SPOILER WARNING!!! I am watching all Star Wars in Chronological order; I have seen the Original Trilogy but nothing else beyond the Kenobi so please be careful of spoilers in the comments.
Ditto, without question every Rebels episode introduces a character, thing or situation that features in a future episode, even if the payoff is far off. Think of how the stolen Tie Fighter from S01E04 "Fighter Flight" was crucial in the season 1 finale.
Don’t fandom ever look at the details before jumping into conclusions. It’s really shameful how because of mistakes how the Darkside blind us with blood👿
There are some filler episodes, mostly in season 1, but few others too, like that klandathu job or whatever it was called, with Hondo and Azmorrigan, and the whole crawler heist episode in season 4, same with Double Agent Droid, and Warhead.
This first episode showcases the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer. approximately 1129 meters in length (For reference, a normal Star Destroyer is 1600 meters in length.), and with the ability to pull ships out of hyperspace even. With a crew of ca. 2800. Accompanied by two Arquitens-class Command Cruisers, a slightly smaller variant of the ship seen used by the Republic in the clone wars. Being 230 meters in length and with a crew capacity of 750 each. But those you've already seen a bunch of. The thing Chopper here just did with those gravity well projectors, put his kill count in this show up by approximately ca 4300 people. Chopper is an absolute MENACE!
Ah, we finally got to the Interdictor! It is an amazing ship design. In the EU there were two versions of this, one was the Immobilizer Heavy Cruiser (which is the design they kept for this iteration of the Interdictor, and closer to a light cruiser than a Star Destroyer) and the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer (which is a full-size Star Destroeer with the Gravity-Well projectors embedded in its hull). Edit 1: the Empire has a similar issue to Imperial Japan during WWII, back then the Army and the Navy HATED eachother and often (and quite disastrously) fought for command; that hindered many operations. With he Empyre something too similar happens, the Navy is snobbish and often arrogant, the Army (guys in green) and Stormtrooper Corps often clashed, the ISB and COMPNOR (Commission for the Preservation of the New Order) had an all-out secret war for influence and often sabotaged the other's efforts, etc. And this was by design, of course, by none other than Palpatine himself. He knew that if he fed the infighting between dependencies they wouldn't work together to topple him. So he made sure to have them all compete for his favour constantly.
I love these two episodes so much! Episode 9 is so freaking funny, especially with Chopper tattling on Ezra! 🤣 And Episode 10, that scene of Ahsoka arriving and putting the Inquisitors in their place, ICONIC!
Both of these episodes were so good!! I've been waiting to see how Chopper became a war Criminal and this didn't disappoint 😂😂 and Ahsoka's scene was so phenomenal! It was so good to see her fighting again!
Stealth Strike is my favorite stand alone episode. I start getting the feels when Kanan say "I got to get my friend." But, I start to well up when they salute each other. Another one is coming that runs a very close second.
Yeah, it even makes him feel like a more competent villain, having him give advice, get ignored and then having the people he tried to help fail in front of him just makes him look that much better!
This ship was so awesome! It's crazy to think it's actually possible to rip a ship out of hyperspace but it's so amazing that it was a thing before making it into Rebels!
2:40 you probably dont know but when it comes to heavy cruisers this one is by far my fav. It's called the Interdictor Class Cruiser (you can search it up if you wanna know more about it), but basically this is the first time it gets revealed in the Canon timeline which is quite insane. How it works it the gravity wells aka the 4 spheres that you noticed pull ships that come close to it out of hyperspace which ngl is pretty smart, they also prevent ships from leaving. Its a tad bit larger than the Arquitens Class light cruiser but its smaller than the ISD I/II. And you didnt see it in this episode but the rear of the ship consists of 1 main engine and 4 smaller engines with 2 small engines on each side, much like the ISD I/II design for the rear with the difference being that the ISD has 3 main engines and 4 smaller ones. Fifth Brother casually getting foddered in that fight with Ahsoka, love it
TECHNICALLY the "Immobilizer 418 Heavy Cruiser" is a smaller variant of this ship type. The Immobilizer 418 is 600 meters, while the ship depicted, an Interdictor-class Star Destroyer (Not to be confused with an Interdictor-class Cruiser which existed around the time of the Old Republic), is much larger, at 1129 meters in length. Believe me when I say this, I made the same mistake you did in the past, believing the ship to be an Immobilizer 418, I was wrong. Don't make my mistake.
I absolutely love this ship now 😂 it's such a cool concept to have something be able to rip a ship out of hyperspace and the design just does it justice. The four spheres are so striking and contrast so well with every other ship we've seen and it is just a power house! Glad this thing got destroyed though as the Empire probably would have lasted a lot longer with a portable gravity well 😂 Loved Ahsoka's fight scene, the stragegy was perfect with her constantly knocking down the Fifth brother and taking the Seventh Sister head on.
@@TheTrytix Ah mb, also pretty sure there are 3, one is the 600 meter one, the other the 1129 meter one, and there’s the final one called the “Dominator” which is about the same size of a ISD. But yes I made a small mistake, this isn’t a 418.
@@OfficialDoggyYT True, there are also like, versions that look pretty much like standard Imperial Star Destroyers, but with gravity well domes, as well as a raised superstructure for some reason. Which interestingly enough has been shown in a canon comic as well. The more you know.
Kanan: "I pull, you shoot." Rex: "Just like the good old days!" The fact Anakin has used the force to throw droids for Rex to shoot like target practice...
Loved this so much, it's so good to see them working together but also amazing with what it means to Rex and bringing up these good memories where he fought alongside Anakin.
Just a heads up, Sabine's history with the Empire's R&D division is gonna come up a lot. Also, Chopper is indeed a big time war criminal, second only to the Big Man himself, Anakin Skywalker.
Really looking forward to getting more on Sabine's history so I cannot wait till she gets more focus. Yeah, Chopper's insane 😂😂 Honestly, it feels like his body count is only just starting!
