    Ahsoka is my favourite character ever. This came out when I was 12. The theory was she was dead at the end of this episode. Of course I didn't believe it but still, thought no more Ahsoka. It didn't make me sad enough, just a little empty. So I watched the last episode of season 5 again, which I refused to watch again since I was 8 because it emotionally broke me. Still an amazing season final!

    This is my new favorite reaction from you! There are so many moments in Star Wars that pack an emotional punch, and this finale is definitely one of them. I teared up watching along with you at the end. A brilliantly executed script complimenting the superb performances from the cast. Where to begin? I loved how you chastised Ezra throughout. His actions were incredibly reckless and went against everything Kanan had taught him. As you pointed out, Ezra is easily swayed and made for an ideal candidate as Maul’s apprentice. The Maul reveal! I could not wait to see your reaction to his reappearance. You did not disappoint. Unless I’ve blotted it out of my mind, I don’t think we ever do learn on-screen how Maul ended up at Malachor. At some point, he lost his criminal empire and went looking for a Sith super weapon. The Ahsoka/Vader reunion was nothing short of epic and heart wrenching. Vader arriving standing on top of a TIE-Fighter is such a dramatic Anakin Skywalker move. I did get a kick out of your reaction to the helicopter lightsabers. Quite a lot of fans want to see that happen in live action. I’m super excited for you to start on Season 3!

    1:52 Wasn't shown in the video edit for UA-cam, but Rex said "in my book, experience outranks everything" in this, a word for word reference to the very first time we see Ahsoka, which was in the actual movie The Clone Wars, when she was much more irrational and cocky, and Rex, after she thought she outranked him because she was a Jedi, said the same thing; "in my book, experience outranks everything". They really are close friends, remembering things that happened so many years ago. 🥲 2:14 "always a bit of truth in legends." Definitely a nod to the fans that love Star Wars stuff from Legends. 😆 2:54 man that circular cavern is deep and wide. I didn't think it was that big. It was first shown a few seconds ago in the video from an overhead shot. 3:20 I can't find it in the script. Was "je'daii" actually said/shown in this? There actually already was/is a Sith temple under the Jedi temple on Coruscant. Unfortunately Palpatine was right. People do have to study both aspects of the force. What he left out though was the most important thing: they cannot let it control them. They can know what it is, but not be controlled by it. I feel that's why the Jedi got destroyed: they were oblivious to how much darkness was growing. Only reason why the Phantom didn't fall through the ground was because it was farther from the obelisk-looking thing Ezra touched. The ground's stability seemed to be tied to it. Unfortunately, I actually think Maul's right. He hates the Sith, but he also hates the Jedi. Both took something from him. I only consider him a dark side user. 9:51 Chopper's victory sound. 😂 Sounds like something I'd hear in the real world. 22:53 I can't lie, that kind-of-a-roast comment by Maul was too good. 😂 I'm assuming the 7th sister just got decapitated. 29:40 actual chills hearing the Duel of the Fates theme again. 30:37 idk how I didn't notice that sounded like Ventress. Almost sounds like a mix between her and Mother Talzin. It actually isn't though. They just used the same voice actor for the voice. The character, allegedly said by Filoni, was an ancient powerful Sith lord, which I found out by searching up "was Ventress actually the voice in the Sith temple in Rebels" and going to a Reddit page talking about it. 32:45 I guess Vader has the high ground now. 😂 Talk about an epic entrance. "Then you will die braver than most", now that's what I call a cold line to remember forever. 34:08 The quote of the century right there, followed by one of the best fights with some of the best music. 35:25 Ahsoka doing spins probably like how Anakin taught her. Makes it even more sad, then a version of Vader's theme plays after. I actually think she's so in denial that Vader could possible be Anakin that she's convinced herself it's not him, and only later does she realize, and the music paired with the voice changing was heartbreaking. His voice sounded like a mix between Vader and Anakin then Anakin's full voice said "then you will die". 😭 That encounter with the sad music, Vader's helmet being slashed, Ahsoka finally having no doubt it's him, still gets me every time. 😭😭 A lot of symbolism too. Since the OT and Kenobi were already watched, there's no spoilers ahead: Obi-Wan couldn't get through to Anakin and neither could Ahsoka, symbolism being they both only took off part of his helmet, partially getting through to him, but only Luke was able to fully turn Vader back to Anakin, fully removing the helmet. I bet once Anakin turned into a force ghost he was overcome with guilt by how Kenobi and Ahsoka felt about him before and what he did. 😭 37:51 Rex and the rest of the Rebels probably thought Ahsoka was dead. It probably hurt Rex the most based on his facial expression. :( At least we see her and Vader walking away, with Ahsoka walking more into the temple and Vader walking away so we know she's alive. Hopefully Rex finds out soon. 🥲 Man this episode ended off on a cliffhanger. Ezra looking like he's falling to the dark's temptation, using the holocron.

