I Didn't Know This River Had Trout This Size! | Fly Fishing California
I went out on what was supposed to be a stormy and rainy day to beat the crowds on this local spot. The weather ended up being pretty nice and I had a few hours to myself before everyone else figured it out. I caught several fish and I landed what could be my best Rainbow Trout of the year!

Fly Fishing - Chasing Blue Lines on a Map | Sierra Nevada Mountains

Blue Lining Definition: Fly fishing A technique used to find trout streams that aren't heavily fished by following blue lines on a topographic map. The blue lines represent water, while other lines indicate elevation changes. When looking for promising waters, anglers may look for blue lines that are far from roads, bridges, and trails. Blue lining can also refer to a style of fishing that invo...

Would you recommend for or against running the generator in the bed of a truck with a spray in bed liner? Just wondering if I get one if I’ll need to pull it from the bed before I power my camper. Thanks.
@@chrisharris9115 I run mine in the bed occasionally, but a lot of people argue against it for vibration reasons. It can be hard on the moving components if it's not on a solid surface, but think of all the generators that guys are running on welding trucks and onboard motorhomes. I think you'll be good.
@@RoadandReeloh I wasn’t thinking it might be bad for the generator. I was curious about it damaging my bed liner. I won’t be running it while driving.
@chrisharris9115 if it's a traditional spray on bed liner, you should be fine. If it's a diy roll on, probably not. The feet are rubber and do a great job of absorbing the vibrations.
@ it’s a spray on from the factory.
@@chrisharris9115 you should be good to go. Mine is a factory spray on liner and I haven't had any issues.
Feedback? How is the crust? Crispy , fully cooked ?
Yes, fully cooked and the crust is great! I warm the stone until it reaches about 900 degrees and then I can cook a pizza in about a minute. The only time I've had an issue is when I try to overload the pizza. The crust still get good and crispy, but the toppings will burn before it cooks them through. On those, I have to start a little cooler and cook a little longer. It still only takes 2-3 minutes.
Does it have a griddle attachment ?
@@Shazam-sdn no, that's one of the drawbacks. No griddle attachment unless you put a flat top on top of the grill.
Ppl might say as they little bit of water is not A big deal. But if u live in colder climates, then that little bit of water will freeze in the rollers and tracks and make the cover useless
@@megandonahue6832 I've never even thought of that. That would be a major deal breaker.
Many years ago my friend and I were exploring near Bake Oven near the base of Monache Mountain and we walked along a very small stream no more than a foot or two across when we noticed the banks were very undercut and some spots were deep. I sat down to have a snack while my friend dropped a dry fly in a few spots. My back was turned when I heard him holler and I turned to see his rod bent all the way over......and in about a minute he pulled out a 20" Brown with intense golden color and large orange spots! We marveled at it for a minute and then released it back into it's unlikely domain. Never judge a trout by his stream size.
@@CBeard849 that's awesome! I have a similar story from up on Dinkey Creek with Rainbow Trout. Tiny creek with a huge undercut.
Having the same problem my auger can’t break the pellets not strong enough so hoping this will work
@@kimjongunyyyyy9157 mine is still going strong. Good luck!

Did you just reuse your gasket?
@@DoggoneJohn yes, I cleaned everything and reused it.
@ got it thanks!
I would be very sad if I broke my redington classic trout #3... I own an old classic trout, I mean the old logo one. I think those are the deal.
I had my old classic trout for almost 15 years before it broke. It's replacement lasted a few years and now I seem to go through one a year. Mind you, my original classic trout was my go to rod and it put in so much more work than my new ones. I own 3 of them and I always have a broken one on my workbench waiting to be shipped out. I have one on there now and I might not even send it in. Maybe I'll make a video repairing it myself...

How the generator so far thinking about buying it can you give me some information about what to be aware about this
I haven't had a single issue. Even after letting it sit for a couple months unused, it fired right back up. I haven't even changed the oil yet, which I should probably do this winter. It's been a solid generator.
Thank you how loud is it
@jacklane7439 it's probably too loud to run in a campground at night, but it's fine boondocking. I put it on the other side of the truck and you can't hear it in the trailer, but a neighbor on that side probably could.
Awesome setup. I just bought the Marlin 7 in an XXL with the same rack. Defiinately plan to duplicate this setup so I can ride to the local park and fish with minimal gear. Thx for the video.
@@slaisebam it's been awesome on road trips where I can just load up and ride down to the fishing spots. A lot of times my wife may need the truck if we're camping and this allows me to leave it with her.

Nice one
Instead of bending the springs, you can do it the right way and remove the caliper from the bracket
You're right. I made an updated video addressing this. I think it's linked in the comments/description.
Thanks for the video. I'm opting to buy a Pellet Grill. I'm having to choose between a Nexgrill Oakford 790 and a Traeger Pro 575. What would you recommend if the cooking space/ difference between the two isn't an option. The price difference between the two is about $55
The extra cooking space of the Nexgrill is really nice. I smoked a 25lb ham and was still able to add a couple more dishes next to it on Thanksgiving, but the Traeger has nicer options. I can't really use the WiFi with mine because it is so clunky and unreliable and that's not an issue with the Traeger, but space is more important to me than the wifi monitor.
@RoadandReel Thanks for your speedy response, insightful content, and recommendation. Keep up the good work!👌

@@Uke4Jesus thanks!
I've had one for almost 5 years. It's held up well and I would call it semi-dry ish. My main complaint is the cover won't lock closed in any position except fully closed. Another minus for many is the size of the roll tube. Not at all perfect, but I like it.
That's weird because mine locks in any position. I wonder if you can adjust your latch underneath. Maybe it's a little too tight.
Did you find anything different without the oem anti rattle springs on the pads ?
@@robschanaynay3500 no, no difference or squeaks.
Was you having no heat in the cab ?? Issue as well ??
Yeah, very little heat in the cab. It was barely warm.
1. You don't know how to set the hook and the result is quite visible. 2. Learn how to control the slack. We reel line once the hook is set or are going home not when your fly is coming down. 3. I've entry level Redington rods and been using them since last 16 years. They even replaced two rods and shipped to India without courier charges. 4. Buy SA Aircel line for Classic Trout and keep your line tight.
@@TOFK911over 300 days of fly fishing after this video and I haven't used a Redington rod since then. Haven't had any more broken rods either. Redington sucks and I'll never go back to their rods. I'm glad you've had good luck with them.
I've fished bass tournaments for close to 50 year, been pretty successful too. I've been fly fishing for about 2 years. The mop fly is the most productive lure that I've found for trout. The best bass lures don't look like anything alive either. Someone needs to tell the purists that they don't get points for style.
Cool! I have used the magnetic set=up for years and love it. Net always snaps right back very quickly. I also attach about 3' of stretch cord just in case I drop the net etc or get snagged hiking through brush or trees.
@@geraldskinner63 yeah, I really like the magnet. It's nice when I have a backpack on too.
At 31:15, that road is definitely open to the public. It goes down to the Edison Powerplant. You can park on the left side and there is even a sign that says that it is open for public recreation. There's even a raft launch site. As you get right up to the powerplant it says that the road is private, but you can just park before you get to that sign. The powerplant is a very popular fishing site. I was just there today, btw.