Many believe Barris' final episode takes place after this, and that Ahsoka is the "she/old friend" Barris spoke of that knows about the Empire searching for the Force Sensitive babies.
Ohh that'd be such a good tie and it would align so well with Barriss taking in Force Sensitives and helping them escape the Inquisitors, Ahsoka basically only just realises what they're doing here so I can totally see her immediately going to Barriss for help.
Saber Bleeding is a Disney addition that's been kept isolated to the comics and books (minus that one dumb moment in the Acolyte). When a person that has become one with the Dark Side channels all that negativity into a Kyber Crystal, it becomes blood red. For proper earasure, Palpatine and Vader specifically used Jedi Kyber Crystals for the new sabers rather than searching for ones in the wild. If the Crystal comes into with a Light Side user, the corruption is purified, leaving the Crystal with a now neutral color. It functions no different than the common crystals or corrupted crystals, just that its original color is lost. Upon deciding she was ready to help Organa, Ahsoka realized she'd probably need sabers again, and took the slain Inquisitor's crystals, them becoming white upon contact. After working under Organa for a few assignments, Ahsoka built her new sabers after becoming comfortable with herself again.
"Really? That wasn't clear", and then Choppers cackle, too funny. 😂 Rex mumbling to himself with that officer near them in the elevator was something I'd do, without a doubt. 😂 Chopper snitching on Ezra...🤣 Man Chopper's a psychopath, trying to get Ezra killed, and then he rigged the gravity well to pull in everything, killing almost everyone. I loved the Kanan and Rex development in this. I wouldn't even consider any episode as filler. Everything has its importance somehow. Even in The Bad Batch, the racing episode in S2 might be considered filler, but it showed us that Cid was not to be trusted, and that came to fruition at the end of that season. "He's already briefed on the mission". Kanan knows Ezra too well. 😆 That poor droid holding the baby. 🥲 And this is why we love Ahsoka. Walking in and demolishing the inquisitors like it was nothing. A lighter version of her theme played too.
Really enjoyed both of these episodes and I'm so glad this exceeded my expectations with the whole filler thing, was just trying to figure out what they'd put here after giving every character a focused episode but it was just amazing that they decided to focus on Kanan and Rex's relationship while doing so much with the War Criminal Chopper! 😂😂 The Jedi episode was phenomenal, just seeing Kanan, Zeb and Ezra running for their lives for the most of it only for Ahsoka to show up at the end and completely wipe the floor with the Inquisitors. It was so good to see her fighting again and now I just hope this is the start for her!
Chopper laughing is the best, lol. Now he's in his element, committing war crimes - and loving it, lol. So this was the first time we saw the white blades being drawn, and they look amazing. That's Ahsoka, trained by Anakin, the Inquisitors had no chance...
The Rex and Kanan episode was so good but Chopper was most certainly the highlight 😂😂 His little laugh is so demented and I'll always associate it with his War Crimes now 😂 Ahsoka's episode was amazing!! The white lightsabers look magnificent and now I just hope we get to see her use them more often!
1. The way Interdictors work is ships have a system in the hyperdrive that is supposed to pull them out of hyperspace so they dont go crashing into a planet. The ship simulates a planet and forces the ship out of lightspeed. 2. When a force user purifiers them, they turn white and symbolizes they are a grey jedi. Ahsoka is the perfect example because she embodys what a jedi should have been before they became the senate' dogs while also being a bit disillusioned with the order but not to the effect of someone like Barriss or Dooku 3. Lightsaber color symbolizes different things. Green users are more in tune with and study the force. Blue are more combative and soldier like so its interesting to see Ahsoka changing like that and the crystals recognizing that
I love the concept of the Interdictors so much, actually having a weapon to rip ships out of Hyperspace is so insane! Ahsoka having White Lightsabers is just perfect 😁😁 As you said she's the perfect embodiment of what a Jedi should be and the white sabers just feel so ethereal and match the idea of this. Also just think in terms of colour schemes and aesthetics, the white suit Ahsoka so much, the Green and Yellow that she used in the past work with what they represent but it clashes too much with orange, Blue was a better step in just the overall look but White is perfect in every way!!
These two episodes were a blast and I enjoyed your reaction so much! It’s a relief to see Kanan and Rex finally forming a friendship, as well as Chopper being a complete maniac. I love the idea of technology being able to drag a ship out of hyperspace. I also liked the humorous nod of Rex acknowledging that Stormtrooper armor is pretty much crap. The Inquisitors hunting children is incredibly dark, and when you add a baby in the mix, it heightens the tension. Seeing Ahsoka battling with her lightsabers again is worth the price of admission alone! How awesome are those pure white sabers?!
I enjoyed Kanan and Rex's episode so much, it completely exceeded my expectations after already doing a focused episode for each character, the gravity well ship is just insane to think about that in a given radius, the Empire could rip any ship out of hyperspace and have them completely destroyed, and Chopper, of course, was the highlight of this 😂 Really earning his reputation of War Criminal! Loved finally seeing the other side of the Inquisitor's role other than hunting Jedi that remained after Order 66 and actually going after force-sensitive children, Ahsoka completely owned them too and her fight scene was just excellent! Hope this is only the start of her fight scenes as it was satisfying to see her fight again.
