Rome, Italy, is one of Europe’s top tourist destinations, filled with incredible ancient ruins, beautiful monuments and delicious food. Most people don’t experience true Roman life in Rome, sticking to the well trodden tourist path, when in Rome however, it truly pays to do as the Romans do, so I hope this video is helpful for those who want to appreciate the true essence of Rome! I show you how to breakfast like a Roman by starting the day off with cappucino and cornetto at a local Roman cafe, I also try some of the famous Roman pastas like cacio e pepe and pasta alla gricia at small local Roman trattorias. When in Rome a visit to the market is a must, I buy some fresh produce and take it to the beautiful villa doria pamphili for a roman picnic. I also show you how best to enjoy Rome's majestic ancient monuments like the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, and pantheon, at night when the streets are empty!

So many travellers trash Rome but they’re clearly doing it wrong. Thank you for showcasing the true essence of Rome and the Roman people.
True. I did it wrong, got worn out by waklking and sweating in the summer! With a little more effort I oculd have enjoyed Roman life.
Please, can you tell the name of the osteria…

I’m italian, I have lived in Rome for 10 years now, and I can definitely say you captured the true roman spirit in this video. I know how difficult it is for people born in other countries (especially USA) to guess or understand our kind of life because when you see Italy in tv or movies is often from an american point of view of view (like american directors, writers and productions), that is usually very romanticized. But this…this is the true Rome.
We have a layover in Rome airport at night time for 9 hours. Is it safe to travel Rome at night time ??? Please advise. Our flight is at morning 4 am from Rome
@@ganeshr4371 mmh Rome is a pretty safe place but if you are a woman alone, maybe I wouldn’t recommend to leave the airport and visit the city at night. If you are a man or a group of people and you don’t want to waste 9 hours in the airport, you could take a train or a bus and visit the city. Of course, you should stay always vigilant for pickpockets. I recommend to keep the wallet and documents in the most hidden pocket you have on yourself (not in your bag or backpack). Take in mind that there aren’t a lot of bus at night and that the underground is closed so, once you’re in the city, you may need to walk a lot to move around. Depending on what airport are you traveling from, consider with care the time you will need to return there.
Other than that, you should be fine.
Hi, i am planning my trip to Rome, should i spend a month there?
@@monacokusni1015 There is a lot to see in Rome and if you want, you can take a train and go anywhere from there (Napoli or Milan in 1h, or even Firenze in 3h..).
My wife and I have been to Rome twice, and the only thing we can say about this magnificent city is that there is a Wow on every corner. We will be back in this fantastic place in 4 weeks time, and we can't wait. Ciao Bella Roma.
Couldn't agree more!
Hi Angelica! I'm Luca (the red haired) guy from the pic-nic part of the video! It was a plesure to meet you guys! This is a perfect portrait of Roma! nice job, and thank you for the interview!
hi luca, do u know sgrullo?

Classic toscano a Roma. The real lucadicarta on Twitch
Lucadicarta better than cappuccino and pizza.
im here and im loving every single one of it. All roads really leads to rome!
Walking through the narrow paved cobble stoned streets late at night, early morning while raining with an umbrella in hand all by yourself was a very magical moment that really made an impact. Breathtaking! Thanks.😊
Omg!! This is Italy !!! 🇮🇹
You captured the magic
Why am I crying? Grazie !!
Italian language has always been like magnet to me , anything sound magical and magnificent when spoken in Italian or ancient LATIN . Even simple names such as Rozzetta, Bianca , Giovanni , those monuments, those umbrella like pine trees, next to palm trees, Rome is trully in any sense and every sense, the most magical city in the World...
Yes…. And almost 70% of English words come from Rome/Latin/Italian… although these high level words are used every day by everyone in Rome, not so In the English language because people would think you are some scholar!

