Thanks for showing how to use this awesome tool! It's a huge time saver!!!
We called this piece of crap…the torch,no one in our company liked it
Thank you for sharing! The community thanks you for these small tips that might seem like a daily routine to some but for most a hair pulling frustration!
Leo you Remind me of my Irish boss Jerry from New York taught me to hand tape 20 yrs ago very meticulous guy worked very clean also.Up and close with the bazooka is the way to go. Nice work.
The reason that cracked with the mesh tape is somebody.Didn't know what they were doing. And they use joint compound instead of Durham bond.Anytime you use mesh tape you need to use durable on
Why don’t you use no coat instead of corner beads?
You got skills. Thx for the video
Now how about if youre doing a painted, textured wall? Like swirl, knock down, or skip trowel.
This guy is good
here's a good tip , rather than all that adjustment of the valve , just remember what ones where hollow and wait till it runs out and then run it over the hollow tapes , i found this to be way quicker , i love my mudshot ,after 25 years on a angle box , i dread the thought of going back
Cleaning the back of the blade offten gets rid of the triangle when you start. Also running down the joint twice creates a fuller seem for first coat(less bubbles)
I wish we could take our time doing it right doing commercial you have to run through it for production 🤦♂️
Well, I've been DIY'ing my new edition and doing a subpar job of finishing the drywall and I kept telling myself, "that's hard sanding". Dang it.
New guidelines make sure all butt boards are V out
Someone fan the mud, camera man 😂
Butt boards are the bomb , I refuse to sand between coats
You are a beast ,the drywall hanging is mighty clean and that is a game changer ,your forchanet to have good hangers ..
Great simple solution to the bubble problem. Thanks Leo!
Thanks Leo. I'm going to try this on my next patch at work!!!
Do you think it’s necessary to prime any brown spots from peeled drywall
Really enjoy these videos
Some of the best drywall videos . Thank you sir .
Great work! Thanks for the explanations!
Are you using a flat or concaved blade? If concaved, do you apply it with the corners of the knife pointing towards the drywall and feather with the corners facing away from the drywall to prevent leaving cut lines?
Dumb question but how do you sand/mud/finish the very edge of the corner bead so that it's most durable? Do you leave a hard 90 degree angle or round it over a bit? Do uou leave any mud over the bead at the edge or sand down to the composite?
I just wanna say some smooth knife work right there
Anyone who said you we're slow doesn't know shit lol your job is well done and you're clearly not wasting any second.
Cleannnn job
You're pulling way too hard on that knife you pulling back out all the compound mud from under the tape that suppose to help hold the drywall joints together
The trick is to wait for about 10 minutes before wiping flat. The mud has stopped out gassing and there will be no more bubbles.
Great video thank you
thank you sir
You’re welcome
Who taught you?
I’ve been doing this since I was 19 years old. I learned mostly by watching and seeing people make mistakes. I improved on those mistakes. It was a combination of many finishers I’ve seen. Specifically two people that sanded behind me for more than three years. All I had to do was finish board. They would come in and sand light out the house and then bring the Finisher back in to see the problems.
Most excellent video
Wow master! What city do you live in? From italy 👋
I’m just outside of a city called Scranton, Pennsylvania
Thank you please keep these videos coming… you have the most informative videos out there
Thank you, I hope people can learn from them. I see a lot of work that is subpar.
Hey Leo, please post new videos.
I should be able to post something here in the coming weeks. I had to play a lot of catch-up as my business went through a big transition.
Thank you for an amazing video once again. Keep em coming
You’re welcome! I’m glad these are benefitting you.
Please keep the videos coming. I’m a painting contractor that drywalls on the side, you have my favorite informative drywall videos on all of youtube
Very informative thank you
Painting contractor here that out of necessity and curiosity had picked up a lot of drywall skills over the years… just wanted to genuinely thank you for taking the time to create these videos. Loving it, you take the time to properly demonstrate and explain I am so very appreciative
You’re very welcome. I wish I could make more what time is not always on my side.
Thanks for the video maestro
You’re welcome.
I just bought this tool and it’s a huge improvement vs the mud tube with inside applicator/flushers I was using before. I am using tape tech heads and I’m annoyed how loose my angleheads are on my mudshots ball point. I can spin that thing around fast in a circle like a fidget spinner and it’s always flopping around causing a mess as islets much harder to maneuver on the wall. I notice your head doesn’t flap loosely like mine and is just the right amount of tension like my old flusher/pole combo. What angle heads are you using I think I may need a different angle head. Should of got the dewalt ones 😂 I just figured the tapetech ones would work well because I love there boxes
Sorry for late reply. I use northstar angle heads. I am not sore how old your angle heads are, but it seems they may have been used a lot and are just over worn. New heads will still spin but not as fast as a fidget spinner.
I do all prefill to butt joints and corner gaps along with damaged board with sheetrock prior to taping as it is required to get a high quality finish and 2 other things you failed to mention 1 being that where you end at adjacent wall/ cieling flats if you touch filler valve to drywall and do cut length is perfect every time no quess work involved and 2 being that the screen on bottom of pump can get plugged by chunks of debris either dry mud or semi dry mud and restrict mud when pumped into bazoka and cause air bubbles , all butts that are not prefilled will show a line in the long run btw , my 41 yrs exp knows these facts to be true
Very good. But I was just doing the basics. It takes years to learn what you know. People can use the videos to get started. Along the way they will learn to be masters. Good comment Jeff!
The man with the hand👍
Thanks!
You’re welcome
Is it a personal preference of yours to buy buckets instead of boxes of lite blue?
We don’t get boxes in my area often.
Good to see ya back Leo!
@@LukePitney1991 thanks. I have to much work and don’t have enough finishers that are quality. So I have to do a house or 2 now and again. If you know anyone good looking for work. A good one could make 2k a week easy.
@@manwithapan I’m with you, I’m hanging and finishing 150 sheet on my contracted projects solo because I can’t find any help. If things really get slow here, I’ll hit you up this winter!
I really enjoy your hand fishing videos...keep up the good work no matter how you do it.....
Do you guys glue all your boards? I’ve been thinking about going to that to save time on spotting screws.
Yes we glue everything.
How are the angles already glazed that much before the mudshot ? I'm more interested in how you get them to look like they're almost finished before using the mudshot ?
I use the northstar bazooka, roller and 2.5” glazer. The trick is to lightly roll out angle to set the tape, then push pretty hard to make sure most of the mud comes out from behind tape. When you glaze, the glazer should glide across the angle and fill bevels as well coat the tape.
@manwithapan I kind of get it, lol. The part where " The glazer should coat the tape " is the part I would love to see a video of. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I'm learning a lot from you. You and maybe two other channels only ones that go into details and specifics that others don't cover at all. Keep it up. I hope you reach a high number of subscribers. Your channel definitely deserves more attention. Keep up the videos, though
Also, I forgot to ask, is it possible to achieve that with a Banjo ?
@@mehmedasotic584 yes, but you need a glazer and roller.
@@mehmedasotic584 I made a video of it. Hopefully it helped you out.
Great video. I have all walls open in another tab.. ordering tapetech stuff and deciding exactly what to get. I’m sick of hand taping entire houses. Lol
Tapetech are good. They have less crown in them then others. But you can always bend the blade housing a bit to make the crown.
@@manwithapan did my first job with them last week. Mad at myself for waiting so long to get auto tools! 😂
@@CLamb385 they save a lot of time.
