Hi hi! Today's video is a quick little criticism session lol I really feel the need to name & shame these interior design diy projects that I see all over the internet because they are so bad to me 1. faux window panes 2. faux marble epoxy 3. out of context wall paneling 4. faux painted wood grain And just to be clear (!!!) I'm not criticizing diy as a concept or affordable design solutions - I...
why i don’t like postmodern design

Hi again! This week's video is for design nerds 🤍 I felt like opening up a convo about postmodernism in architecture and interior design because I've been seeing sooo many things labeled as "postmodern" recently. I personally rlly dislike the ideology behind postmodernism so it makes me sad to see nicely designed things mislabeled as postmodern. This video is definitely very brief and there's a...

no sip?
Thanks for showing your simple yet delicate decorating process. Beautiful apartment!
I love your channel ❤ I learn so much from you! Where did you order the roman blinds from in cph?
Hi Noah, where is that floor lamp with the gold post from in the last photoshopped image? Would love to know the name if you have it please! Thank you
Duuuuuuude
I would recommend that you get a rug or mat under each of your work chairs so you won't scratch up your beautiful wood floors! Love the feel of your office!
Yey! What a great update - the vision is being realized!
I feel so guilty sometimes when I don't get a paint color right on my first try or I buy a piece of furniture I thought would be perfect and it just bugs me and I have to keep searching for something that will click or get it re-finished/re-upholstered and boom it suddenly becomes 3x more expensive and time consuming. But this series make me feel better bc you are an actual architect and you have so much knowledge yet these videos show how things take time and a lot of trial and error. So thank you for sharing your process! Otherwise I hate to say this but I'm afraid those plants are not getting enough light where they are. We need to talk about how plants never thrive in the spot we need them to be for decor purposes.
Interior design is my hobby for the last 20 years. And it’s harder and harder to make decisions about paint color, choosing art/decor/furniture etc. I think it is totally okay because when you have a lot of info inside your brain you just have enormous amount of options and you have to deal with them
Amazing video!! Your apartment is gorgeous and hearing you talk is such a treat. The office room looks unbelievable. I really think you’re an artist, immaculate taste.
I think the mirror should be on the other side of that corner of the room. I’ve been told it’s bad energy to have a mirror that is directly opposite a doorway. The shelving reaaaally came together in the dining room though, and the new chair in the living room is so nice.
Very early adapter of your videos here - love the way you do your videos, and that you're taking your time with your interior!!! And love the desk set-up & the ficus!! :) I keep wondering... Will you be changing something about your floors? I love natural wood but these floorboards really do look unfinished (because of the white/bleakened look, I think) and it makes your space look a lot less thought on than it really is. Maybe it's because of the way the camera shows things, but I reckon you probably have your own ideas and I'm very curious to know!
You made me laugh with your armchair saga :-) one day, you will exhibit all your armchairs collection and maybe lampshades creations? I have one question: in your dining room/office, are the wood and chests sealed with something? If not, the would is going to become a little dirty where your arms touch it while you are working on your computers, on the drawers too. I’m not saying that YOU are dirty, it’s just a happening fact, I experienced it myself. I would recommend a satin clear varnish or at least some wax to protect the wood. It doesn’t need to be everywhere, it’s actually better to keep a small area (behind or underneath) not sealed so the wood can breathe. Just a suggestion from someone who has worked with a lot of wood and a lot of paints, varnishes, waxes.
LOVE what you’re doing, Noah. Thank you for sharing.
Just got an offer accepted on a fixer upper with honey oak cabinets. Determined to make them look stellar🙏🏾
There’s something about your voice, cadence/way of speaking, and overall style that is so comforting to me. You’re my comfort creator for sure lol idk you make me feel cozy ❤
Keep making these videos - they are so beautiful and inspiring🎉
It’s amazing how each update adds more personality and comfort to the space. The new blinds, armchair, and styling ideas really bring everything together.
So beautiful Noah - I was obsessing over the striped pillows and was so glad you started to talk about them
just FYI on Muji, they use cotton from Xinjiang, which is known as a place where forced Uyghur labor (slavery) is used to pick it. When called on it, Muji not only refused to change their supply chain but actually promoted that their cotton was from western China, to help their market share in China. I don't think it's so morally objectionable to buy **non-cotton** items from there, like your file folders, but I personally have chosen a total boycott of Muji products because I just can't condone a company knowingly benefiting from slave labor. I'm sure I patronize companies that also use slave labor, but if I become aware of it I try to stop.
Where did you get the roman shades? I’m also in Copenhagen :)
The pillow on that chair is so perfect
I love this series because it shows such a realistic process of designing an apartment. Many interior videos just do it all at once. But you show that it takes time.