    The Sith Holocron explains a lot about how the Sith survived through the centuries. If both Sith master and apprentice are killed, a Sith Holocron might be found by some young Dark side user and they might learn the basics from that.

    When I watched the Kenobi miniseries, I was saying "BOOOO!" at how they reused the whole "helmet split open" scene- but looking at it again, at least the side of the helmet that split open was opposite of the Rebels version.

    to clear some things up, Yoda sent them here likely to teach them what happens to jedi who give in to war, but he didn't expect maul to be there. Ahsoka died here canonically. at least that's what the creators said when this aired. Ezra has fallen completely by this episode, and Kanan has been hurt a lot. Maul has found a way off the planet and may have an apprentice. Vader believes his last connection to the past is killed by his hands

    Not sure if anyone's told you yet but the masked Inquisitor we see introduced in this finale is Eighth Brother. Although we don't get to fully see what he looks like, according to the wiki, he's a Terrelian Jango Jumper which is the same species as that bounty hunter lady that Ahsoka had to get her lightsaber back from in Clone Wars.

  • @BalletStrong-cl6cb
    @BalletStrong-cl6cb 6 годин тому

    What I love about this episode is right when you think the episode can't get crazier....it gets crazier. That new inquisitor is called the Eighth Brother. Shame he didn't last that long, he had a cool voice filter You were talking about how Ahsoka slashed Vader's mask like Kenobi. Well it's actually the opposite in release order because this episode came out 7 years before the Kenobi show. So technically, the Kenobi show stole from Rebels, not the other way around

    I don’t wanna get too into Ahsoka but what I will say is that it will be addressed in time. What I will say about the show itself is that from a certain point of view it’s rebels S5, rebels had plans for a fifth season before Disney cancelled it. The reason why Ahsoka was written like this for Rebels S2 was as an explanation to why we don’t see her in a new hope because bearing in mind the character was created for TCW, then George made the decision that’s Anakin’s padawan, you also have to take into consideration that she’s older than Luke and essentially more experienced, just digest that for a second. Kanan losing his sight is somewhat permanent at least for the foreseeable. Hopefully Ben you’ve found my comments insightful and haven’t been too spoiler related for you? Let’s just say I’m trying my best not to spoil or say too much because there are answers to your questions but I just don’t want to give them because you’ll find out in time and you did say no spoilers.

Do you honestly think that I did not doublecheck the comic books in regards to Lord Vader I found out he had his mass damage in the same way as what you see in here and Kenobi different but similar. In saying that you have proven yourself to not care about legend references when people want balanced. You have really disrespected and disappointed me, lover 👿.

    30:38 “The Presence” has the same voice actress as Ventress. Dave Filoni has said before that one day the identity will be revealed, but we’ve yet to get there. The most likely theory is that it’s Kreia/Darth Traya from the Old Republic. It’s possible we could get animated Canon content for The Old Republic era.

    The last scene (or maybe epilogue), with the music as Kanan and Ezra return to Chopper base, always gets me in the feels. Not as much as some things that are yet to come, but I remember watching this when it came out and unexpectedly being emotionally drawn in.

  • @EM-fl5od
    @EM-fl5od 9 годин тому

    2:37 Because the audience can google it lol, when Ahsoka said there’s always a little bit of truth in legends, it was a double meaning. It’s referring to Star Wars Legends, Malachor is from The Old Republic and has plenty of books and video games focused on the era in which a major event happens on Malachor, which happens to be the Mandalorian and Jedi war.

