I got lucky 20 some years ago while doing a patch. I ran mud on it and it all bubbles up. I got so pissed from fighting it, I wiped it all of and did it again and the bubbles didn’t return. Been doing it that way ever since.
Any way to do something similar if you were boxing? For instance, does boxing one way then turning around and boxing the other way give a similar result with reduced bubbles on a painted surface or do you need skim it tight by hand before boxing?
If you run it with a box. Take it right back off then run box again. I only hand finish over painted surfaces. I don’t find it worth the time to bring out the boxes. Concept is getting moisture on it for a min. Then it won’t have the bubbles.
Can’t thank you enough for this tip!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
What about on a painted wall?
This has gave me trouble for years, thanks now I know how to conquer it.

@@manwithapan Understood. Appreciate your insight. Keep the videos coming, I look forward to them.
Do we need to take the mud right after applying it or do we need to wait a bit
I usually wait for 20 to 30 seconds.
Guy's bad ass installer.
Can we turn the camera horizontal in the next video? Besides that, love the videos, short and to the point.
I will give it a shot. I shoot these videos from a cell phone.
Thanks again great advice.
You’re welcome
This is the way.
