I went to Wadi Shab last week. Just one piece of advice to anyone visiting there - if you or anyone in your group isn't comfortable with 8-9 ft. deep water swimming, then they can either rent a life jacket or buy one on the way to the wadi. Have a safe exploration.

I am from Brazil. I speak Portuguese fluently, but Salvador is not the place for me. A very dangerous place for anything else is Rio de Janeiro. Pipa, Jericoacara, Florianópolis, Serra Gaúcha, São João del Rey are my favorite places here. I am 11% African by DNA. I'm not welcome in Salvador. Lots of robberies, people excused, dirt everywhere. Lack of hygiene not to mention the lack of safety is glaring. If you don't speak Portuguese well then you might have a problem. Get out of it.