About how the Interdictor works: Because travelling through hyperspace is very dangerous, Hyperdrives have a safety switch that turns the hyperdrive off when it detects a strong gravity well that would suggest that the ship is closing in on a planet or something else that one would not want to crash into. The Interdictor Cruiser is taking advantage of this safety feature by projecting an artificial gravity well, so that the Hyperdrive thinks it is about to crash into a planet and switch off. This is also why one can only jumpt to hyperspace when there is enough distance to the nearest planet, so you can't just enter hyperspace from a planet's surface. This Mechanic was actually well established even long before Disney took over, but throughout the shows and movies, we have seen multiple instances where ships did run into a planet (like the Melevolence) or in some medium you haven't seen yet, there is a risky emergency jump from inside a planet's atmosphere. This creates a conflict with existing lore which lead to a lot of discussion in the fanbase. One argument is that the safety switch can maybe be disabled (which works for the Melevolence, since it was manipulated to crash), but this switch cannot be disabled too easily, because then, the rebels could just switch it off on all their ships when encountering an Interdictor. It must be a built in feature that requires complex engineering knowledge to disable, which would also be a good explanation for another instance that I can't say too much about because of spoilers. There is only one instance, where this explanation doesn't hold up, but it is the best one we have and when we get to this point, I will tell you my own theory... For now, you can just expect Hyperdrives to work like described above without any problem, but for the left single problematic instance, we have to find a reason for why this was an exception...
The Interdictor is such a cool ship and I love the concept of the Empire being able to trick ships out of hyperspace with a gravity well, it's such an overpowered tactic which just helps with the image of the Empire when we know it'll inevitably fall. Also, love the amount of detail that goes into Hyperspace travel which just makes this concept even better with how much it's thought about.
Special thanks to Derek Partridge for being such a good sport voicing the character Admiral Brom Titus who has one of the more amusing mini character arcs.
I remember he Ezra saw Kanan use the light saber n then the blaster as a combo n said he never thought to use it like that It’s about time he used it like that. Lol
Glad you enjoyed it! Loved these episodes so much, Chopper is easily becoming a favourite character across all of Star Wars and Ahsoka's fight scene was just insane!!
Freaking love episode 9. So much stuff that comes back later. Interdictor Class Star Destroyors (Aka Interdictor Cruisers) make their debut. They. Are. Cool. AF. We also get Kanan and Rex getting their developmentand I can confirm, they don't mind one another anymore. And Hera didnt even have to put them in a "Get Along" shirt. Also can we appreciate how much Ezra has progressed. My boy got a hallway scene, and did his best Yoda impression, flipping off the walls and taking out squads of stormtroopers like theyre nothing. He's become SUPER athletic, and skilled with that lightsaber of his. You love to see it. Finally, Chopper remains just as sadistic as we remember. He not only tried to kill Ezra running over his hand on purpose, but he managed one of the highest feats in Star Wars by Kill Count. And with this, it is genuinely possible that Chopper may have a higher on-screen kill count than Darth Vader. Episode 10 continues the monentum. Obviously the highlight is Ahsoka taking the inquisitors to school. She also joins a very short list of characters who can shut off an opponents lightsaber with The Force. Very impressive feat. Choppers sadism knows no limits, even after the events of the previous episode, since hes perfectly okay with blowing up ships with babies inside. The 5th Brother is... inconsistent. Sometimes hes shown to be super powerful and TOUGH to beat, like when he faught Cal Kestis. And sometimes hes a bafoon, like when he faced Ahsoka. Very strange.
Episode 9 was amazing! This new ship is so insane that ot can completely rip ships out of hyperspace and then Rex and Kanan's relationship was so good, so happy that that's been developed and that they actually feel like how Jedi and Clones felt in the Clone Wars. Ezra's progress was a joy to watch, love how effortless they made it look and it's really nice that we can track his progress like this. It still feels so crazy that Chopper is one of the deadliest things in the Star Wars franchise 😂 His trying to kill Erza was cruel but somehow this show makes his body count growth so entertaining 😂 Ahsoka's fight was phenomenal, just showed up at the last moment and then proceeded to wipe the floor with the enemies, that Lightsaber such off is such a power play and I'm suprised the Inquisitors didn't start running at that point 😂 I learnt from this episode Chopper will try to take any opportunity to increase his body count even if it means some babies are included in it 😬😂 I think that with Ahsoka's fight, she knew the Fifth brother would be trickier so she kept pushing him down and focused on the sister.
This episode marks the first appearance of one of the greatest ship ever built by the Empire. The interdictor class star cruiser. The ship was first seen in the 1991 novel air to the Empire. And it is a game changer. Back in legends continuity, the ship would basically fool all navigational computers, within a very large cone shaped area. Any ships attempting to leave or approaching ships already at hyperspace would be stopped in the tracks immediately. The mass shadow well generators essentially create a false gravitational field, like a planet, or a star. Ships attempting Hepper enter hyperspace can’t because their safety features would prevent them from jumping into said large body Even if not exists. In this show, the ship is a lot more deadly sins actually creates gravitational Wells. Which are not as advantageous for more tactical minded people. While the ships primary function which to prevent hit-and-run tactics, I pirate raids in rebel attacks. It could also be used as an offensive measure, pinpoint, jumping star destroyers, or other large fast objects. Are using an interdictor you could say have a star destroyer jump out of lightspeed at any precise location even inside a planetary shield. It’s unfortunate. The empire doesn’t have many commanders with the creativity to do that.
Love this ship so much after this episode!! It's such a cool concept that the Empire actually built something so destructive and powerful that it can actually rip anything out of hyperspace, so glad it seems the Rebels stopped it here as I imagine if the Empire had a whole fleet of these things the rebellion wouldn't stand a chance!
Regarding Choppers kill count this episode there are roughly 750 total crew per light cruiser x2 for 1500 plus the Interdictor is around 2,807 adding to a total of 4,307 all numbers according to the Star Wars Wiki page
And Chopper did all that with just some button tampering 😂😂 honestly though I looked up the rough number of Jedi who died in Order 66 and I might be wrong but it said about 10,000 so this would put Chopper to half of that 😲
Hi Ben! Hope you are well! 2:45 - Introducing the Imperial Interdictor. A ship capable of creating a gravity well so strong, it can yank a ship out of hyperspace. 8:40 - Of course Chopper gonna snitch. LMAO! 16:30 - Chopper has just become a mass murderer. 17:40 - Technically, this was an episode with character development on three fronts: Chopper, Kanan, and Rex. Chopper becomes a full on war criminal, while Kanan and Rex become close friends. 2:45 - Well, that's not entirely true.... Chopper regards the lives of his family above all else, even though he does enjoy messing with them. But Imperial lives? Oh, they are on the menu for destruction and he will laugh while doing it. I don't know the exact kill count he's got at this point, but that had to be close to 10,000 between all three ships. Maybe someone who knows will comment. 32:55 - The 5th Brother you saw in live action. The 7th sister was not in the Kenobi series.
