  • Hi sweet people! Today I'm exposing myself with how obsessive I can be over home listings lol but I think I'm not alone 🌟
First off - I'm so sad to say that we didn't get this apartment that we absolutely loved!! I was really really hoping we would win the application lottery but unfortunately we did not 🥲
I was so mentally there that I basically finished designing the entire interior in my head lol so I figured why not at the very least get some content out of it and share my whole thought process with you guys. If you're anything like me and get major crushes on apartments then maybe this will be a fun watch.
We're still touring tons and tons of apartments so hopefully the perfect one comes along!!
love you all sm thank you for all the support!

I think no one would object to more of these videos... But understand it takes a considerable amount of time to prepare (and heart for the motivation), but it was so informative. Finding the PSD collages immediately help me understand the vibe as opposed to just a mood board. Sometimes the moodboards can feel abstract and a bit unattainable.

Despite the fact that I often hold the same values as you when it comes to implementing rules that uphold the integrity of the space/design, I don't always have the words clearly defined in my head until I hear you say them. "Light soup", "color change should be defined by an architectural change", "texture change can be more impactful than stark contrast" and many more. I also learn a lot about what I like by watching your videos and there hasn't been a single one I walked away from that didn't inspire me. The way that you meshed all the window treatments together is so brilliant and something that might've taken me 100 years to get to on my own, but thanks to you, now its in my tool belt! Love your videos Noah!

I absolutely get huge crushes on homes! I would be mourning this one too. One of my favourite activities to do is look up apartment listings in my area (I will be looking later this year for real), get the floor plans, and then mock up space plans for them. Also, adore the photoshopped view of it, it's so great to be able to see your vision come to life. It may be too much for some people, but I think everyone watching your channel are the kinds of people who want to see that level of detail, vision and planning.

I got my apartment through a ballot system in Melbourne, Australia. The not for profit company only sell to owner/occupiers, not investors. The apartments are beautiful and I did this for the entire 2.5 years that I was waiting for it to be built. The idas changed a lot and is still changing since I've moved in but playing around with the floor plan and designing it in photoshop was the only thing I wanted to do for that 2.5 years! So rest assured, my friend, you are not alone!

Hey Noah, I feel very sorry you didn’t get the apartment. I can totally understand the feeling, especially with such an amazing place. Your ideas about creating a cohesive interior design are really inspiring and helpful. From using a grid and analyzing the floor plan to mixing different materials, your tips are truly impressive.
The only thing I personally wouldn’t do is place the room divider. It’s a beautiful element, but I think the large, dark sofa would already serve as a room divider. I wouldn’t mind having guests see the bathroom door or the space beyond; I’d embrace the airy, transparent look of the space. But hey, this is very subjective, and I can definitely see why you’d want to integrate that unique and pretty room divider.
I’d immediately feel at home if I entered your space. And yes, the (almost unaffordable) Vitsoe Storage system by Dieter Rams is my “guilty pleasure” as well.
Looking forward to your next episode, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you guys in finding an even better apartment.
    Best wishes 😊

You are sooo not alone! 1000% agree. I obsess over planning my imagined space like a little psycho every time I move, based on the listing photos and plan (if provided). Love the advice of using a grid, I have never done this and will definitely try next time. I do a similar thing and follow feng shui principles to consider the flow of energy between transitional elements (doorways, corridors, windows etc). It really helps to reduce an undercurrent of anxiety from feeling like you are exposed to traffic flow throughout the house. I love your videos and style of content creation ❤ So sorry you didn't get the apartment. Don't worry, another one will come, and with it, another design opportunity xo

Same neurotic person here 👋.... I even made a 3D model of the apartment with a custom-made wooden-frame glass partition for the bedroom, as it was a loft. I negotiated an investment from the landlord and discussed the construction with my father, who's a cabinetmaker.....Annnnnd we didn't get it, lol. If this can soothe your pain, you ARE NOT alone. P.S. I've worked as an architect before specializing in interiors, so I understand the mental illness here...btw, I really appreciate your content and your calm presence. Hi there Noah, first of all I am sorry you did not get your dream flat. I am moving in a new apartement next week and I am just figuring out what I've planned wrong so far :) But I am also happy that I do get some things right. About the sofa... I totally changed my mind about sofas and now opt for a bit longer legs, because cleaning can become awful with a heavy couch when you have to move it a lot to get to every place. I totally miss a closet in the space plan, I had none for the last years and I am so looking forward to have a separate room for "stuff" that otherwise clutters the office or bathroom

Damn I need to brush up on my manifestation skills, I really thought we had this one in the bag! This just means that there’s an even better apartment out there waiting for you, Noah. Just sit back and let the universe do what the universe does 😌✨🧿

Its so annoying to have lost out on such a perfect flat. Also, so funny that cafe-curtains are back in fashion. They are ideal for privacy and light at the same time 😅😅🇬🇧

In the UK we have a lot of radiators under the windows (that look like that living room window). Would you ever get curtains down to the floor in this instance, or a roman shade?

I think using the grid that informs the interior could be used to reverse engineer architectural elements, very powerful concept and I love the way you used it. Also, I was curious about your experience in Copenhagen. My partner and I recently took a trip from Madrid to visit and we stayed in norborro. I loved the city and, as an expat, I was wondering what brought you there and how the experience has been so far? Also, what neighborhood is “the best” in your opinion , as you said in the video? Love the content btw, really been enjoying all the videos from a like mind!

Hey Noah-) You are hilarious and a joy to watch! Sorry about the apartment loss-(. what’s the name of that neighborhood in Copenhagen? I haven’t been back in years and planning next year a much needed return to Denmark and Norway

Of course you need to plan the space that you’ll potentially live in! If you don’t get that particular apartment, you will be able to quickly apply the exercise in preferences much more easily in a new space. For example, the screen/ room divider is brilliantly inspired and will most likely be front of mind if you’re faced with a tricky problem involving doors in weird places for example. Or placing one in front of a window giving straight onto a public space.
I understand the pain in the tight European situation with housing- when I was in Italy, there was a hidden market allowing foreigners to get apartments much more easily than an Italian, who could potentially be there for life. Foreigners eventually leave. How I got THE most elegant, beautiful apartment on the Main Street behind the Milan cathedral!!!
Your place of residence is much more egalitarian…. more’s the pity. I’m all for any privilege that applies to me!
Plan your heart out, one day it will be for real.
    Cheers,
    Maryanne in Australia.

Sorry you didn't get the apartment --- in my area, there has been a lot of building of high-rise rentals, in intown Atlanta. I live in a high-rise and I like my apartment, but I'm getting restless and getting "crushes" on other possibilities. If I move, I have fantasies of possibly working with someone to design the space. That's why your channel is interesting to me.
