I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it but wasn't there a thing that when uninstalling Undertale yourself it would delete the file it was in regardless of permissions, which allowed you to insert it into any file even system32 and it would delete it. It was patched though

i never planned to make my "dream game" because not even AAA studios could make it, but while i've never fully finished a game, i've attempted like 20 times and gotten the gist of it, so to everyone who wants to learn, there is no such thing as a failure when learning, only a teaching moment. So even if you made 5 unfinished games, you've learned as much as someone who's made 3 working games, in fact maybe you learned more because you're trying different genres of games (i hope). so yeah 😋

The game would need admin privagles to do something like that. Unfortunately lots of people have taken advantage of that... Including triple A game studios. Malware devs would take full advantage of that.

I will say it's entirely possible taxes are collected in the game, but they aren't transparent. Being American my information might be a little skewed, but my understanding is that European prices have the VAT added directly into the price; ConcernedApe could have taken that as inspiration and be including the taxes within the prices we pay, or subtracting the taxes before we receive our payout for things we sell.

With items being a flat rate that’s what a lot of the world do the price you see labeled is what you pay which includes VAT or Value Added Tax so it’s not added on as like a fun little surprise

Government spending part. 1. Sales Taxes are often included in the price in most places with the USA being an exception. 2. Technically the State doesn't build the roads, businesses paid by the State do. Historically, even private citizens would fund road building projects because it benefited the town. Andrew Carnegie for example built the firsr all Steel Bridge across the Mississippi River at one of it's widest points. So the State isn't necessarily required for infrastructure upkeep. It's just in modern times we've gotten used to and reliant on it. Basically Stardew may be so remote that the public at large pays and does most of the infrastructure upkeep and not the State. It's how it worked for most of human history as well. Collect funds (not taxes) then pay local builders to fix a road or bridge. Local businesses would often donate because they need those road/bridges to operate.

There is severe and rapid inflation in stardew valley 😧
