Thanks I was fishing at the upper owens in the last week of Oct, but about a mile from Benton Crossing. My friend caught a 21 inch 4 1/2 lb rainbow on a barbless lure. Difficult to land, lots of weeds from the bank and about a 8 inch drop to the water. Your spot looks a lot better. Will have to travel further North and find more level banks.

Nice! You could have caught small fry and still loved that stream. The Owens is a must fish for anyone who fishes California.
What reel are you using and what beer were you drinking?
It should definitely be on everyone's bucket list and it fishes differently every time I go. That reel is a Redington Rise in rose gold and has quickly became a favorite of mine. The beer is an 805 and delicious!