Love this ship so much! It's such a cool concept to think the Empire came up with a weapon that can rip ships out of hyperspace! It's still so funny to think that little Chopper is probably one of the most dangerous things in the Star Wars franchise 😂😂 and you're right this was definitely a development episode for him alongside Rex and Kanan. After this, it feels like Chopper's ultimate goal is just to grow his body count but when he grew close to the Ghost Crew he decided to keep them around 😂
Regarding Kanan and Rex's relationship, we must discuss the Clone Wars. As a young Jedi, Kanan completely trusted the clones, but he came to hate them for their betrayal, as we saw in The Bad Batch. His ability to accept Rex so quickly comes from his training-particularly what he observed in his Master. Now we can even compare the evolution across the Jedi generations: 1. Windu: He saw clones as human beings but treated them rather pragmatically, positioning himself as superior and viewing the clones as lesser. 2. Depa Billaba: She respected the clones, acknowledging their individuality, though without deeper attachment, influenced by Windu’s teachings and her dedication to the Jedi Code. 3. Kanan: Taking after Billaba’s respect for clones, he grew even closer, forming deep friendships. When he escaped during Order 66, several clones he knew perished in a ship explosion. Upon witnessing it, he felt emptiness-they were both friends and now enemies. (So his past, coupled with Billaba’s teachings on clone individuality, enabled him to build a real friendship with Rex.) 4. Ezra: He embodies attachment to everyone around him. So here we can observe something interesting because over 4 generations we have gone from extreme to completely opposite. As for Ezra, we see his overconfident caution, moving solo with his lightsaber activated and asserting he can handle things on his own. My question is, what would happen if he encountered a new threat, say, a small squad of Purge Troopers trained to combat Force-users? (We saw one of them in Kenobi) This threat, unknown to Ezra, could be a significant danger to him. We could compare this to early Clone Wars Ahsoka, especially during her reconnaissance mission (the episode where she met Master Sinube)-Anakin and Kenobi ordered an evacuation, but Ahsoka didn’t see the problem. Ezra is similar, but he doesn’t have an Anakin figure to drag him back and make him follow orders. Instead, he almost has permission for his bravado, though one might debate if the positive results justify it. Regarding the kidnapping of Force-sensitive children, it follows simple logic: serve or die. Eliminating the Jedi Order doesn’t mean that, years later, a new organization won’t arise to threaten Sidious. This is another role of the Inquisition-to eliminate that threat through recruitment or murder. But what’s the reality? The galaxy is vast, and the Inquisition, at best, has around 50 members (and I'm stretching the numbers a lot from what we know). 50 Force users can’t kidnap every Force-sensitive child or kill every Jedi. In this regard, the Inquisition is ineffective. They’re a threat to individuals but not to the galaxy at large. The rise of the Knights of Ren, for example, is evidence of their failure. Working for Qi’ra, they infiltrated Vader’s palace to obtain a key to a weapon that nearly led to Palpatine and Vader’s defeat. Even the fact that Luke went undetected shows their failure (Reva doesn’t count). Why? Simply put, Palpatine doesn’t want the Inquisition to grow too powerful, as these ex-Jedi might eventually pose a threat to him. That’s the main reason-the Inquisition has a colossal task but is limited and internally weakened. As for Ahsoka’s duel with the Inquisition, several points stand out: 1. Ahsoka and the Seventh Sister share a similar philosophy on fear. Ahsoka feels no fear regarding her own fate-she might worry about others, as in The Clone Wars finale, but she is never afraid for herself. 2. The Seventh Sister laughed with a lightsaber at her throat, unafraid of Ahsoka despite the imminent threat of decapitation. However, there is a huge difference here and I'll get to that later. Now I'll say that it would be best to use Valkorion's philosophy(de facto the strongest Sith ever to exist), because in my opinion his logic and observation in this context is 100% correct. For ighting style, Ahsoka used a mix of Jar'Kai and Soresu- she learned Jar'Kai from Anakin and this is her main form, while Soresu reflects the styles of Kenobi and Barriss. To showcase her skill in this duel, Ahsoka initially launched a highly aggressive attack, setting a fast pace, and then shifted to a defensive, leaving the Inquisitors in an uncomfortable duel pace from the beginning. This led to the elimination of the Fifth Brother, reducing the battle to a one-on-one with the Seventh Sister, where Ahsoka once again took control with an intense pace, though the Seventh Sister managed to keep up. (Seventh Sister uses Ataru, a style quite similar to Ahsoka’s.) Seeing this, Ahsoka resorted to a trick, deactivating her lightsabers to bait her opponent. The logic: "Now I’m making a mistake, underestimating you, so you have a chance to kill me." (She learned this technique from Barriss, which involves understanding how an opponent holds their weapon and using that knowledge against them. Anakin later adapted this concept for further training. In this case, Seventh Sister was holding her lightsaber in the same way, also used a single form that mainly adapted to Ahsoka’s fighting style, making her very predictable, so Ahsoka thought, "I wonder what will happen if I do this.") If Seventh Sister hadn’t reacted impulsively and had taken a moment to think, Ahsoka wouldn’t have been able to disarm her. A different attack approach would have been enough to prevent Ahsoka from grabbing her lightsaber. Ahsoka would, of course, have blocked each attack and escaped, but the Seventh Sister wouldn’t necessarily have been defeated. Plus I found something interesting worth mentioning. This episode did such a fantastic job with Kanan and Rex’s relationship, these two have such a complex history with everything that happened