As a Roman citizen, I have appreciated your video very much. I believe that it gives quite an accurate view of the spirit of the city. Of course, it does so from the point of view of a person with much spare time… and very, very hungry! :)) However, each single thing is true, although we don’t do all that stuff on our typical day: we also have a job! ;) But it’s true: I often go biking or jogging at Parco degli Acquedotti, I do stroll within the center during nights, I do eat a slice of pizza or a supplì while seating on the steps of a fountain, I do like a gelato at 5pm, I do like having an aperitivo, I do like having dinner in an osteria or in a pizzeria…
As a suggestion for incoming people interested in the real city: get a B&B outside the historical center, for example along the subway line A or B.
Cheers
I'm from Belgium but i drive to Italy once or twice a year to road trip. It's my favorite country with the best food in the world. i explored all of Italy, nothing compares, It's heaven. you should try to learn how to cook cacio pepe yourself, It's so simple.
I visited Rome a few years back with my family, and I can certainly say I’ve never felt happier in a “place” in my entire life (and as an airline-employee daughter who’s been fortunate to travel often when young, that holds a lot of weight for me). I’m planning another trip for next year, and every single thing about this video brought me joy. Wonderfully done 🤍
Beautiful video!
Linda mulher, lindo Roma, lindo tudo! Thank you amoré! ❤
I love Rome from India
simply the most beautiful city in the world
After all the Rome guides that I have seen in UA-cam, this is the only one that I have watched completely. Kudos
My city of birth, but for economic reasons my family emigrated to Australia, and very grateful but now that I’m nearly 50, everything in me wants to return to Rome and reclaim myself. You’re vid just put a lump in my throat.
Hope you get to go back!
You have perfectly captured the magic of living in Rome, the deep feeling that every Roman feels for mamma Roma, which comes from all these little things made of heart and human warmth! 🌌
If you want to appreciate Rome as it was in the late 1950s (when life was much slower than it is nowadays), I suggest the movie "Three Coins in a Fountain", in gorgeous colour and starring great-looking movie stars, with Frank Sinatra singing the signature tune. When you hear him singing it in his inimitable voice, you'll be filled with nostalgia. "Three coins in a fountain, each one seeking happiness..."
Malini! What an incredibly beautiful love letter to Rome! ❤
I do so love Italy!
Tu . di dove sei ?

Thank you, happy you enjoyed it! Italy is a stunning country and so much to explore ❤️

Girl, this was a whole PRODUCTION!! Absolute perfection, everything about this video! Thank you!
I've watched this 2 times now and I love this video because that's where I'm going with my mum just tasting the feel of Rome makes me happy well done to the lady on the video 🤚👍
I watched this and made a list. Now I am in rome and every single thing that she offered specially the market wad tourist trap. I am very very disapoinnted that got stuck by this influenecer.
Please don't do the same mistake
This is the best video i have ever seen here like Mary Beard videos on YT. You grab the true soul of Rome. I reccomend tourists to see the monuments and museums, but also to just hang around in the centre, in the morning if you wanted immerse yourself in the chaotic, crowded, noisy city or early in the morning or at night ig you wanted Rome touch your soul. Kudos from Rome ❤
We love how you manage to capture the feel and essence of all the places you visit ❤
grazie mille

I am so proud of you! This was everything! Made me want to go back to Rome and really reminded me of Anthony Bourdain and Eat Pray Love. Loved the interviews with locals too. Such a wonderful job! so so so proud
These episodes are pure visual feasts ... incredible channel!

