Errm, actually, Revolutionary France still owned Haiti, the Senegal coast as well as some cities in Senegal, and had also reinstated control over Louisiana the year after Napoleon became consul, alongside the usual exclaves in India and the current overseas territories in the Caribbean or Guyana
They really should just make a paradox game between eu4 and vicky covering napoleonic era, maybe starting in like the 1780’s. Because Napoleon really shouldn’t be relegated to a late game footnote of a period piece game, he deserves his own spotlight.
I think it would be better to have Europa Universalis ending in 1789 (original end-date of the game) and Victoria starting in 1789. You make EU shorter and remove the content nobody plays, and you make Victoria larger and more interesting, now spreading over the very early start of mass-industrialization and colonial revolution. Also, there would be A LOT of potential for alternative history.

I continue to advocate my idea for 2 dedicated start dates for EU4/5. The earlier start, and a 1648 start. The 30 yrs war resulted in such a different political landscape in Europe that it is hard to model that change. Obviously you could start in 1444 and play thru to 1821, but a start date in 1648 would showcase absolutism and revolution to more people, and give a more balanced mid-game than pretty much any game starting in 1444 would have
I once did a France run into the Roman Empire and on my way there I was like "Let me try that revolutionary stuff". Ngl a protestant Revolutionary Roman Empire with roughly 135% Discipline, like 75% CC reduction, some 10.0 morale of armies and 3 million men in the field was fun although cursed. Ended the run with roughly 14k development as I conquered the entirety of continental Europe and held pretty much the Entirety of Russia through vassals. Oh and I also PUd Spain which PUd Portugal so I had both Americas as colonies lol

something to mention about the revolution. if you want to be ahistorical and more about optimizing the game. the revolution only has a penalty to the catholic branch of Christianity, but doesn't do anything to any other religion in the game (so for example you could be orthodox France. hussite France. reformed France. protestant France.
