work and look forward to next episode - Cheers stew
Ha, once again, thanks for watching Stew.
@@classic.obsession - Its a pleasure Mate 👍
Enjoyed the video, I’ve been watching both of your channels for years. Always great content. It was awesome to see y’all together, two different backgrounds but a love for cars. Y’all were hilarious together though!
A great video Gary ❤
Thank you kindly
Be careful you'll get roped into fixing it.
Walk away Gary
Come on Gary, move in with bob for a month. It would increase your ratings no end. I think it would be really, really, good, it would be a blast!! Viva Las vegas! It could lead somewhere!!
Yes but In a coupla weeks Vegas will be 130 in the shade !
Too much sun on your bald head😅 - no reaction from bob! Even funnier.
@@classic.obsessionunderstand completely. In Thailand we are having a heatwave with record temperatures everywhere, 45 most days and Terrible. My cats hate it.
GREAT video! Varied content, various cars and VideoBob's interesting story. Agree about the Shadow - it needs to go to a garage where they understand basic procedures and things like sticking needles etc in a carb. on a British car.
Another fabulous video. ❤
Thank you so much 🤗
Mark Goodson is the game show King along with Bill Toddman. That's who owned the car, Bob.
Hi Gary, really enjoyed this vid, shame you dont have time to help the guy out, think he desperately needs your help and expertise
Another awesome episode, thanks!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
your channels brilliant iv learnt so much thankyou
You are very welcome
You two seemed to have great banter! 🙂
Was good fun! Regards.
I think ultimately Bob would be happier with his Corniche if he does things the way you would have them done, no half measures etc. This car is well worth spending $20-30k. A Corniche convertible for $35-45k is not bad.
I would leave the car the original color, but very highly polished.
Bob needs to quit being cheap on this car. Fix it right or sell it. I've watched all of Bob's videos on this RR. He doesn't want to fix the top.He doesn't want to fix the A.C. And he wants to paint the beautiful wood black.. which bothers me the least. But it seems he doesn't want to spend the money. His biggest worry seems to be the exhaust.... Which is the cheap fix. Get it done, Bob!!
@@DontDrinkTheFlavorAid I never lived in a trailer park.
🤘😎🤘
Get him to do you a gold / bronze Rockford Files Pontiac Firebird replica in exchange for a load of spannering !
Always great hearing the theme tune when Tranmere Rovers run out onto the pitch….. 😊
James Garner! Leg end!!
@@classic.obsession Bet that music is a bit special for your mate Aldo too… Prenton Park leg end himself.
You could make a mint over in the USA Gary!!!!
I hope you warned him to stay well away from you the day after you ate that beans on toast! 😀
Good job Gary! You’re a patient man with O’l Bob. Chlorox will remedy your shirt hand stains.😅
Thanks mate!
Are you taking this on Gary?
I wish I could make time !!
Mark Goodson and Bill Todman were big-time 70s TV show producers. Think Price Is Right and lots of other game shows.
Wow that's great!!!
I need to look that up!
@@RobertMoseley You own Mark Goodson's Corniche. That's pretty cool.
that's def the "Mark Goodson" who owned it, the address the car was registered to (Seagram Building) was the studio where Goodson was employed! As soon as he read the name I knew it was that "Mark Goodson"!!!
Wonderful episode again Gary. The correct non metallic red is Signal Red or New Vermillion if I remember correctly
I think it’s very similar to the guards ref I have on the 928. When I have it alongside my red corniche they look like they’re out of the same tin. Regards.
@@classic.obsessioncommonly “Tudor Red” on Rolls-Royce
@@classic.obsession You are right Gary, they look very similar, I reckon they shared the same shade just put different names on it. It really suits the corniche. There is an episode of Lovejoy where a conman tries to trick antiques dealers to take a share in a mall like building filled with independent dealers which featured a beautiful red Corniche.. Lovejoy - S01E07 - The Real Thing
I remember an episode of minder where Arthur nearly buys one from a showroom. Willow hold and on startup its brake pumps were knocking like crazy. Great to see old cars on celluloid back when they were new!
I knew you'd cringe at that garage Bob had his car in ...dodgy bros inc. nice to see you helping him out.
Bob is the kind of guy dodgy garage owners dream off, a bit of money, lack of patience, low skills and a half decent motor that needs work. I hope you told him to get the white car away from the goons telling him petrol was water. I enjoyed the film and think Bob wanted your help, but was too proud to ask directly. When the Porsche is finally finished why not get involved in this one, you could do it standing on your head and do a very nice man a great favour in the process. By the way I am the guy I described up top, still cannot find a garage to define what's wrong with my R129 roof, but all want to charge me to educate themselves! Looks like I will be in the CLS at the Lygon in a few weeks! Oh well the weather is hardly convertible weather over here!
Have you tried the hood relay? I think there’s the same relay under one of your seats if I remember rightly, that you could swap over to test if it is as I think they’re quite pricey. Frustrating isn’t it? Regards
Gary with all due respect this fella will never do all that work to that roller that you have done to yours..
Your saying all good things which he should do but he ain’t gunna do it
Run mate ….
I can only give my best advice and hope it’s taken!! Thanks for watching Dave..
Air con won't work when the hood/roof is down. One of RRs ideas to save fuel!
Well that’s interesting and a new one on me!! Regards.
@@classic.obsessionyes…. A micro switch located on the right rear fold-down cubby. Deleted later because why not have AC with the roof down. We regularly disable the switch for our customers.
Red braces and yellow trainers. You must be in yankland 😂😂😂
😂
@RobertMoseley The Rolls belonged to Mark Leo Goodson? As in the Game Show Producer Mark Goodson / Bill Todman Productions?
Interesting!
Gary is a half of glass of Brandy is Half Full Guy and Bob is a little Overwhemed on this Project Do the Restoration Bob it’s a Rolls Royce you knew from the start it would be a Money Pit , it’s part Labor Of Love and the rest is just Money i say Paint it the color you want it’s your Dream Live It you got a good deal on it
I think Bob is not a patient man, fixing the Rolls will be a bit of a test for him😂
I suppose we’re all a little on the spectrum aren’t we? Regards
Fella's Wuz Elton John a western actor?
Singer! Regards
He’s not listening to you
He should!!
What?
Bob’s listening.
Nice guy horrible taste (with the exception of the Blues Brothers stuff) if you're going to paint the Corniche' Red you must do a white interior especially in Vegas! or all red interior with cream piping and inserts..
8:29 Gary puked a lil in his mouth there! 🤮
But not that one using his sugar walls for Jerry curls. Lewis kids Huh?...Huh?
Bob banned me from commenting on his channel for telling him he wasn’t Scottish.
Haaaa!!