    Ben, I have been WAITING for you to get to these episodes! 2:00 - Remember, Rex was one of the "First Batch" of clones, so here, he's about 26 years old, now. But because of the growth acceleration, he looks double that age. Funny thing is, I wasn't that gray when I was 52. I'm a few months away from 58 and only now have gray coming in on top of my head. But a box of hair colour will fix that little problem. ;) 4:15 - No. The Sith, like the Jedi, have temples scattered around the galaxy. Yes, there is one below the Jedi temple on Coruscant, which the Jedi arrogantly build a Jedi temple on top of. Presumably to keep it "locked away and safe" from any potential Sith who may pop up. 6:38 - Very good, Ben! You caught that quicker than most! 8:20 - Maul actually isn't lying, here. He was betrayed by Sidious, who then took everything from him. Sidious murdered Maul's brother (remember from the Clone Wars?), apparently cost him his criminal syndicate (at a guess, since he's no longer in charge of it), so Maul came here but couldn't get in the temple alone. Also, just because one wields the Dark Side, doesn't make one a Sith. Maul still wields the Dark Side, but he is no longer Darth Maul, just Maul. 17:10 - Aren't you glad you do these episodes two at a time? LOL! 20:10 - Remember what Palpatine told Anakin in Revenge of the Sith: "The Jedi and the Sith are the same in almost every way." But also, "Good is a point of view", which IS true. Also, think back during this episode. The one Inquisitor said that they were hunting "a Shadow", and right at the end, when Ezra and Maul showed up, she said, "The Shadow!" They weren't expecting to find Ahsoka, Kanan and Ezra there, Maul is who they were hunting for. Also, the Jedi "assume" that Dark Side Force users always lie in order to manipulate someone. But that's not the case from everything we've seen. Palpatine told Anakin many truths, and so far, Maul hasn't lied to Ezra, either. That is part of what led to their downfall. Also, also, think back to what Obi-Wan told Luke in Return of the Jedi: "You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to, depend greatly on our own point of view." I'll even tie in something Qui-Gon told Anakin back in Episode I: "Your focus determines your reality." Put ALL of those things together... 26:20 - Remember, the Jedi Council didn't trust in Anakin, and he knew it. By showing trust in Ezra, Kanan is allowing him to learn on his own, but also showing Ezra that he is confident that Ezra will do the "right thing". 40:50 - There's a lot that is not going to be explained here. On this, I don't want to give spoilers. I know you're ahead on Patreon, I'm just not sure how far ahead, so I won't discuss anything other than what you've shown on UA-cam. I don't want to (even accidentally) spoil anything to come. I can't wait to see you start Season 3, now. But I knew these final 2 episodes were going to blow your mind.

    Lightsaber Flying: maybe this was just a recent upgrade that the Inquisitors got for their sabers and now, that the Inquisitors are defeated, it won't return in this way (at least the inquisitors we know from Rebels are defeated). I am not sure how long the Inquisitors operated, but because there are only a few special instances where they show up again, (but there, their role in the empire is not specified) I think that maybe the Empire canceled the Inquisitor program. The reason for introducing the Inquisitors was to defeat the remaining Jedi from Order 66 and now 15 years later, they probably got the majority of survivors. Of course, there are still some Jedi that are alive, but maybe those are not a good match for the Inquisitors, but rather something that the Sith need to deal with personally.

    Vader is slower than Anakin, yet his technique is still so good that he can fight much faster opponents like Ahsoka. One of Vader's own fighting tactics revolves around tiring out the opponent. Vader is incredibly strong, every blow he strikes his opponent with feels like a truck. It's a pretty good fighting tactic when facing opponents that rely on quick, light strikes, such as Ahsoka. Also, a thing I REALLY love about this finale is how despite what Ahsoka tells him, Anakin isn't able to break free from Vader. Nobody has been able to do so... Nobody else but Luke Skywalker. Nobody else but Anakin's son... The one person that is connected to Padmé... The ONE person that can bring light back to Anakin, and Ahsoka or Obi-Wan are NOT it. Though funny enough, in the comics, when Vader was in the process of bleeding his new kyber crystal that he took from the Jedi, Kirak Infil'a. The process was tough, SO tough in fact that the Kyber crystal briefly knocked Vader out. Where Vader had a dream where he returned back to Palpatine, showcasing a green lightsaber as a declaration of having returned back to the light, and then fight Palpatine and defeat him. But just as soon Vader woke back up, his anger manifested at this idea, and he poured in all the hate and anger he could muster, and bled the crystal. When Vader arrived back to Coruscant and presented his blade for Palpatine, it was red, as to signify his continued loyalty towards him, and Palpatine was pleased.