during the Clones Wars so their actually getting along now is so powerful, almost hope this is a mini version of the state of the galaxy, as I’m guessing the average person views on the Clones aren’t that positive but with Rex being part of the Rebellion he might be able to change the way history views them. It’s so interesting how the lineage of Windu’s relation to the Clones changed with the generation, going from distant to close makes what happened to Kanan that much more painful as of course Windu wouldn’t have been that affected by it if he lived to see their turn, but it goes to show how the teaching changes over time and how traits from master to apprentice get passed down or altered. I did start thinking the same things after that Ezra scene, it’s cool that he has this confidence now that he’s openly wielding his lightsaber but it’s also arrogance, he doesn’t think there’s anything left that can challenge him as he believes the Inquisitors are the top threat and they’ve dealt with them before, it’s a huge issue that I can’t wait to see get resolve as on face value it isn’t quite a negative, only when you look deeper do you realise it’s a problem which will make it so difficult for Ezra to come to terms with. The more I learn about how Palpatine has organised his forces, the more it becomes clear that his paranoia is a huge contributor to his ultimate failure, his desire to be the most powerful and not allow anyone to take that place is causing him to weaken his own forces to the point that they fail their main objective. The Inquisitor's entire purpose is to eliminate the Jedi, yet Palpatine wants to keep them weak so they’re not a threat, which ultimately allows the Jedi to return and defeat him. This is such a freaky similarity between them 😂 both have zero fear when faced with death but for entirely different reasons, the Seventh sister probably sees it as a mercy or escape like the Grand Inquisitor while Ahsoka simply trusts in the Force. The detail in this fight scene is absolutely insane and it really goes to show the difference in skill level between Ahsoka and the Inquisitors, she absolutely owns them while they’re playing catch up. The fact that Ahsoka still has all this knowledge from her training and hasn’t let it slip after all this time makes this even more great as she can perfectly read and predict her opponent's moves from their fighting style like this leaving her in complete control of the fight. Incredible! I hope that this is only the start for Ahsoka getting more fight scenes as I really want more of this!!
Thank you for the analysis and reaction, I hope you enjoy the rest of the Season, there is a lot more for you to discover 16:14 "Now Ben will see the true capability of Chopper" XD
If your wondering how many people Chopper killed in 2x9 it’s at least 4000+ as that’s the official number of crew on all the colliding ships combined 😂😂. If you hadn’t figured out already the person with the highest body count in the series so far isn’t the Empire or any individual person it’s just Chopper 😂😂
Same 😂 He's easily becoming one of my favourite characters across Star Wars and it's so fun to think that he's probably one of the most dangerous characters in the franchise!
So now you see what I meant when I said in the first season that the inquisitors aren't really that powerful, they just seemed so because they were facing only Kanaan and Ezra, neither of which is particularly strong force user, now seeing how easily Ahsoka beats them up puts things more into context.
You're so right, the Inquisitors only look powerful against untrained Jedi and as soon as Ahsoka shows up she completely wipes the floor with them! Honestly hoping she sticks around now as she's made such short work of them when they inevitably come after them again.
Kanan and Rex’s banter became kinda a meme with kanan holding a little gruge against him Rex: hey kanan are you hungry? I can order Pizza Kanan: Yeah im so hungry i could, ORDER 66 of them Meme comunity APROVED⚖️
😂😂 I love this so much!! I hope their relationship is exactly like this from now on as their binkering is so much fun and they can do so much more with it with the history between them.
I find it funny how the bad guys always resort to "capture" not kill. And it's not till the "good guy" escapes do they open fire...like they could have just took Ezra out as the were walking to the cell. Where as the "good guys" go right for the kill....
@@benspiller I call it nerfing the bad guys and removing logic. Palpatine had no problem with Order 66, and has Vader send out Inquisitors....to HUNT Jedi, yet should they find any, just capture them? HUH?
Ahsoka was trained in single/dual blade style by Anakin, the Inquisitors being trained in double-bladed combat is too different for her to catch a similarity.
Since this season is 6-7 years after the events of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and the Jedi Survivor game, I wonder how much of the Hidden Path is still in operation at this point. We know that at least Quinlan Vos survived Order 66 and helped with the Path, but there seems to be an implication in this show that there aren't very many Order 66 survivors left... Kanan, and Ezra, and arguably Ahsoka (though she never rejoined the Order and does not self-identify as a Jedi) are the only ones who seem to be operating openly within the growing Rebel Alliance as Jedi (and we know Yoda and Obi-Wan are hiding in exile). And of course, a mere ten years later Yoda, on his deathbed, will tell Luke that he will be the last Jedi, so what could possibly happen with all these characters? Guess we'll just have to finish Rebels and watch the post-Return of the Jedi series and movies to find out...
This show definitely makes it feel like there are very few Jedi left, you'd think there'd be more mention of the hidden Path with Ahsoka working with the rebellion and two Jedi could not only help with the Path but could also escape through it. Makes me think that maybe something bad happened to it and the Empire found it which would explain its absence, hope not though and it's kept secret from even factions of the rebellion to ensure its safety.
