Riga is one of my favorite nations to play. Riga into Kurland is really, really fun. I want to try doing Riga -> Kurland -> Netherlands, but that seems really hard. Fun part of Riga -> Kurland is that as Kurland you can get weaker verssions of the modifiers Riga gets in Riga as well and they stack.
Part I mised on a first watch, but the 6 province restriction is only for provinces in Europe... in my Riga -> Kurland -> Mossi run (don't judge me I wanted more missions) I owned large swatches of both Africa and India while retaining my Riga buffs. The buffs stay useful even into the 1700's imo because you can burn tax from Riga and get like 2000-4000 ducats per point of tax. You really don't need to restrict yourself as much as you think you'd have to.
Was searching for Riga videos and saw this video and thought "How come Lemon Cake has a video on Riga AND Prussia that I haven't watched?" and then I noticed the 50 minutes ago
I had an idea once - stacking avaliable loot in provinces modifiers would it be really noticeable or underwhelming, it would mostly help hords or countries that could raid coasts
Man, now I'm nostalgic for just after Leviathan dropped. ...not even trying particularly hard, just always pillaging and stealing development, ended the game with ~1.5k dev in my capital in Bumfuck Nowhere (Mong Pai, playing Shan)
@@LemonCake101you can still concentrate dev from your subjects which might have helped you get more manpower. forget which ytber i saw do it but some guy hit 1k dev on ulm whilst staying a free city
@@hankjaffe9542 I mean you def can do it if you build around it, hell if you stack dev cost efficiency (not dev cost, different modifier) you can literally dev for free, and that's doable in this patch too.
@@LemonCake101There has to be a point when an inefficient march with high dev gives more force limit than an efficient one. Quadrupling their dev certainly gives them a higher force limit than the 30% march buff.

5 provinces *in Europe* means you can own all of africa, asia, amd CNs in alll the regions personally. But the point still stands, even the tall/deepest of tall Anbennar tags are still going to want more than 5 provinces. I don't care if its 5 holds, that's still like 500 development, something like 200 of which is manpower, plus 5 soldiers households. That's just not enough in the late game.
each -1% decay decrease or +1% increase changes your resting by 20. 5% army tradition decay doesn't decay from say 20% by 5 a year, pdx lies: you lose 1% army trad a year regardless of the current amount, aka it assumes you are always at 100% army tradition. With that, my extra 1.5 ish spare army trad (more 1.75 with 0.75 from forts) leads to around 35 extra resting point over the 100 cap.
@@LemonCake101 thats very much not how it works. you lose about as much as expected by math, just that it displays a yearly loss when it instead calculates monthly decay
8:50 I'd never considered this but if the average development of your provinces is over 50, you can never get the full Army Tradition from Fully Maintained Forts (+0.79 in your case).
It's better to form Hansa and livonia before Prussia to get all the buffs (livonian missions buff your capital and Riga) and get colonial to get manpower. Also you can get paper in Riga after Printing Press.
It starts as balten, the baltic german culture. It’s the only province in the game to do so. I think it was prussian before balten was introduced, but that was a few years back at this point (balten was introduced in lions of the north)
This game was Riged from the begining. Btw: you can get riga up to 100 dev with expanded infrastructure and stacking cost reductions from ideas before you start htitting the pay wall.
3:10 I think that state deletes it randomly, happened to me constantly, Finland just would not keep that building for no reason. That’s probably what happened here
I was wondering why there was a grey swath over Russia and I guess Muscovy collapsing thanks to your invasions helped, but still Kazan had the game of their lives.