Love your videos...keep them coming. A narration is to the point and very easy to understand.
The end brought back so many wonderful memories of my nighttime strolls when I visited the city ❤
This has been a joy to watch your blog on Rome. Having been there a year ago for the second time it brought back fond memories and I agree just wandering the streets is the best way without a plan. It is a museum, art gallery and wonderment in every sense. Thank you for such an informative and relaxed manner. And I particularly loved the hidden places you visit. I have subscribed and will be watching many more of your videos. Thank you Malini.
Thank you for this beauy full, informative and relaxing moment with each of your videos!
gorgeous video. I've never seen the city of Rome seen with it's own ancient and modern aura! So enjoyed this and also educational..
Happy to have made it early today! Loving this video
I’ve spent a bit of time there - it’s uniquely beautiful. Your video is very well done on many levels - the editing, commentary, images and interviews not to mention choices made to highlight. Bravo!
love love love the italian way of living. they really know how to enjoy the little pleasures, which is what life is all about. can't get enough of it!
❤ Italy holds a very special place in our hearts. We can never get enough of it… there is something fascinating and so special about the place. One day, we would like to understand the meaning of La Dolce Vita to its fullest. Thank you for this video … it brought back many wonderful memories of Italy!! Your video brought a different perspective of travel in Italy … it has a theme that is personable. Grazie❤
Bravo, bellissimo! Another great video
This is the best episode ❤
Great video, once again. I am very glad to see that more and more people are watching your excellent videos and appreciate the good work that you've been doing for more than a year now. Your videos aren't boring at all it really makes us travel with you. Thank you so much for not picking lousy electro-music that so many vloggers use as background sound (probably because it is free). I also loved the way you put that video together with the old school cuts and that you let inhabitants talk and explain us their Rome with their own words, in their own language. Excelleny Idea. I had as much fun watching this video as watching the one about Napoli. Sei molto brava ;-) ... Keep up the good work !
AMAZING CITY ❤ Mille problemi ma il nostro è un paese fantastico
This was beautiful. As are all your videos, Malini
I’m just on my way to Rome and this was exactly what I needed. Perfetto 👌🏻 Grazie mille
her dedication is wonderful
This was so well done, I just loved the interviews with the locals! Thank you for this. We're heading to Rome this weekend :)
malini, the way you describe Rome is charming, and makes the real feeling of Rome, 🍷🇮🇹❤ Thank you very much
Another lovely video Malini. Some great tips and thoughts in this one.
The content just keeps getting better!
Another masterpiece, Malini, which makes me dream, but please don't forget to show also the unknown italy, like little villages nobody knows, they offer a lot of stories, history, precious traditions, landscapes, value, and good people. big hug
Early May this year, we stayed just next door from Roscioli. They actually have there different shops very close to each other. Really loved to see those corners we walked every day, places we bought wine & bread, and lived slow life ❤❤❤
Amazing video truly captured Rome and roman life from non touristy point of view 👌
I've got too much knowledge by this video. thanks for sharing information. you doing great job☺
One of the best videos i've seen about my lovely city!
12:55 True..is always like "yeah beautiful but, you know, i'm from Rome"
Ciao from Rome!
This was excellent, thank you!
Beautiful! Thank you for making this very authentic v-log. ❤
Beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing a better way to visit the Eternal City.
You should do this for every major city
Loveed the video
Each new video is better than the previous one, congratulations, greetings from Mexico
this is one of the best videos on rome i've ever seen
Love your videos. Love how down to earth and informative your videos are presented. I can sense how the place, the people, the food, the culture, the history, and the way of living are the focal points of your videos. Thank you for giving us a piece of your passion. ❤
Picnic food and background Beautiful!!
Went to Rome a few years ago in July, and am guilty of doing the typical touristy things. Like you stated I need to just enjoy Rome or any major city really and just relax and enjoy it!! I really need to do more of that anywhere I visit. I do hope I get to go back to Rome and enjoy it more the second time around. Nicely done and said Angelica. Bravo😊!!
This video is a concentrate of truth, that's the best way to extract the real life of a population, just speaking with the locals, and I strongly believe we should do that all the time we travel, look for some patient people that can have a quick conversation to understand better the place you are visiting. Great job as usual Angelica.
The outro is so true and it keeps me puzzled that why I miss Rome so much after visiting it.
Incredibly enchanting your documentary
What I love most about your videos is THE SOUND. Absolutely beautifully captured. I think you would have captured THE SMELL too if it were possible in videos.
And, you are majestic.
Your presentation in the program is wonderful ! Sei bella veramente !!!
Nice video, unusual, well conducted. Excellent choice to interact with the locals. Brava!!
My one of the most favourite travel blogger is you ,Malini .❤ur videos .. as they are very informative and helpful to the travelling community.
It has been many years since my last visit to Rome, but in that 26 minutes I felt like I was right back in the Eternal City, smelling the espresso, hearing the scooters and the people speaking that beautiful language and feeling the history that is everywhere. Thank you for this wonderful film. Grazie mille!
It's beautiful - all of those thoughts.
Good you can speak Italian. This added value to the video.👏
fell in love with this video
Beautiful video. Thank you Malini, now I want to go to Italy.
Well done. Very well done!
Good and nice journey of yours in Rome, liked it.
I really wish visiting the beautiful ancient city Rome one day, gracias miss Malini for sharing your experience exploring Rome..👍👍😘😘🙏
I hope this is just part number one because I expected much more from you about Rome thank you
this vlog was insane, Malini. you presented Rome so genuinly (saying it as someone who is going to go in two months and has never been to Rome before). you just portrayed the perfect atmosphere and set the most amazing tone for my trip.
Now that's the way to explore Rome!
Excellent video, thank you for sharing. I was born in Rome but haven’t been back in many years. I think it’s time to go back. Ancora sei bella. Grazie
Congratulations, great JOB.
As Italian i'm proud to be
Thank you to show how Roma and romans are, thank you
well done! really enjoyed it
