Miami is a fascinating city in the United States. It’s unique in that it’s got a big Latin and Caribbean influence due to the inhabitants that call Miami home and its cultural landscape continues to evolve as new groups of people arrive. It’s a place that people historically came in waves, and continue to come to, in order to build a better life for themselves. Is Miami the American Dream? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
As someone who lived in Miami for about a year; It is not the American Dream. It is the city of America Future with a heavy mix of all of America Craziness, and neurosises. ps: also love you channel!!! keep up the great work
What blew me is Malini can connect with people so easily bc she speaks their language. I'm so impressed imma binge the rest of your channel tonight omgg!!!
As a resident of Miami, I can tell you it's a nice place to visit, but the farthest thing from the American Dream. Overpopulated, jobs are underpaid, housing is absurdly expensive, some of the rudest people in the entire world live here, unbearably hot and humid summers, threats of hurricanes, tornados, flooding... I could go on. I'm looking to move in the next year.
Your videos are some of my favorites. Too many people travel without any knowledge of the culture and history, but you are conscientious, considerate, and caring. Thanks 😊 for quality content.
Dear Miss Angelica, I wish to express my gratitude for yet another captivating video. I must acknowledge my appreciation for the documentary approach you employ, as your multilingual proficiency significantly facilitates audience connection and engagement.
I lived in Miami for 10 years and regret selling my townhouse which is now worth a lot of money. One of my best friends there is Cuban and I love the Latin vibe and energy. I began my training in Flamenco dancing with my first teacher in Miami who was from Spain. You are lucky that you can eat anything!! I absolutely love your videos.
Excellent video! Well balanced presenting tourist spots but also the other communities often overlooked. And great point regarding Liberty City authenticity vs a gentrified neighborhood’s attempt at authenticity. 🙌🏿🎬
A lot of travel you tubers should look at your channel to understand how to tell the story of the places you visit and learn from how you let the people tell their stories. Bravo Malini.
@@maliniangelica1 What can i do to find you? I love you and your works. Truly speaking, i am your secret admirer and lover here in Muscat, Oman.😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤❤❤
Your videos have the exact same feeling as watching Globe Trekkers. There is no "what I think", most of the time your are an observer where you are visiting... you give voice to others to paint the picture of what the place is. Nowadays most people became youtubers and just shove their opinions about a culture they have't lived. Yours is one of the best travel channels in UA-cam. Cheers from Brazil!
Another brilliant production, Malini Angelica. At the beginning, I thought this would be another "lifestyles of the rich and famous" and you went straight into the neighborhoods, culture, and history, como siempre. I love it! Thank you!
Bienvenido a Miami! Thanks for covering Miami. Doral used to be where many Colombians lived, and Weston was where many Venezuelans lived. Midtown used to be full of stacked up shipping containers. Miami is definitely changing.
Ocean Drive is a famous boulevard in Miami Beach with Art Deco buildings, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. It is a popular tourist destination and known for its vibrant nightlife. The famous scene from the film "Scarface" (1983), where Tony Montana (played by Al Pacino) and his friend Manny Rivera (played by Steven Bauer) disrupt the drug deal with the Colombians, was filmed on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. This scene specifically takes place at the fictional "Sun Ray Hotel," which is actually represented by the Art Deco District on Ocean Drive. The location of this scene is at 728 Ocean Drive, where a restaurant called "Johnny Rockets" is now located. This part of Ocean Drive is famous for its historic Art Deco architecture and is often used as a filming location because of its iconic appearance. Tnx for the inspiration, love u😍
I’m from Colombia 🇨🇴 and I feel like home in this city , but it has become way too expensive , due to political crisis in different latin countries , housing prices have gone trough the roof 😢
Amazing work! As a resident of Miami, not a Native (from New England) I can honestly say Miami is a great city. I just wouldn’t say it’s that diverse. Mostly Cuban, and primarily Hispanic. My wife, who is Jamaican, but grew up in Miami visited Boston with me. She was amazed how many languages were spoken in a park we hung out in. Being of mixed race…black, white, and look Hispanic, I can fully say that Miami is a great city, just not a diverse a most people think. Your piece did well at trying to connect with the communities, and did an amazing job compared to pretty much every other UA-camr, but the piece that is missing is the continued struggle for a lot of groups that come to Miami, for years, and continue to struggle because of the influx of new people. Yes, some have made it, but many that built Miami, much like my ancestors that built this country dripping blood and tears, still struggle to get a seat at the table, and receive their piece of the “pie”. Living in Carol City for many years, now Kendall, after living in Jamaica for awhile, you have to really live here to understand and appreciate what Miami actually is.
Angélica, the diaspora is not over... as long as there is blindness in the peoples of the world, who believe that the “Cuban revolution” was good, it was quite the opposite. Thank you very much for the video.
Malini, fantastic vid!! Love you Salsa dancing! Great you profiled Liberty City, Miccosukees and Doral’s Venezuelans, neighborhoods many tourists don’t get to see. Makes me want to have a Ceviche and Chilcano right now! Miami’s energy is intoxicating! Again, thanks for sharing!!

I wanted to give you priase for a wonder video. I was thoroughly enteained and educated. But I have one question regarding the gentrification of certain areas of Miami. Could it be also argued that when the wave of Cuban, Central and South Americans came to Miami they gentrified areas? Many of the areas indentifed in the video were not originally Latin American areas.