@@benspiller she really does it’s when she casually throws 5 into a pillar head first whilst still fighting 6 and then just kneels down puts her lightsabers away and closes her eyes and catches 6’s lightsaber and turns it off in her hands 😂😂. You can’t get much more disrespected than that and not be dead. 1 of my favourite moments in the show for sure
Seeing his training is so satisfying! it's just so good to see these improvements in the heat of battle as it shows that alongside all the stuff going on, he's still training and learning and becoming so much more capable. But yeah he definitely has a problem with talking too much 😂😂 he completely forgot the droid was outside but hopefully when the inquisitors inevitably come for them he'll realise he messed up and he'll learn.
there is no filler in rebels everything has something that will come to importance later with the series or the timeline as a whole. ep 9 pretty much closes the biggest character arcs with kanan and rex for the most part now it gonna be just light banter instead of one egging the other on. one thing to remember is how for the most part how the galaxy at large sees the clones especially imperial loyalist. as far as most of them are concerned the clones are see as heroes for saving the galaxy from the corrupt jedi who had attempted to kill an elected official as far as the average civilian knows. even in TBB we see some clones still want to remain in the army even after the republic turned into the empire for the simple reason that they just want to serve. it was never a complete phase out of clones to normal conscription or volunteers. some clones in legends stayed through to endor. In the the force unleashed games there's dialog that states that Cody stayed with the empire to train new recruits right up to ANH. in current canon the fallen order games have some of the last clones left trained to specifically deal with jedi before inquisitors brought in. ep 9 is also i believe the if not one of the biggest kill counts for chopper through out the series due to him pretty much whiping out 3 cruisers and its crews. we only see the one escape pod with the one imperial so its unlikely others survived. ep 10 is pretty much where we learn outside of hunting other jedi the inquisitors other job is to search for force sensitive babies. depending on the parent would mean on if the baby lived or died likely since if they found a jedi with a force sensitive specifically if baby was of the jedi's it would be a a slaughter. if however the baby's parent wasn't a jedi or force sensitive the baby would likely be left alive since it would often be easier to take and no possibility for them to learn that they shouldn't be with the inquisitors. Ashoka's lightsabers are white due to purifying them. with red lightsabers the user have to make them bleed and pretty much torture the kyber crystal untll it bleeds. ashoka i believe it was from one the inquisitor ended up beating one and managed to purifying and remade a new lightsaber with parts from the inquisitor she beat . once again we see anakin screwing up the empire down the line. example here is he trained ashoka how to deal with targets larger them her self like the 5th brother probably after her fight with grievous and hondo.
Love so much there's no filler!! I was so concerned with this episode having gone through all the characters already and just wondering what they could possibly do here but this completely went above my expectations! This episode did such an amazing job with Rex and Kanan's relationship and I can't wait to get more scenes of them now where they've got their banter going and not trying to actively antagonise one another. Also, love how this gave us a better look at the Clone's current place in the Galaxy, it's nice that there is at least some level of respect left for them but the Empire still doesn't try to help them in any way so it kind of adds another level of evil to them, they'll happily applaud the clones but when it comes time to actually help they leave them out to dry. It's still so crazy to think that Chopper is one of the most deadly things in this franchise 😂😂 He did this with such joy and efficiency and now I fully believe he could take on the Empire singlehandedly if he wanted to. Loved the Inquisitor episode with how it expanded on their role in the Empire, it's so dark with them forcibly taking children away from parents to sculpt into more Inquisitors. The white lightsabers were so awesome and so fitting to Ahsoka!! Not only design-wise do the white match tremendously well but also the meaning behind them is incredible with how she represents what a Jedi should be without the corruption of the Republic. Her fight scene was phenomenal and I jus love so much that it's all thanks to Anakin that she this good, he really is screwing over the Empire with how well he trained her 😂😂
Now you see why I don’t get along with Ezra’s master although he does get a little better he still not my favourite. To be honest, I was worried about Ahsoka because in regards to Vader when I was younger but after seeing how she was handling those inquisitors, I was so proud of her I never should’ve been scared like that. When I first saw those two with my brother, all I wanted was for Anakin and his Padawan to have a decent life but then the truth came out about him being Vader and that idea was destroyed. It’s going to be inevitable, but it’s still not gonna bring me joy in this moment soon Looks like my little warning to not get Rex came true, but I still got my eye on him sunshine😠.
I can see that, still love what this episode did though with Kanan and Rex’s relationship. Ahsoka’s fight scene was just incredible, she really hasn’t lost any of her ability and might have even improved since she was younger. Rex came way too close to death in this episode so it’s clear the writers don’t mind putting him in that situation but I will not be happy unless he lives to see the fall of the Empire!
41:04 Getting a little tired of the idea that Anakin and Vader are soooo massively different or that they’re two separate people. I know people usually say that because they love Anakin so much so they want to take away the responsibility from him and put it on this other person but at the end of the day Vader are just all the worst parts of Anakin that were already there and we saw that. Also even though I personally don’t think Vader was redeemed in any way, the same people who separate Anakin and Vader but credit Anakin for his “redemption” aren’t understanding that in order for Anakin to be redeemed, you first have to accept that Anakin is Vader and he is responsible for all Vader’s actions in order for the redemption to be valid. If they were truly separate, there would be nothing to redeem.
I view the whole Anakin/Vader thing as a denial complex, Vader truly believes he killed Anakin, the parts of himself he deems lesser, but of course, everyone who knows him would consider them one person. Just internally for the character, he himself considers them different people. I also wouldn't say Anakin was fully redeemed but more brought things to a neutral position, his taking out Palpatine was a switchout of the Darkness but certainly doesn't automatically just shove him back into the light, it brought balance.
I thought the colour was weird, like it mixed between yellow or green and kind of being ambiguous with the colour, it's only a nitpick of mine as I just don't like that colour's aesthetic.
SPOILER WARNING!!!
I am watching all Star Wars in Chronological order; I have seen the Original Trilogy but nothing else beyond the Kenobi so please be careful of spoilers in the comments.
There are no fillers in Rebels. Every episode has its relevance.
@@darthdracul8372It was weird to me how people were surprised about Sabine.
@@illrated before the clone wars return agreed.
But you misread this topic about the fillers fillers that are relevant to Star Wars
There are some filler episodes, mostly in season 1, but few others too, like that klandathu job or whatever it was called, with Hondo and Azmorrigan, and the whole crawler heist episode in season 4, same with Double Agent Droid, and Warhead.
