Is the Cannondale F800 with Headshok a good bike for a RestoMod project?

I found a Vintage Cannondale F800 bike on marketplace. What should I do with it? 1- Restore it to its original state? 2- Do a Neo-Retro build with modern components. Check the gear I use for my videos here: bit.ly/shopandreasmygear web:www.vonwestfalen.com ig: @andreas_ihm Thanks for watching!

What size?
What size bike?
This is the first time ive heard of tubular tires!
Actually neither. Or a mix of both. Probably bar height of the black bike and the stem length of the red bike.
Iam just casual bikee, but the whole frame seems to be small for you in my opinion judging of course just by a side look
can you not get a longer stem but angled up?
Left yourself in a.conundrum, if you want to go wider you have go into the drops which gets you into a more streamlined aerodynamic position thus still providing aerodynamic benefits. (Although 30cm width is still too bloody narrow for comfort).
Could you help me identify the bianchi model? I found a bike, but I can't figure out what model it is, or if it's original. If yes, where can I send a photo?
Nice but Wrong
@@JuanPedales you are nice but wrong 🤣
I was a mechanic at Bicycles West on Speedway BLVD in the 80's in Tucson AZ. The. best memories from that time was assembling the high end Bianchis. I recall building a Campione Del Mondo with all Super Record Pantograph, and stitched leather on the bars. This video is like a time machine for me. Love it so much!
@@CJ-6993 hey thanks for watching!
Completely agree with your findings on these. Got a set today and it’s super annoying how the smaller ones are all the same length and thickness as you cannot tell at a glance which size each one is. Poor design. Also the holder; why does it have to set them hanging at a jaunty angle rather than straight down. Looks untidy! I was annoyed with my purchase as for the money I felt it wasn’t quite right. Never mind.
What size tire did you cram in the rear?
Managed to fit a 700x38 slick right in the dimples. Definitely made for a 33 or 35 .
That Meditation White Noise gotta go. As soon as a build video does this I click out. I would rather listen to someone talk us through with explanation and description.
Sorry my man, that was my mood back then. Thanks for watching anyway.
Im also lean like that...sometimes i got little bit jumping when skid😅😅😅
I sold 2000-2008 bicycles, Cannondale had sometimes installed different cranks on the same model, it was purely a matter of luck which one they got in the box
Im surprised that the tubing is AELLE and not something better
Doltrap gear
Für mich dass schönste Bianchi auf diesem Planeten ❤
I use Campagnolo since 2004 on every Bike
😃🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Humans pull and push on the bars by instinct so if you wrap it this way it will become worn out easier
prefect review! just bought one wand didn't know about a few features you laid out... the valve core removal is dope. Im looking for ward to the chuck... I like the idea of it... hope I don't hate it.
Thanks for watching!
What size is the stem? Its oversized isbit? I'm looking for this stem too. No where could be found
1.56”
Where can I get this stem? It's so hard to find 1. 🥲
@@mohamadredzuanothman4990 cannondale experts has them.
Hi your bike is realy a beauty. I am building one similar. I have issue with the eebrake and my size 52 frame.
The eebrakes have a small size specific version! I also used link housing from Jagwire to make things smooth and snapy!
@@AndreasIhm I already got my Jagwire:D For the specific eebrake size the company told my to get an adaptor. Unfortunately, no one is selling it anymore:s I might try to 3D print the piece. Thx for your reply;)
I do not use anything that will abrade or scratch the surface layer (e.g. paste, sponge with an abrasive layer). Whether it is natural leather or synthetic material, it is damaged and dirt enters the micro-scratches and then causes the damaged elements to turn yellow. I can recommend Meglio or MucOff (universal degreaser) or intimate hygiene liquid due to its low pH and soft sponge. This liquid is also perfect for washing white bar tape.
Maravillosa 👏👏👌👏🚴🚴👌👌
Can please attach a link to the seat mounted tool kit set up. That's the best idea I ever seen!
ohhh the Delta brakes¡¡¡¡¡¡
This pump cannot measure my current wheel pressure?
Hardly, you must make sure there is always air in the chamber before opening the valve which will then allow you to monitor the pressure. Thanks for your comment: I never thought of using the pump for that. I’d use another pump for that or keep a digital pressure gauge handy. Thanks for watching.
I just realized this about 2 minutes ago, and I'm pretty pissed off about it needing a separate gauge to go along with my $150 pump. Trash.
I hate the black look, bring back the alloy and chrome
Hi Andreas, really enjoyed the video and info, I know I'm rather late to the party here. Was hoping you might give me some advise on choosing An UP bike. I haven't found a way to contact you besides here. I'm looking at a new UP, (can pick between small and medium, as I'm 173cm, (12cm inseam), which comes from factory, (local dealer) w Camy Ekar group-set, (38t, 9x42), a cockpit similar to your UP, and HED Emporia GA Pro 700c wheels. The other is 2-3? yrs old, it's a U.P. Limited Edition Omata 16/20, (the interesting white w letters and symbols), w Sram XX1 Eagle AXS derailleur, 42t 10x52, 12spd, similar cockpit, (Easton / FSA), Sram Force shifter and disk brakes, Roto alloy crank, and Roval Terra CLX Disc Carbon Tubeless 700c. Bikes in very good condition, just don't know the history. I'm a recreational rider, 80% pavement, 20% fire roads, who likes to push the pace and enjoy a good riding / handling bike. Any help is much appreciated, (can send you links to bikes, if you have time), thxs
Hi Jerry, Check my bio and find me on instagram. I’ll be happy to discuss there. @andreas_ihm Cheers!

ratio?
Cant remember, probably 51-14 or 51-15x thanks for watching :)
They basically rode these bikes globally - for decades - until alloy came along, then carbon. Not sure why it seems so foreign to you, purpose built track bike on a track?
Spending that money on a strength & Conditioning coach to improve your mobility would have been a better long term and healthier solution. Just sayin.
Makes total sense!
Thank you dog.
Been wrapping top down for over 20 years, its the only way !! Electrical tape is 🤮🤮
Did you manage to find out how you can get the “plastic” pieces white again?
I want one
Beautiful and very nice shop!
Slamming into the side of a taxi seems to be an effective method of stopping 😲 At least that’s what I’ve seen in a few of the fixie videos 🤷♂️
Glue? Tape
No tape on the track, sorry.
What is the name of pump adapter that you used?? I need one !
@@philippeguite2976 that one came with the Corima wheel. Found a similar one here: trackloft.com/products/silca-disc-wheel-adaptor
Not worth the $200. Just get a Wiha for $50
Question: are the forks in carbon and do you use the same fork for 54 cm as well as 62cm road frames?
The fork is a carbon fork. For more specifics, you can contact T-lab directly. Thanks for watching!
Hello T-lab: Can you put a Dura-ace 12 speed together without any cables showing. I hear that all brake and gear cables can run down the head tube?
Ppl don’t appreciate the technique this takes, 38cm wide, fixed gear, on rollers, track spec
In the '80s, most of the pros sized up a couple cm in order to open up their lungs and increase leverage for climbing. With today's low climbing gears the leverage is probably not necessary, and ironman triathletes have poked a hole in the need for width. Just the same, they sit higher than a UCI cyclist and they have no need for short punchy efforts. Most bikes in my size come with 44s. 42s are just right.
Better work on power production and flexibility. Aero gains from narrower handle bars are practically not existant if you cant get your torso down
One step at a time for sure!
Damned!! Ive just finished wrapping my two bikes. Next time I'm gonna try this way so that the finishing tape can go straight in the bin. Cheers
Go for a set of Neilsen 8pc there great and priced even better