    So at the start of ep 21 ashoka's "always a bit of truth in legend" was pretty much a nod to the old EU and some things from it will coming into canon. the planet malicore was in legends called koriban which was the ancient home planet of the sith. the species not the religious order. later on when the jedi had a split with those who would become what we call jedi and the other faction which would be called sith the sith faction eventually found korriban and eventually claimed the planet as their own. in one of their many jedi vs sith wars the jedi eventually pushed the off planet after killing not just men but women and the children sith species along with the split faction. who owned it would often change durring their many jedi sith wars. the sith temple was an weapon when the jedi realized it came in an attempt to stop it from being used it was in the end activated and wiped all life on the planet pulling a Pompeii. the way to both get in and out of the temple from where ezra was needs both a master and an apprentice while the holocron can open some doors it doesn't open all of it so both master and apprentice would need a certain amount of trust which is almost completely antithetical to how sith work even before the rule of two as the rule of two was meant to control who would become the master and apprentice. before the rule of two it was more of a free for all where other masters would killing either someone elses master or apprentice or the apprentice would do the same affecting how much an apprentice would learn or a master could teach. By this point Qi'ra is in charge of mauls syndicate i believe for the most part when Solo came out people theorized Qi'ra was the one who got him stranded by sabotaging his ship trapping him on the malacore. All we know is that when landed he got frustrated because he was unable to get in the temple and his ship was wrecked trapping him there. At this point all maul wants is revenge against everyone who made is life a living hell. before he got stuck he was searching for old sith temple for help in his revenge against palpatine. palpatine who not only stole him form his mother but also killed his brother in front of him and had a part in killing his mother. he likely assumes kenobi died durring order 66 otherwise i see now reason why he wouldn't be after a way to kill him too. Ezra was pulled to the sign because it calls to him like how the grand inquisitor had said that ezra was being pulled to the dark side especially when all he wants to do is protect his family kind of like anakin was with padme, obi-wan, ashoka clones under him and his kids later on. Maul in this ep is pretty much just an dark side version of yoda in empire. hiding his identity acting more crazy then he actually is. trying to teach ezra lesions in the dark side like how yoda tried to teach luke patents before reveling himslef. Ep 22 considering what happened the last time the temple was used as a weapon its possible the maul was okay with it killing him as long as it got everyone who made him suffer also . but since maul found ezra he might have brought hope to him in a sad way that he may have something to live for. one thing to remember was that we didn't have season 7 of clone wars when this came out so when maul is calling ashoka out for running away he was talking about what happened in the ashoka novel which only certain parts of it remained when season 7 happened as otehr were changed or just didin't happen in season 7. but it still fits even with season 7 out now. 32:46 very anakin just to stand outside his ship while have a cape flowing against the wind the only thing that would have really put it anakin under the mask would be for the ship to be spinning since its a good trick or for him to just T-pose as he comes up. and once again anakin's actions come to bite him as vader. anakin pretty much taught her how to fight with people who were bigger then her likely after her fight with greavious in the clone wars which is really helpful since vader is much taller then her now. if you want to get symbolic about 36:56 they both slice one half of vaders mask but only luke was able to remove the mask completely. Obi-wan and ashoka removed parts of the mask in anger or fear while luke did it with love removing the whole thing. a thing to remember is that this happened first so when people saw it in kenobi with him removing one half people were already making the connection that anakins friends could only remove part of the mask but only his son could remove it completely. she still feels responsible for abandoning him so when she says she not leaving him this time she intends to if necessary die along side him with no interest in making it out if she kills vader. this must have been one hell of a day for a lot of them if you think about it ezra faced against maul half the man he was, 3 inquisitors and a proper sith vader, while kanan did all of that except vader and ashoka fought against all 5 while having to deal with the fact that her master was now a sith and probably some regret in not believing maul all those years ago. if this hurt anyone it probably hurt Rex the most since as far as he knows ashoka the closest thing he had to a sister who he just got back together with after almost 20 something years is dead. and she was one of the last links he had to anakin. considering ezra was crawling away to get the holocrun out of the temple its likely he couldn't or didn't hear vader and ashoka's conversation. so only palpatine obi-wan, yoda, maybe bail, and ashoka truly know who is under that mask as of now. there are some other some characters in the empire like tarkin who are implied in novels to know who is really under the mask. even a few jedi know like jocasto nu the librarian in attack of the clones knows but is killed after reveling it to some of the clones with vader after she is captured. he destroys the ship they are on after not just telling the clones vader is anakin but also warning him that the knowlage she has will be used by palpatine to find young force sensitives who will be used to challenge him for his spot under palpatine. there are some who he tells just to break their spirt like when he went get his new lightsaber crystal from a jedi before killing them. some people who work with him when he actually is trying to learn what happened to padme in the comics which led to him learning about luke's birth they manage to put 2 and 2 togther since those people were in charge of protecting not just padme's grave but legacy. they were people who worked as either her body gaurd or body double when she was queen and senator so they definitely knew anakin but for the most part were under the impression he died during order 66 at least until vader came to padme's grave.. but by this point the list on who knows it weather certain or guessing lucky are barely a handful. remember kanan's last words to hera was that he will see her again yeah . remember you don't have to be a sith to open a sith holocrun you only have to tap into the darkside of the force like with the jedi holocruns since while ashoka wasn't a jedi she was probably still using jedi holocruns to keep up with her training and probably found some on her adventure eventually probably hearing obi-wan's message about not returning to the temple after order 66.

