    Another killer job bud,I know from hanging them kind of angles isn't easy and finishing them can be a real nightmare but you make it look easy, like I've said before I got 30 plus years of hanging and do some finishing now but still in the learning stages of that but I have picked up some pointers from your videos your a hell of a finisher,my biggest trouble is getting the mud mixed just right usually get my taping mud good but my bedding mud and skimming mud I have trouble with but still learning again man great job. Ole Ga boy

    What cut up room! That room is a nightmare for a finisher. All those off angles and tons of natural light. Your making it look easy.

      If you caught the end, the house had 400+ ft of no coat in it, with just over 200 ft of it in that room. There was 112 sticks of bead 8,9and 10’ beads were used. Thanks for the compliment.

      What I have found in my career is if the tape, beads and no coat are applied correctly the finish is a lot easier.

      How do you not get overwhelmed on a job that size, working by yourself? Everything smooth finish or texture?

    • @manwithapan
      @manwithapan  Рік тому

      @@timschmitt7787 all smooth finish. I had my 13 year old spot screws. he did some hand taping under the basement stairs. As far as overwhelmed, I am used to big houses. Early in my career I started working custom homes for a company in VA. They put me in the biggest ones and well now they are just bigger. In my 20’s they averaged 220 sheets, I did them in a week. Now at 46 , they are 250 to 550 sheets and all cut up. Everything I finish is smooth ceiling. I did 3 other jobs in the midst of doing this one. 25 sheets ceiling, a kitchen and bathroom, and finished up a couple stairways from previous houses I finished.

      So 10 000 brd/ft in a week by your self ?? Thats amazing how much they pay per brd ft in PA here in Niagara falls Canada they pay .55cents per brd ft all day long some .60 cents

      @@manwithapan np man i finish drywall with a 12 inch knife and a 6 inch and a tube and flusher for angles and corner beads when i am not doing them by hand (which is the best way by far ) I see right away you know the game for sure good job man let's show UA-cam what real finishing is all about.There are so many misleading so called pros out there it drives me nuts! Keep up the good work my man there are only a few of us left that truly know what a proper finished job really is. They all brag about the tools but not many even know what there doing with them. I saw your finished corners and No Coats they were mint 👌🤝

      @@ProDrywallFinishing You are correct. Not many really understand the tools. As far as the videos go, I really don’t share them to often, I’m terrible at marketing this channel to make it grow. I haven’t posted a new video in a while as I have been swamped with work and am training some rookies which is taking up a ton of energy and time.

    Everybody has a process they do but every wall and joint are different. Sometimes you can two coat stuff but you have to see what the wall is telling you

      When you can read the walls like a fly fisherman reads the waters you are well on your way to perfection in drywall finishing. Great comment my friend.

    Did you ever do a job with one coat cornerbeads?

  • @DCtaping
    @DCtaping Рік тому

    I never use boxes to do corner beads it tears the paper and i would have to wait to long for my corners to be bone dry not worth it maybe if i used hot mud for first coat with 8 inch knife then 10 box it away from corner an inch or two with mud then coat the corner with a 6" to finish it off ?

  • @DCtaping
    @DCtaping Рік тому

    What about if your boxing it out are you going to scrape it with a Patty mix or you just going to use the sample any dust it off especially the ceiling it is still much faster I can understanding what the case you're doing where you're comfortably standing on a bench doing it all at the same time for example if I have revolted ceiling off a scaffold I'm just going to scrape it and coat everything I could reach while I'm up there correct what are your thoughts

    • @manwithapan
      @manwithapan  Рік тому

      Are you talking about boxing beads?

  • @DCtaping
    @DCtaping Рік тому

    Sorry my message was all over the place no i was asking you if you scrape your ceiling before boxing it with the 12" box or do you rough sand that ?

    • @manwithapan
      @manwithapan  Рік тому

      All I do is scrape the one lap mark in the flat. I only sand houses one time.

    • @DCtaping
      @DCtaping Рік тому

      You must wipe down after you run the box then ??

    • @manwithapan
      @manwithapan  Рік тому

      @@DCtaping yes I do wipe down behind the boxes. That way I can catch everything like wrapping boxes and drag marks off corners. I would weather keep it super clean than sand before running another coat.

    • @DCtaping
      @DCtaping Рік тому

      I want to buy a mud Runner or DeWalt mugshot I mean but I guess the skimming blades would be my next investment possibly just get it Columbia 16-in blade that I can connect to my box handles for now to wipe behind the boxes that's a good idea I'm sure you can use it for your butt joints a little bit too or something

    • @DCtaping
      @DCtaping Рік тому

      Another question do you run your angle box or mugshot and do all your angles then coat the three ways the next day or do you clean your three ways then post them again the next day what steps do you take for your final coat of angles or all in the same day wet on wet
