this is the beautiful thing about korra. you can see the villians point! you are conflicted because you want to side with the protaganist, but on the other hand, you see the point in the villians motivation. tarlok is an amazing character. a bad dude on the protaganists side! it helps us see the problems, unlike in atla, where it was very 1 sided. ozai bad. want to control the world. here, amon is bad but you can see why he is bad. in some way, you understand him.
fun fact: Hiroshi is played by the same guy as The General back in season 2 who tried to force Aang to march at the Avatar Day and also ozai in the Netflix remake - this is the only time in the franchise he plays a good guy. And Korra is so afraid to her bending removed due to her having defined herself being the Avatar for as long as she can remember and the only thing she understands about being the Avatar is the need to be able to bend all 4 elements - she doesn't understand any of the spiritual or political duties that come with the role and I get why she had such a hard time being able to admit to being scared when she opened up to Tenzin it is amazing - her voice actor really deserves more credit.
Love how much this episode went in to and built on everything, So cool how the actor for Hiroshi has gotten to do so much with this franchise and I love how this episode builds on how Korra's been trained, the White Lotus focused too much on Physical fighting and completely neglected everything else, this episode exposed how broken she truly is as she's never been able to experience the real world and the VA did absolutely amazing in that last scene!
So the council is the government of the republic. Each nation has one member (with the exception of the water nation bc they have one for the northern tribe and one for the southern tribe). The interesting thing is that they are all benders further proving ammons point
This is exactly what I was wondering about, none of them represents a resident of the City or a Non-Bender, honestly I'm not sure if Amon is even Evil after all this, everything we're seeing is kind of proving his point 😂 It's also so bad with the Air Nation with how that will become an inherited position making the powers super entrenched, no new ideas can come from it.
But at least there was some development. But still, this proven that your enemy is not to be underestimated and the only way to defeat one is by doing something unpredictable. Then again, the kid and their friends need more training because once his plan goes into overdrive things are going to get belly up be ready.
I love how this started her development; it put the audience in such a great position to see her fears and now all I want her to be more humble and stay confident that she can beat Amon.
I don’t see Tenzin and Korra’s relationship as Father daughter, maybe cousins or uncle and niece but not father daughter. My bias could also be due to my knowledge of following seasons. But Aang never saw Zuko as his grandson and Zuko never saw Aang as his grandfather. So automatically I assume the same but again those are my biases
That's a good point, I think I mainly see it this way since Aang and Zuko had a different relationship before they knew how they were actually related, Korra and Tenzin would have been aware of their connection the moment Korra was discovered. They definitely have a mentor-and-student relationship but I think their closer than that and with their age I think Parent-Child could work.
Korra was not built for this, Her trainers and while lotus should have prepared her better instead of locking her in a compound and sheltering her whole life, teaching bending, A teen impulsive Avatar is a problem when you push her into politics and current society suddenly when she's more of physical fighter country girl.
Exactly this! They focused way too much on her physical abilities but neglected how she's meant to function in society let alone the Avatar's high-ranking position in it. The White Lotus really went downhill after Iroh's lot.
"Nevermind, that's kinda a big give away" LOL

@@benspiller this is just the beginning korra We will not be as good character if not Janet Varney incredible talent
BEARD! 😂
😂😂
That got me too 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Fun fact Amon and zeb have the same voice actor (Steve Blum)
Oh I'm never going to be unable to hear this now 😂😂
I recognized him from the second season of Digimon. First time, that I recall, having heard Steve Blum's voice.
Korra's breakdown at the end always gets me😢
'So, I understand you're very poor'
The most straightforward roast ever
It's a bit worse 😂
"So, I understand you're dirt poor"
😂😂 It's shocking that this was the first thing the guy said to Mako 😂
So the council is the government of the republic. Each nation has one member (with the exception of the water nation bc they have one for the northern tribe and one for the southern tribe). The interesting thing is that they are all benders further proving ammons point
Also is weird that the air nation has a member bc its basically a reserved seat for a bender from a single family in the whole country

Beard got me 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
It's all I can see about grown-up Aang now! 😂😂
Gotta love Dee Bradley Baker (aka the Clone Troopers) voicing Tarrlok (as well as a few others including animals) in this series!
He voiced Tarlok too? I thought he just did the animals!
@@JM-vj2sx You can hear it most when he says the word ‘Republic’ I’d say. It’s a bit of a trip sometimes
This man is so good!! His range is phenomenal with how much he's been able to do, think he voiced Appa and Momo too!
The monument to all you(our?) sins. ua-cam.com/video/nyZpDKebN4M/v-deo.html
He did voice Appa and Momo! I knew he voiced the animals but I didn't realized he also had a human speaking part, or a prominent one, at that.
Tenzin is in his early 50s
Asamiiiii!!! I love her so much omg
Detail: Aangs face is on the money they use in Republic city
Never thought id see the day😂
dang I've rewatched LOK more than 5 times now and I can't believe I missed that 😅
Oh wow that's so cool!! Love this level of detail and now I hope they got the rest of the Avatar Gang's faces on the other bills 😂
💙

Korra needs mental and spiritual development more than any bending training.

Do we wonder the “soccer” earth bending style was also made into a sport?
The one that was shown in Irohs tale in basingse…
I would love this!! 😂😂 If Bending - Boxing became a full sport then Soccer must be going on somewhere!