    The Sith temple, though SOUNDS like Ventress, is NOT associated with Ventress at all. It's likely the voice belonged to an ancient Sith from Legends, it's theorized to belong to Darth Traya, which would make sense in a way... After all, according to Legends, back 3900-4000-ish years ago, her Sith academy was located on Malachor V in the same system. Hell, Malachor in Legends has some background information dating back to the Mandalorian Wars even. It was the last stronghold of the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, where Revan and the Republic forces defeated Mandalore the Ultimate, before Revan's general, the Jedi, Meetra Surik, activated a Republic superweapon on the planet, called the Mass Shadow Generator. It caused devastation like you couldn't believe across Malachor V. The amount of death this caused made Meetra Surik cut her connection to the force, meanwhile, on the surface, one of the survivors had gained an unintentional side-effect of the Mass Shadow Generator, giving them the ability to drain the life energy out of people and make themselves more powerful... This sith was discovered by Darth Traya, who brought him to the Trayous Academy on the planet. The survivor was given the name "Darth Nihilus" and together with Traya and another Sith named Darth Sion (who himself was practically unable to die), they formed the Sith Triumvirate. However Sion and Nihilus would try and destroy Traya, Traya escaped and became so fed up with the Jedi and the Sith, she began planning for a way to just outright destroy the force overall. Meanwhile, Sion took an army and went on to massacre the Jedi across the galaxy, much like Order 66. And Nihilus was draining entire planets for life to fuel his never ending hunger that constantly made him stronger. Nihilus lost his humanity, becoming a slave to his own dark side powers, Sion almost caused the Jedi's extinction and Traya joined Meetra Surik. Eventually Meetra Surik, with help from the Mandalorian, Canderous Ordo and Nihilus' own apprentice, Visas Marr, would together be able to defeat Nihilus. Then they confronted Sion, and convinced him to let go of the dark side which was pretty much the only way to kill the guy... And then they also stopped Traya before she could continue on her afront to God attempt at destroying the force, which... She probably would never have succeeded at anyways. But yeah, Malachor, or specifically Malachor V, has some rich stories in Legends, happening thousands of years in the past. And as Ahsoka stated in these episodes: "There is always a bit of truth in Legends." Ha ha.

    Portable Highground😂 But I like your idea that maybe it’s only possible on this planet. We should all as a collective agree that that is now canon. Because everyone already agrees, that as great as this episode was, lasers should not work that way and it’s just stupid.

