Ever use fiba fuse as a “net” in the bigger holes? I feel it gives it some backing so mud doesn’t just fall back. I usually use 5minute and fiba-fuse for larger blow outs. can’t say I’ve used the brown bag.
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. My work actually improved because of your videos. Your work ethic seems very to the point, and though it can be tough to work with at times, I do appreciate that you can actually back your years of work.

I only use the brown bag for prefilling or packing. If I happen to come across something it doesn’t want to stay in then I will put fibafuse on it. Most of the time this product does excellent, it shrinks as well.

I prefer the proform to the usg myself. I feel like it's more consistent

It seems to be smoother in my opinion. Yes it does have great consistency. Thank for the comment and thanks for following!

Would the quick set and fibafuse provide the most resistant joint to cracking over paper and all purpose, or did you choose it because of the time constraints? I think I'm dealing with recurrent cracks on a project I have and I want the strongest possible joint.

Fiba fuse is the best for fixing crack. But cutting them out to raw Sheetrock and packing them with durabond brown Bag is what really helps. Then fibafuse them. Also make sure the boards are not loose. If there is movement, cracks won’t stop. Most of the time cracks occur because the edge of the bevel was crushed when taking it off boom truck or dropped on floor when stocked.

@@manwithapan Thanks for the tips. These cracks are down the entire seams in the ceilings. I'm thinking possibly it's from flex in the attic floor or seasonal expansion. I hesitate to use quickset for the taping part because it would really suck to have to dig that out if the joint fails again. I think I'll try to figure out the source of the problem before getting any further into it.

@@jerseyjim9092 Use Brown Bag durabond! It will not fail. Make sure board is tight and you V out the flat 1/4 of an inch on each side. Pack it in, let it set and tape it with USG green lid. Then finish it.
