You can exploit Ashikaga removing the shogunat by going to 1792 while selecting ashikaga then revertig back to 1444 having it selected then your a duchy with no diplo slots needed for your vasalls which also cant fight each other prop someone very good at the game should try a world conquest speed run with this

one way to fix the problem in hoi4 is to add an economy system like in power & revolution games. If you expand your army you should need more money and general maintenance to support it. But in hoi4 because you can somehow have infinite armies the ai just spams it non stop.

The only Paradox DLC I can think of that people actively disable is CK2's Sunset Invasion. CK3's Friends and Foes maybe deserves it, too, but I haven't heard of anyone that's actually done it.

using EU4 logic, the issue is just the doomstack meta, if you spread out and play it 'tactically' like irl would happen, the enemy is just gonna doomstack send all the boats to the fight, irl the communication lines wouldnt be fast enough for open world combat to have ships reinforce into a battle the way AI does add to it that there isnt a siege mechanic in the open seas (like on land) means the only reason why you WANT boats is to prevent enemy troops for doing a landing on you and sometimes for a siege you are always gonna have to focus on land combat because thats where the sieging is gonna happen and you need to full siege someone to 100% them even if you made it so countries could claim sea tiles and one could siege thoses, there just isnt a point to it

I really like the way navies and blockades etc work in the Strategic Command games. Worth looking into.

But I wonder why you built templates for full combat width, usually I prefer to build templates to 1/2 or 1/4 combat widths to prevent attrition before fusing them when needed. Also you could have TC Tsingtao to prevent resistance building up

Tech 2 unlocking naval engagement width is a subtle nod at the fact that naval warfare wasnt invented before 1420, as also shown in their entries to the crusader kings series with the small liberty of not implementing naval combat for only the last 30 years of gameplay available after 1420, a bit unrealistic as we know that naval warfare was invented during that end period of crusader kings but it is a game afterall and you cant expect a feature to be implemented for 30 years of gameplay on a 700 year game.

Minor nitpick, but Copernicus was not Polish in the way in which Eu4 uses "culture" despite the game showing him as "Polish" culture - a problem also present in Eu4 when it comes to the game refraining from some or explicitly adopting other nationalist historical narratives of specific countries sometimes. He worked for the Polish Kingdom which is accurately portrayed by advisor roles in Eu4, but it would be more accurate if he was of Prussian culture ingame (or Lower Prussian if the game ever split of the difference between that).

If you're talking about the kheterata second civil war thing, I believe the discipline only affects the unique troops.

It's like with United and ready polish "DLC", it's just for prestige. Both could be just day one patches no problem, but making them into DLCs sticks in the player's heads more easily than just a simple patch. Also by placing them in the DLC category both on premiere buyers and players who bought the game even years later have a more positive reaction by seeing this in their "owned DLCs" list and again, it stands out more so players will remember it more. Like, does anyone still remember that patch for CK2 that added monuments? Is anyone making any videos talking about this even though it was great addition to the game? But here we are with women in history, nearly 10 years after premiere people talk and make videos about it