    Thank you Ben for the reaction and analysis, it is nice to see that you are suitably prepared. (Sorry for the wall of text, I clearly have many thoughts about this episode.) 17:07 Why not, it is the best point of impact, I hope you like the appearance of our "Special Guest Star" 17:50 Yup, it is all worse, but this is still just part one, what fun !!! <evil cackle> 23:48 Yup even Chopper knows so it is really bad, consider how things might have turned out if they have decided to leave. 33:00 the smart@$$ quip from Ezra you skipped may sound familiar because you heard it before here ua-cam.com/video/yYjIPd3lkEs/v-deo.htmlsi=dPyMRHqGG0b21P6S&t=854 @ 14:14 35:41 You Sir, are truly the King of Foreshadowing 39:20 about him opening the Holocron, explanation here 16:18 39:40 In the original showing (before the ashoka series was announced ) nobody knew for sure, that bit was darker and it wasn't as clear cut for us back then 39:50 in release order, this came before Kenobi, and yes, this is a brilliant observation and move by Star Wars, Ashoka removed half the mask, and Kenobi removed the other side but only Luke removed it completely. 50:30 very good question, so what was Yoda's lesson for Ezra ? I think it is about choosing when and how to deal with situations that arise and not rushing into everything looking for a quick and easy answer. See Kanan's statement in S2 Ep2 ua-cam.com/video/SMRq6fRcF2U/v-deo.htmlsi=pAmMFSh4zYF6EgYc&t=2083 @34:44 and Yoda's question here in S2 EP18 ua-cam.com/video/OwNWWa7AM38/v-deo.htmlsi=ofDT1737klBScBh9&t=2179 @36:20 Thank you again for all your thoughts, and we'll see you in Season 3

    Technically Maul isn't a Sith anymore but he is still a Dark Side Force user. He may have never been a Sith in the first place because when he was defeated by Obi-Wan in Phantom Menace Plagueis was still alive, meaning there was already two Sith alive. With the helicopter Inquisitor lightsabers there was an explanation given; it's not that the blades themselves that causes them to fly, the hilt has a bunch of small repulsers that let it fly.

