In this video I'm in Guadalajara, in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. I explore the historic centre of Guadalajara, and take a trip to the nearby Tequila region where I visit a tequila distillery and learn about how its made. I also try the classic dishes of Jalisco, like the birria goat soup, barbacoa tacos and carnitas tacos! This region of Mexico is also where mariachi music is from so I listen to mariachis sing live in the plaza. It's the cultural heart of Mexico and I'm so glad I visited!

I love my city and I miss it so much. I was born there 46 yrs ago but my parents brought me to the United States when I was only 8 yrs old. I lived in Guadalajara for a very short time but I feel proud of my heritage so I always say I am Tapatia 🇲🇽🥰🥹 I go often to visit my family and one day I hope to be back and never leave, I love it 🥰

Muchas gracias por venir a nuestra ciudad y mostrarle a tus fans, algunas de las cosas hermosas que tiene nuestro estado, solo encontré un pequeño detalle en tu vídeo y es que lime: lima y lemon: limón, aquí en México son 2 frutas diferentes y saben muy distinto, lo que estuviste comiendo son limones , la lima solo se usa para hacer agua y en Mérida la usan en una sopa, pero son sabores muy distintos entre ambas frutas

I'm glad you enjoyed my native Jalisco but you really missed out if you weren't able to go to the Los Altos region on the other side of Guadajalara from the town of Tequila.
You would've seen some of the most amazingly beautiful people. The most beautiful women are known to come from Los Altos de Jalisco.
Atotonilco el Alto, Arandas, Tepatitlan, Lagos de Moreno are definitely places with a lot of charm that you'd enjoy visiting.

I love all your videos! You do an amazing job! Please check out the fun city of Mazatlan in the state of Sinaloa. The city was recently in a “battle” over Banda music on the city’s beaches.

Thank you for your reply! Mazatlan is the birth place of Banda music and has a bit of German influence due to the influx of immigrants to Mexico during the “Porfiriato.” The seafood is at another level and they state that Mazaltan is the authentic Mexican beach town.
The recent “battle” against playing Banda Sinaloense on the beach is labeled as gentrification. Please explore Mazatlan and the beautiful state of Sinaloa! 🎉
LOL the face of my ex (who is from Guadalajara) when hearing that Jalisco is at the "center" of the country. They are going to go like "this is the West! (Occidente). Amazing content Angelica! You really capture the essence of every place you visit!
Jalisco state is to the west of Mexico yes, but the state is so big that it covers from the shore all the way into the center of the country, Guadalajara is half way between the shore and the center of Mexico, that said the nickname of Guadalajara is “La Perla de occidente” (the Pearl of the west)
She didn't say that. She said Central Mexico.
That and the Spanish brought all the livestock apparently. Also, Mariachis are not a band but a group.

I also had the misconception that tequila was rough from all the Jose Quervo rounds back in the day. Until some Mexicans laughed and enlighten me with the good stuff at a party.