Ahsoka's pose and that line of "You are beat.", same thing Vader does to Luke in Episode V.
Oh wow, that’s so good! Never noticed that one before!
Ohhh that's such a good detail!!
"Chopper's a good babysitter when he's not trying to blow the baby up."
😂😂
And Episode 10, that scene of Ahsoka arriving and putting the Inquisitors in their place, ICONIC!
Both of these episodes were so good!! I've been waiting to see how Chopper became a war Criminal and this didn't disappoint 😂😂 and Ahsoka's scene was so phenomenal! It was so good to see her fighting again!
The way the Seventh Sister's eyes changed to that of a Predator when she saw Ahsoka.
Stealth Strike is my favorite stand alone episode. I start getting the feels when Kanan say "I got to get my friend." But, I start to well up when they salute each other. Another one is coming that runs a very close second.
Kallus feeling smug when his ignored warnings blow up in people's faces.
Yeah, it even makes him feel like a more competent villain, having him give advice, get ignored and then having the people he tried to help fail in front of him just makes him look that much better!
I remember when this came out, I was 12 and I couldn't believe they made the Interdictor canon at last.
Glad this thing got destroyed though as the Empire probably would have lasted a lot longer with a portable gravity well 😂
Loved Ahsoka's fight scene, the stragegy was perfect with her constantly knocking down the Fifth brother and taking the Seventh Sister head on.
@@TheTrytix the Interdictors have always fascinated me.
Filoni did say nobody knows where Chopper buries the bodies.
😂😂
Kanan: "I pull, you shoot."
Rex: "Just like the good old days!"
The fact Anakin has used the force to throw droids for Rex to shoot like target practice...
Loved this so much, it's so good to see them working together but also amazing with what it means to Rex and bringing up these good memories where he fought alongside Anakin.
Ahsoka embarrassed those inquisitors and showed them she's the boss😂😎
She absolutely wiped the floor with them! So good to see her owning these fight scenes again I hope this was only the start!
Just a heads up, Sabine's history with the Empire's R&D division is gonna come up a lot.
Also, Chopper is indeed a big time war criminal, second only to the Big Man himself, Anakin Skywalker.
Don’t forget R2-D2 he has a kill record better than Luke.
Really looking forward to getting more on Sabine's history so I cannot wait till she gets more focus.
Yeah, Chopper's insane 😂😂 Honestly, it feels like his body count is only just starting!
Copper: i have comited crimes beyond your human imagination
😂😂
Correction: the game Jedi: Survivor also shows the bleeding of a Kyber Crystal.
Love so much how she got these saber's, it's so powerful that she purified the Inquisitor's crystals with her own light.
"Really? That wasn't clear", and then Choppers cackle, too funny. 😂
Rex mumbling to himself with that officer near them in the elevator was something I'd do, without a doubt. 😂
Chopper snitching on Ezra...🤣
Man Chopper's a psychopath, trying to get Ezra killed, and then he rigged the gravity well to pull in everything, killing almost everyone.
That poor droid holding the baby. 🥲
And this is why we love Ahsoka.
The Jedi episode was phenomenal, just seeing Kanan, Zeb and Ezra running for their lives for the most of it only for Ahsoka to show up at the end and completely wipe the floor with the Inquisitors.
Ahsoka is the perfect example because she embodys what a jedi should have been before they became the senate' dogs while also being a bit disillusioned with the order but not to the effect of someone like Barriss or Dooku
@@benspiller No spoilers, but you are going to LOVE the upcoming episodes. I promise!
About how the Interdictor works:
Because travelling through hyperspace is very dangerous, Hyperdrives have a safety switch that turns the hyperdrive off when it detects a strong gravity well that would suggest that the ship is closing in on a planet or something else that one would not want to crash into.
36:44 i love that they used an angelic-ish cover of duel of the fates for her music
That was a chorus version of Ahsoka's theme.
Ohh yes, it sounds like the polar opposite of Palpatine's theme with his Dark choir making it so perfect for Ahsoka's light!
Special thanks to Derek Partridge for being such a good sport voicing the character Admiral Brom Titus who has one of the more amusing mini character arcs.
Absolutely, the character was so good and I wish he didn't underestimate the Rebels as he could have given them such a good fight.
I remember he Ezra saw Kanan use the light saber n then the blaster as a combo n said he never thought to use it like that
It’s about time he used it like that.
Lol
Loved this detail 😂 it's so cool to see him learn like this and bring these techniques back!
Aww, Ezra's Dads are fighting.
😂😂
Zeb: "I found the baby."
Kanan: "You're pretty good at this."
Zeb: * pretends to be annoyed *
Zeb's just a big softy deep down 😂
Enjoyed your reactions. LOL, "Bad Chopper!" Love both these episodes.
It still feels so crazy that Chopper is one of the deadliest things in the Star Wars franchise 😂 His trying to kill Erza was cruel but somehow this show makes his body count growth so entertaining 😂
Ahsoka's fight was phenomenal, just showed up at the last moment and then proceeded to wipe the floor with the enemies, that Lightsaber such off is such a power play and I'm suprised the Inquisitors didn't start running at that point 😂
I learnt from this episode Chopper will try to take any opportunity to increase his body count even if it means some babies are included in it 😬😂
I think that with Ahsoka's fight, she knew the Fifth brother would be trickier so she kept pushing him down and focused on the sister.
The fact Kanan had already bonded with Rex enough that he could sense immediate doom approaching Rex.
True!! He really is becoming rex's Jedi commander if he's sensing danger like this!
Ahsoka senses a lot. She just doesn’t want to know.
The denial is strong with this one 😂
Here we go! The heart of SW!😎🔥👍
Now we can even compare the evolution across the Jedi generations:
(So his past, coupled with Billaba’s teachings on clone individuality, enabled him to build a real friendship with Rex.)
(We saw one of them in Kenobi)
This threat, unknown to Ezra, could be a significant danger to him.
