Wow! Merci beaucoup for this video! I had enough difficulty determining the differences between L03A and the metallic one but was also not sure about other brands' compatibility with Shimano Ultegra. I did a quick lookup on an online shop in Germany (I am in Asia and it is can be difficult to get everything here) and they had in stock Jagwire, Kool Stop, SwissStop, and Galfer K-type pads. Thanks again!

I am a shop owner and have a channel. It is the most frustrating thing explaining to customers to not obsess about getting the L03A pads - there are so many options that work very well. Some work much better than the stock Shimano. The fins are bullshit anyway.

Yes, i just did explained to a new cyclist in bike shop that he don't need L03A. Just get L04A or just K series.

Just because it has the name Shimano on it doesn't mean it's the best. I don't get the attraction to the fins. I use MTX Red pads in my Dura-Ace calipers and I'm very pleased with how they perform.

Haven’t Shimano replaced the LO3A with the L05A-RF ? Maybe thats why you can’t find them, they have a newer version.

The new L05A pads will replace the l03A pads, meaning all orders for the previous pads will be fullfilled with the new ones. They are also backordered for now.

Ultimately any aftermarket pad out there from a company specializing in brake pads are going to be better than the Shimano pads. The fins are a gimmick and Shimano compound is crap.