    Let’s start with Yoda's lesson and what he intended to convey: Ezra was supposed to learn that the path of destruction always leads to self-destruction. Did it work? Ezra largely ignored the aftermath of the battle-a battlefield strewn with the dead, where Jedi and Sith alike perished en masse. However, when he reached the holocron, he rejected its knowledge. "Maul tricked us" - Ezra Ezra despite numerous temptations didn’t want to follow that path, so Yoda’s lesson succeeded. The problem, though, was that even though Ezra rejected the path of destruction, it was forced upon him by the circumstances-especially by Vader. Vader became the brutal wake-up for Ezra. He didn’t defeat his fear; he merely ignored it, believing that defeating the Grand Inquisitor made him invincible. Imagine the shock: - Ahsoka presumed dead. - Kanan blinded. Driven by fear, Ezra immediately decides to open the Sith holocron. Consumed by terror, he’s ready to embrace destruction if it promises safety. (All you had to do was use the dark side to open it. You don't have to accept Maul or the rule of two) He abandons Yoda’s lesson and reverts to his old philosophy, which rapidly radicalizes, leading to precisely what Yoda warned against: Destruction always leads to self-destruction. As for Maul, he had abandoned Qi'ra and Crimson Dawn. He believed she was a useful tool but ultimately insufficient. (He underestimated her because if he was with Qira, Palpatine and Vader would have died, but he was impatient and changed his plan.) That’s why Maul sought Sith holocrons, especially the one within the temple. Notably, Maul encountered the Qui-Gon Force ghost there. Qui-Gon tried to persuade him to abandon the destructive path he had chosen. Maul rejected him and even attempted to attack the ghost, misunderstanding what a Force ghost truly was. (Once again, Yoda’s logic comes into play: Maul walks the path of destruction and, in doing so, destroys himself.) Maul’s revenge quest was hindered when he was detected by an Inquisitor, preventing him from acting directly on his plans. The Inquisitor, not knowing who he was dealing with, referred to him as "The Shadow." Additionally, Maul needed someone strong enough to access the holocron and claim it. (Maul couldn’t afford to be recognized by the Inquisitor. One mistake, and Vader would have shown up.) It’s obvious that Maul wanted Ezra as an apprentice. Let’s do an alternate scenario: Instead of focusing entirely on Ezra, Maul stays close to Kanan and ensures his elimination-perhaps even allowing the Inquisitors to kill him. Then, Ahsoka faces Vader. Who does Ezra have left with? This could have been the absolute end and Maul's total victory if he had played the cards he literally got for free correctly. But the issue was that Maul wanted everything, and as a result, he achieved nothing. Once again, this ties back to the Grand Inquisitor’s words to Kanan: "Try to fight, and you will fail. The rebellion will be destroyed, you will die, your apprentice will become a servant of evil." Fighting means losing control of his fate. As a result, he lost his sight. 10:05 Regarding the Sith Temple itself, it seems to date back to the post-Revan era. When Revan was a Sith, he reformed the Sith Academy on Korriban, introducing a change that would inspire Darth Bane's Rule of Two. Revan’s reforms dictated that a master could only have one apprentice. At the time, there were thousands of Sith, and the reform aimed to focus a master’s attention solely on their apprentice. (Not an army of weaklings.) This ensured the master’s full effort would go into training one powerful individual. The temple’s creator, Darth Tanis, is known only by name. What we do see are the devastating effects of the weapon she built-visible in the remains of Jedi and Sith outside the temple. Are there any connections to Ventress? No, but maybe the Nightsisters somehow... We don't know much about these events. And how would it work? Plus this weapon looks a bit like a mini Star Forge, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had a similar use. (I'm only talking about the place where Ezra places the holocron, not the entire temple) It could work for destruction and killing, but also potentially creation by materializing things through the dark side. In the first duel between the Seventh Sister and Ahsoka I said that they were similar because neither showed fear. But this is where their philosophies diverge. To summarize, let’s invoke Valkorion’s logic. (The most powerful Sith to ever live.) Valkorion saw both Sith and Jedi as fools regarding death: - Sith claim they fear nothing and act as such-but fear overtakes them when it’s too late. This is the Seventh Sister at the moment of her death. - Jedi do nothing to avoid death and accept it. Ahsoka accepted death without feeling fear of Vader. Valkorion concluded that the fear of death must be a motivator, not something to ignore or fight against. Fear should be one’s strength and ally. This philosophy drove him to become the most powerful Sith in history, as his fear of death motivated him to absorb the power of 8,000 Sith through a dark ritual, achieving immortality. (And honestly, I personally consider him to be the first Sithari - the chosen one of the dark side, because of his strength and what he achieved) This is the official end of the Inquisition. The Inquisitors lost their strongest, and Vader had no intention of training replacements or gambling on their adequacy. It’s likely Vader personally executed some of the remaining Inquisitors, while the rest were sent on suicidal missions, ensuring they wouldn’t return alive. In the duel between Ahsoka and Vader, you rightly observed that Vader used both hands. He wasn’t toying with her. He was fully aware of Ahsoka’s abilities and also knew he might be on a limited timeline, as he wanted to secure the holocron for himself. Vader’s strikes were meant to break Ahsoka’s blocks. Every heavy blow was not just difficult to defend against but physically exhausting and painful. At a one point, it becomes clear from Ahsoka’s movements that she’s losing. However, when Vader had the chance to end the duel, he pushed her away. That says everything-he didn’t want to kill her. Later, when Ahsoka breaks Vader’s helmet, he doesn’t immediately attack her. Anakin is still in there, still fighting. If Vader had truly buried Anakin, as he claimed before the duel, Ahsoka would be dead, and he would probably get the holocron.

    At this point, Maul's become the opposite of Ventress. Both abandoned by their masters, overcame death and sought destructive revenge which cost them family. Only in the end, Ventress redeemed herself and moved on to a normal life. While Maul continues his downward spiral of revenge and loneliness.

    While Ahsoka's words were unable to bring Anakin back to the light, it instead had an different effect. Anakin dropped his Vader persona and faced Ahsoka as just Dark Anakin. It was personal, so Anakin would face her personally rather than as Vader. "Then you will die." was Anakin rebuking Ahsoka's words, that either she leaves or he will kill her.