It's refreshing to see the gradual, thoughtful process of designing a space unfold over time. It really highlights the care and attention that goes into creating a home.
where are the blinds from ?
I had to stop midway to write this comment. I not only love the way you put things together but also LOVE the way you explain exactly why you are doing something. For example you explained why you would put the deeper shelf on top and not at the bottom. This just shows clarity and depth in your thinking, and explaination skills. Big fan. ❤
The way everything is explained makes the design process so much more accessible and understandable. It really shows the thoughtfulness behind each decision.
100% agree.
❤
LOVE how your flat is coming together! However, for the Picasso poster, although I agree it looks really nice, I'm sure we can find you an equally nice poster from an artist who respected women a bit more ;)
That new living room chair fits the space much better 👍🏻
Greetings from Sweden. I really appreciate this long format videos when you make room for explaining and elaborate your thought process behind your designs. The calm tone makes it very nice and relaxed.
Fun
Ok I’ve probably posted this question before, but how did you immigrate to Denmark?!? American here, currently trying to find a way out of this fucking country.
They aren’t the cutest but you should put the tree on a little plant pot with wheels (can be bought at silvan) it’s amazing for when you need to move it (to clean or shower it in the bathroom), also protects the floor.
That’s a practical idea! A plant pot with wheels would definitely make it easier to move and protect the floor.
I loved this video. I feel like we are actually getting to know you, which is so cool because it helps me understand why you design the way you do. Your style and personality are in harmony, which is a beautiful thing to see and rare in this world of content creation. Love the desk, the new chair. Also agree about stripes and plaid which I’ve always loved too, inexplicably… and now it makes sense. Thanks for sharing yourself and your home.
It's great to see how your design choices align with your personality, creating a space that feels both authentic and thoughtfully curated.
Noah noooooo, please don't paint the table. It feels like you're going against your belief in honest materials. How is it different to stick on tiles... However, I love everything else you're doing!
Paint is not dishonest unless it's trying to look like it's not paint.
@ fair play! It still feels wrong imo but you’ve made a valid point 👍🏻
The casual logic you use to make these decisions is so inspiring. The moment when you turned on the map in the corner and it was perfectly framed by the shelf? Art.
I agree about the plastic plants. I used to have some. I’m not a plant girly (yet) but I love fresh flowers so I go that route. Good ones last weeks. Doesn’t have to be expensive 🌹
I love following your updates while I decorate my rental apartment in Taipei too. You have such practical tips that I can apply quite easily. But if you ever get a suitable chance, could you share your thoughts on how to incorporate a tatami matted area into a more broadly modernist interior? That's the core of my current design, but I can't quite finish it...
I finally got one of those Joe Colombo cups in clear glass (I work at a thrift store), I found a saucer some months earlier. 😁
16:15 the demon core incident
I was almost startled by the effect as you added pieces to the shelves. It was bare, then it suddenly became home. Mesmerizing. Made me think about the flat surfaces I have in my living space. Your thoughtful, practical but carefully considered placement on the shelves and elsewhere is very beautiful and organic. I think that's the word I'm seeing in your work, organic?
Love watching your decorating process. Thank you for sharing!
Ah, coffee break time with Noah, lovely. ☕️
Love that you kept the ficus plant. It softens the space with the round leaf shapes. For the cuttings, cutting off all of the leaves except the top 5 or so will help it focus its energy to grow roots. Its likely in the climate you are in being winter, the cuttings have too many leaves to be supporting without yet any new roots. Your space is amazing.
Your voice is dreamy ❤
Don‘t use untreated wood! They will get stains from plants for example, you need to oil them. i Made the Same mistake and my wood is kinda Ruined now 🥲
Yayyy
At first I was very surprised you put the narrower shelf first, but then you explained your reasoning and I was like ahhhh, haha. Also, I've never assembled furniture out of plywood (or even painted my furniture), so these last couple videos have opened my mind to the possibility!
It’s great when a design choice makes you pause and rethink things. The idea of working with plywood and painting furniture opens up so many possibilities.
Looks fab. Just be careful to protect the floor under the terracotta pot as it will be porous.
watching you go through your living room chair journey is actually such a good example of how to use shape, texture, color, and material to create a space. once you're satisfied with your set up, i'd love to see a deep-dive video of you reviewing how each of the chairs changed/impacted the space and what you did and didn't like for each of them, the stuff that contributed to your ultimate decision. all three are sooo different but don't feel out of place or random for what you've shared about your personal design identity. i think that's really fascinating and would love to hear your thoughts on it in more depth.
Hi Noah, I really liked the first round chair. Also, I love your ceiling lamps. Can you tell us about them. Where do you think I can get similars?
The edit where you put the plant in the "wrong" place and then immediately moved it made my brain light up.