As for Ahsoka’s duel with the Inquisition, several points stand out:
(Seventh Sister uses Ataru, a style quite similar to Ahsoka’s.)
Seeing this, Ahsoka resorted to a trick, deactivating her lightsabers to bait her opponent. The logic: "Now I’m making a mistake, underestimating you, so you have a chance to kill me."
(She learned this technique from Barriss, which involves understanding how an opponent holds their weapon and using that knowledge against them. Anakin later adapted this concept for further training.
In this case, Seventh Sister was holding her lightsaber in the same way, also used a single form that mainly adapted to Ahsoka’s fighting style, making her very predictable, so Ahsoka thought, "I wonder what will happen if I do this.")
If Seventh Sister hadn’t reacted impulsively and had taken a moment to think, Ahsoka wouldn’t have been able to disarm her. A different attack approach would have been enough to prevent Ahsoka from grabbing her lightsaber. Ahsoka would, of course, have blocked each attack and escaped, but the Seventh Sister wouldn’t necessarily have been defeated.
Plus I found something interesting worth mentioning.

This is episode 1:
ua-cam.com/video/McRr06CGsOQ/v-deo.htmlsi=jdSL7wQC7w1UAy8C
At last, we can start to appreciate Choppers body count
😂😂 Absolutely!
Thank you for the analysis and reaction, I hope you enjoy the rest of the Season, there is a lot more for you to discover
16:14 "Now Ben will see the true capability of Chopper" XD
Glad you enjoyed it! Think Chopper's kill count is around 4,500 lives after this or so I've been told 😂😂
It's so crazy that this little droid causes this much destruction! 😂😂
@@benspiller don’t mess with chop because he will kill you and not even blink 😂😂. Have you figured out what he likes to say from time to time yet?
Ah, yes. Chopper's Silly Murder Time. I love this set of episodes, but mostly... I love Chopper 😭
Chopper kills hundreds....next episode Inquisitor kills like 12 people in a hallway and you're like that's not right! lol.
True, through Chopper's a good guy, maybe, so he's allowed to do collateral damage 😂
@@benspiller Good, bad, that's all perspective. Murder is never justifiable.
Chopper kill count: 3500+ in this episode
I'm sure this is only the start 😂
Kanan and Rex’s banter became kinda a meme with kanan holding a little gruge against him
Rex: hey kanan are you hungry? I can order Pizza
Kanan: Yeah im so hungry i could, ORDER 66 of them
Meme comunity APROVED⚖️
😂😂 I love this so much!! I hope their relationship is exactly like this from now on as their binkering is so much fun and they can do so much more with it with the history between them.
chopper does what gotta be done
In such a violent way too 😂😂
I find it funny how the bad guys always resort to "capture" not kill. And it's not till the "good guy" escapes do they open fire...like they could have just took Ezra out as the were walking to the cell. Where as the "good guys" go right for the kill....
That's true, guess it's just another weakness for the Empire so to appear as merciful they don't kill their enemies straight away.
@@benspiller I call it nerfing the bad guys and removing logic. Palpatine had no problem with Order 66, and has Vader send out Inquisitors....to HUNT Jedi, yet should they find any, just capture them? HUH?
Chopper the war criminal
Ahsoka was trained in single/dual blade style by Anakin, the Inquisitors being trained in double-bladed combat is too different for her to catch a similarity.
40:48 No because Vader has only trained the Grand Inquisitor personally.
Ah so the Grand Inquisitor would have trained these two then so Ahsoka wouldn't be able to recognize anything.
My favorite episode in the entire series is Season 3, Episode 20. Though wont say anything more about it until you get there. :)
"I know why you want the children"
"Well who doesn't want to be a mother?"
That's just wrong in so many ways
Oh absolutely! This whole thing is already twisted enough and then they have to add this angle to it 😬
Poor 5 and 7 getting disrespected by Ahsoka she could have killed them both so many times over. They are no where near her skill level.
Absolutely! She made fighting them look so easy and I can only hope that the Inquisitors think twice before trying to fight her again!
Ezra is really good at training to become a Jedi, but training his mouth in public and saying where the base is, needs a little more work. LoL 😆.
Chopper the ultimate war criminal. Who is worse darth vader, tarkin or chopper?
😂😂 Honestly not sure which one has a higher body count at this point!
Chopper has a high kill rate.
It's crazy that this droid is one of the most dangerous things in the galaxy 😂
there is no filler in rebels everything has something that will come to importance later with the series or the timeline as a whole.
ep 9 pretty much closes the biggest character arcs with kanan and rex for the most part now it gonna be just light banter instead of one egging the other on. one thing to remember is how for the most part how the galaxy at large sees the clones especially imperial loyalist. as far as most of them are concerned the clones are see as heroes for saving the galaxy from the corrupt jedi who had attempted to kill an elected official as far as the average civilian knows. even in TBB we see some clones still want to remain in the army even after the republic turned into the empire for the simple reason that they just want to serve. it was never a complete phase out of clones to normal conscription or volunteers. some clones in legends stayed through to endor.
Her fight scene was phenomenal and I jus love so much that it's all thanks to Anakin that she this good, he really is screwing over the Empire with how well he trained her 😂😂
11:42 finally an in universe explanation for why Stormtroopers are such bad shots.
Chopper easily has the 3rd or 4th highest body count only because Vader, Asoka, and 1 more character that idk if he beats chopper
Love that this little crazy droid is one of the most dangerous things across all Star Wars 😂😂
It’s going to be inevitable, but it’s still not gonna bring me joy in this moment soon
Looks like my little warning to not get Rex came true, but I still got my eye on him sunshine😠.
@ Agreed!
Wait why do u consider her green yellow saber weird?
I thought the colour was weird, like it mixed between yellow or green and kind of being ambiguous with the colour, it's only a nitpick of mine as I just don't like that colour's aesthetic.
@ ahh kk
