For some reason I've got a problem about looking at all my shelves full of games and saying "Shit, I've got nothing to play" whenever I have free time. Looking forward to the channel!
On my personal experience, you have to find *your* type of game. This exact thing happened to my stepmother, she used to say that she never understood videogames, and that “just sitting there pressing buttons” wasn't fun for her. That was until she played OneShot (I recommended it to her) and she inmediatly fell in love with it. She literally beat 60% of OneShot Solstice on a single sitting after getting the first ending
I just quit college for game design 2 years in. After multiple conflicts with teacher about how we taught and talked about games I needed to leave. I'm here for this new look, a reshaping/generation is probably due. The timing feels too perfect to find this here and now, not going to complain though. For the first time in a long time I'm excited for what the future holds. hope we can all look back 5 years later proud.
very professional looking video, been following indie devs on twitch for years now, some of them quite successful very curious on what stuff you'll be making whenever you start with it!
I am starting as a game dev and frankly done with the corporate world so even once I (hopefully) become proficient, I think I'm indie all the way for better or worst. My biggest fear is the art to be honest.
I think AAA games are becoming more and more stale because they don't take risks anymore, Nintendo is the exception given its track record, fans expect fun and innovative new features from them so they are pretty much the gold standard for triple A creativity expression. On the other hand indie games can be bonkers, you can do whatever the hell wacky concept comes to your mind, and it is so liberating! I'll share a very stupid concept here (pls nobody steal it or Imma be mad D:
okay im confused was this another channel before?? i have no memory of subscribing to this channel but i got a notification for this post and i clicked the video and im subscribed??
What's the game at 1:39? The pixel art little girl? But to the topic. I felt game burnout some years ago, and I chose to play a new type of game of which I haven't in years (a platformer, lol). Hollow Knight what brought me out of the rut.
It's a shame I feel so envious of this. This is exactly what I wanted to do with my life but I just have too many health conditions to be a functional member of society, let alone produce content.
I'm sorry... what was that game with the samurai looking dude riding a motorcycle down the freeway and a combat helo about to unload on him? I might want to play it.
Your basically making me relive 2014-17 when Indie games where good and not just another copy of wuzzle or bendy wtv the fuck would be nice to see some topics about tattletale

Im all in on this community🙏🔥
As an aspiring (and studying) game dev, I've noted that the key to this industry, above all, is community and connections.

yeah, you'll find you are not the only one.
I haven’t been able to fall in love with gaming for over a decade and it makes me feel hollow. I’m subscribing, perhaps you’re onto something.
