- Can't get your hands on Shimano L03A disc brake pads?
I quickly give you a few aftermarket alternatives so you can start riding (and braking) now!
At the time of recording this video, Shimano L03A brake pads are out of stock worldwide. (feb. 7 2022)

Nice vid Andreas! Very helpful! Thanks
Wow! Merci beaucoup for this video! I had enough difficulty determining the differences between L03A and the metallic one but was also not sure about other brands' compatibility with Shimano Ultegra. I did a quick lookup on an online shop in Germany (I am in Asia and it is can be difficult to get everything here) and they had in stock Jagwire, Kool Stop, SwissStop, and Galfer K-type pads. Thanks again!
Thank you for watching!! Glad this could help!
Amazing, thank you for the detail.
Legend! Mille fois merci!
great video, for someone going to get my first disc disc brake bike in a few months
Thank you!
Thanks for this video.
Yes, yes. I see your point and I appreciate it. BUT! Considering the following:
L03A pads look cool! 😎
Golden! Bravo!
I am a shop owner and have a channel. It is the most frustrating thing explaining to customers to not obsess about getting the L03A pads - there are so many options that work very well. Some work much better than the stock Shimano. The fins are bullshit anyway.
Like the MTX RL141 😉
@@WowRixter correct!
Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
@@AndreasIhm You’re Welcome and good luck with your channel!
Yes, i just did explained to a new cyclist in bike shop that he don't need L03A. Just get L04A or just K series.
Insane tips!!!!
Great video, thanks
Just because it has the name Shimano on it doesn't mean it's the best. I don't get the attraction to the fins. I use MTX Red pads in my Dura-Ace calipers and I'm very pleased with how they perform.
thank you
Haven’t Shimano replaced the LO3A with the L05A-RF ? Maybe thats why you can’t find them, they have a newer version.
The new L05A pads will replace the l03A pads, meaning all orders for the previous pads will be fullfilled with the new ones. They are also backordered for now.
LOL my local bike shop has those in stock for 19€ per pad😅 I will sell them 🤑
Ultimately any aftermarket pad out there from a company specializing in brake pads are going to be better than the Shimano pads. The fins are a gimmick and Shimano compound is crap.
